Three years ago, we bought a double bathroom vanity cabinet that cost us over $2800. Then one day within a year of purchase so still under warranty, the center self-closing drawer would not close tightly the last three inches. We contacted Salem Designer Bath, they ordered us a new rail system and the two under-drawer glide latches. THEY WOULD NOT SEND ANYONE TO INSTALL THESE. Because they are a showroom. We brought the rails back to their Beverly lication. They ordered different rails and latches. These did not fit properly and the drawer to this day sticks open a hald inch on one side. It looks like crap. NEVER AGAIN will we purchase from Salem Designer Bath. They are really just a middle man for companies who have no interest in backing their products and keeping customers satisfied and loyal. BUYER BEWARE!!!

Had to purchase at Ferguson due to time constraints. Went in to credit my wife's credit card hit with restocking charge. They claimed parts just arrived on Monday which was a holiday even though my wife had received a text on 1/13 indicated parts would not be in for additional 3 to 5 weeks. They did not show me the parts felt like it was a standard response " parts just came in'". A counter person who said she place the order on 12/12 which we doubted called my wife a liar when I indicated that we doubted the order was placed. Total nightmare horrible experience place should be out of business. Homeowners , designers, and builders beware total scam.

They arrived at 2 PM for a 9-10 AM appointment. I called throughout the 4 hour wait but no one got back to me. There was a lot of loud banging in my kitchen. They left without finishing the job and refused to come back to complete grouting one section of backsplash to the wall. My dishwasher is dented inside and out. It was filled with refuse and is no longer attached. It wiggles in place. The door has two diagonal creases. It makes a strange noise when run because it is loose, My floor is gouged from the stove being dragged out and then turned , then dragged back. It isn't level because they didn't adjust the legs. They installed the new stainless sink and deeply scratched it. There are scratches on my cabinets, fridge and range hood. Francisco, the owner came to view the damages and said he would come back to complete the job and repair the gouges in the walls where his workmen had used chisels to remove the old backsplash and paint the wall. His son Lucas arrived instead, with an attitude. His father AND the workmen had all apologized for the damages. Lucas spread spackle on the walls to patch the gouges in the wallboard and did a good job. BUT he insisted that spackle was the correct medium to attach the backsplash to the wall of the unfinished section, as if I didn't know the difference. He said that those thick blobs would be fine when they dried. He attempted to bully me while he was there with a swaggering intimidating attitude and a fresh mouth. I was totally relieved when he left. I would not want him in my home again. All in all the damages and unfinished work came to almost a thousand dollars. I've been forced to file in small claims court. As a 72 year old widow I am unable to make the repairs myself and certainly can't reattach my dishwasher and level the stove and replace flooring. They also left the place dirty and I even had to clean dirty handprints off my walls. All in all an extremely upsetting way to be treated. I'm convinced that being an elderly female is a large contributor to their lack of response in following through with Francisco's promises of job completion and repairs and Lucas' threatening att I'll see them i i'll see you in court.

I've contacted at least 7 or 8 contractors before finding Kitchen Tune Up with Matt. Previously I could hardly even get a ballpark quote, never mind a detailed quote according to the scope of work. Matt was able to get that to me in a week that included everything we talked about. Another convenience is that its price includes cabinets. Almost all the previous contractors said they only quote me the job but I have to go find and buy my own cabinets. There could be more options if you go to a cabinet dealer, but I was able to find the cabinets that I'm happy with from the Kitchen Tune Up selection. The quote and final price was all very reasonable. Matt and his team are courteous, professional, and effective. The team has a great chemistry, which is always important for getting a project done well. They set up dividers and floor covering to keep everything as clean as possible, and also clean up after every workday; and they are not noisy since my husband and I work from home. They are very helpful to answer questions, and flexible to work around issues and requests. Schedule wise it was very efficient. Groups of workers showed up and finished on all the dates previously scheduled, no endless delays. Matt subcontracted the floor repair for me, which is included in the quote. It was a bit tricky to work on my tiles but in the end the tile floor came out nicely. Matt also contracted electricians (Wetmore Electric, separate review on them), which is quoted and paid separately. But two teams worked well together. I did find my own guy to come in during an in-between week to do a separate wall/ceiling repair and painting job (Atmosphere Painting and Plastering, separate review on them). Matt as able to schedule his team around my schedule, too, which I really appreciate. The final piece was I had a matching countertop that is to be moved and cut and reinstalled on a new base cabinet. This piece took a long time. Because the job was small, the countertop company didn't want to spend the time to come to pick up the granite. So Matt's team did the extra work to bring the countertop to them, have it cut, then bring it back to install it themselves. Even though this is not their usual job, the work came out beautifully, including covering a weird corner that has a funky whole. Again, Matt's team is amazing, I would recommend them to anyone who wants to do a kitchen job of any size.

We tried Home Depot and Lowes, and we were told we needed to go to a place that makes doors. My son and I sat with a sales rep at Moynihan Lumber named Corey. Corey spent about 15-20 minutes searching their database using the measurements I gave him, looking for a door to fit 33" x 75" rough, at one point Corey spoke on the phone with the contractor to make certain of the rough opening size for the door. After an extensive search Corey said he found a door in the size I needed, however I was limited to a very basic door. I placed an order with Corey for 2 doors, I paid $2,400, using my credit card, the doors arrived 2-weeks later and they were not the "custom size" I gave him... I emailed Moynihan's on Saturday 09/28, they are not open on Saturday, informing them that the doors are not the correct size. My son followed up at Moynihan's, in person, on Monday 09/30. The manager was rude telling my son they don't make doors the size we ordered. He told my son we have to eat the doors, nothing can be done. I went to Moynihan Lumber to purchase a CUSTOM size door, if they could not order or make a door in the size I needed, then they should not have placed an order for the doors.. Moynihan's told my son to tell the contractor to make the doors work. Moynihan's is not a reputable company. Their attitude is unacceptable. I am a 67 year old woman, I went to Moynihan Lumber to purchase a specific size door, Corey said he found a door that could be ordered in the rough opening size I needed...Now Moynihan said I can eat the doors. I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General's office for Unfair Business Practice and with the BBB.

Go to Home Depot and show the guy behing the paint counter a swatch of your granite countertop and ask him what color he would recommend considering you have cherry cabinetry. Then, when he's done laughing at you, go to Waters & Brown and show your granite swatch to Sam and Lauren (I think her name is.) That's what I did and they immediately both thought of the same color, Quahog. So much darker than I ever wanted to go but wow, just the right color. Then Sam suggested Oxygen (a pale blue) for the ceiling and a color called America's Cup for the trim. The America's Cup (an off white) threw my husband into fits of worry. Will it be too yellow? Will it look dirty and dingy? Sam, promised it wouldn't and explained why . . . and he was right. So right, that my husband went back and asked him what color we should paint the adjoining hall, Sam made a recommendation and my husband walked out with that color paint. This is the same husband who would gladly spend months deliberating every decision, no matter how minute!!! So it is no exaggeration when I say that Sam may have single-handedly saved my marriage, or perhaps my husband's life because I was ready to either kill or divorce him. So as we decorate our entire home over, all I can say is thank God for Waters and Brown, and thank God for Sam!!!!
