They have a ton of beautiful fish including koi that clearly are very well taken care of in clean environments. They have a ton of great pond plants that are healthy and decently priced. The people that work there are very knowledgeable and helpful. They have all sorts of supplies such as pond soil for the plants, treatments for water...pretty much anything you need. I can't say I have ever been there and not found pretty much what I needed. So why the hate you ask? Because I will go in almost every single time with one thing in mind that I want to buy and end up leaving with waaaaaaay more than I originally planned. OMG...Every.Single.Time. So I guess it's kind of a compliment? Not for my wallet... but they do have great stuff. I went in the dog washes area it was dirty. Both dog washes were out of shampoos and conditioner.i had my dog wet in the tub cold while we fetched an employee to come in. She opened up the box and confirmed everything was out. She went away to grab the supplies and refilled. The self serve dog wash at petco was supposed to be a convenient place with all supplies provided, and a clean area. It was the complete opposite. I do not recommend. Area is neglected and not kept up. I wish I would have taken pictures for this review.

They've been there for me when something mechanical needed work. And they've cared for my koi when one would need help. At the yearly koi show in Del Mar, my koi from Koiland took many first placements in their classes. A visit to their ponds is a relaxing experience. They're very happy to discuss the points about any of the fish you might be interested in. A few years ago I sold my property with the koi ponds and needed to rehome my koi. James of Koiland accepted back my koi. I knew they'd be in good hands with them. As sad as I was that I had to give them up, I was relieved that Koiland had them. They're a wonderful family with beautiful koi.

Rob was recommended to me for dog grooming by a person from whom I purchased a dog stroller online (apparently a friend or client of his). Setting the appointment on the phone was easy (apparently you can do this online, too), and I was given a very reasonable quote during the call, which I appreciated knowing ahead of time. So I took my two neurotic dogs for a bath and haircut, and warned him about my extra spicy chiweenie (Max) and that my terrier-dachshund mix (Malcolm) may never have been groomed before, so I wasn't sure how he would react (both former shelter dogs with trust issues). Rob listened to my stories and requests (and warnings), and then got to work. He was able to complete a full bath and groom for Malcolm, and Malcolm came out looking like a new dog! Amazing transformation and I'm told he was no trouble at all. Malcolm will definitely be back. Unfortunately Max was his *extra* spicy self, so Rob was only able to complete a bath, but Max came back none the worse for wear--just feeling like he got his way, I'm sure. He was very fluffy and fully brushed out, so he looked great and his fur is nice and soft, if not any shorter. (I was actually impressed Rob got that far! Well done!) To be fair, Max's regular groomer has spent a ton of time building the relationship with Max, and Max will let her do things he won't even let me do, so I knew it was a long shot, but he really needed a bath so I appreciate that that was accomplished. The only thing I didn't like was that the dogs have so much perfume on them I may have to rinse them or something tomorrow to get rid of the heavy scent. I can literally taste it in the air. I will know next time to ask not to use whatever that is, but if you don't like heavy scents, just be aware you have to ask to not have that put on. Rob did an excellent job with the grooming tho, and if you have a dog that's NOT neurotic and extra spicy, I highly recommend his services.
