We were passing through on our way to Mt. Rushmore and needed something quick without being a full sit down. This was a perfect option - there's a type of sandwich for everyone. They even were really accommodating for my son who just wanted a plain ol' meat and cheese sandwich (and they'll conveniently wrap up what you don't eat to take home!). I was so happy they had gluten-free bread available. Then the question was if I could have some of the meats so they were happy to look at the ingredient lists for me, which I really appreciated. I got the Italian and it was loaded with meat, mostly pepperoni, which quite honestly I would have done differently. I would have placed more emphasis on the other meats, but still, it was very good. Now were I dock a star is the sad gluten-free bread they gave me. It was clearly the last two slices of the loaf (yes, I got the butt) and if you know gluten-free bread, you know those slices at the ends are VERY SMALL. They don't like quite so small in my photo, but they were. I would personally not have served a sandwich using those. It made it hard to eat because the meat was so much larger and really, I kinda just felt like I was gypped a little. The interior itself isn't anything special...at all, lol. But I can get over that when they at least had a few tables to sit at and the employees were helpful and kind. I would make your way here if you're passing through! read more

Stopped by for lunch on a weekday. There's two small tables that fit 4 each and some stools and two bar areas along with 2 small tables outside with 2 chairs each. It's a very small place. There's a lot of menu items and they run from $10-18 per sandwich. They are large enough to be shared between two people if you get one of their sides like pasta salad or cole slaw. I ordered the Rachel sandwich and it was a pastrami. The meat was very filling and flavorful although there was quite a bit of thousand island sauce. Great for a quick eat! We had extra and they offered to wrap it up for us. They also served us ice and water. Very friendly! read more

We found this place based on Yelp reviews. We were craving a solid meal while traveling and exploring National Parks. This is definitely a no frills sandwich shop, but the family run deli was spot on and just what we wanted for a really good meal. It took a few minutes to find a table to sit (as it was pretty packed), but you can easily take meals to go or sit on the street somewhere. Customer service was great, and the mom-son combo definitely made a great homemade sandwich! read more

No frills sandwich shop in downtown Custer. The staff was efficient and put together a beautiful sandwich. I got the triple decker and man - it was huge! Fresh meat and fresh toppings. The lettuce was so crisp. Great spot to stop in for a bite. read more

We were in town for a few days and I wanted a deli sandwich. Checked Yelp and this place sounded right up my alley. The deli is a mom and pop place, small with just two tables inside with a rustic bar with stools lining the walls. We ordered the pastrami sandwiches. Me with the Swiss cheese and brown mustard and the Mr. got the spicy pastrami with pepper jack. Both sandwiches were on marbled rye bread and griddled to perfection. We also had the German potato salad as a side. It's the best I have had outside of Germany. This sandwich is pastrami heaven. The owner took care of us and is such a sweet lady. Everything was great. She even packed our leftovers as if they were a to go order for us. (The sandwiches were huge). Will be back next time we are in this part of the country. read more

Our sandwiches were so stuffed with meat I could hardly get my mouth around the sandwich. The breads were fresh. The owner prepares many of the meats herself and they were delicious! The fruit salad was fresh and with nicely ripe fruit. The staff was friendly and the owner is right there working with them. So good we went back twice during our stay in the area. read more
