What never seems to change is that securing seating can be a challenge because all spots are "prime" real estate and the abundance of choices is an indecisive person's nightmare. Nonetheless, to all the foodies at heart those are just minor details for mere mortals... lol. We managed to grab a larger enough table and everyone circled until we made our individual choices and then returned to our central meeting spot to break bread and indulge in all of our finds. We enjoyed several of the eateries we experienced and I was particularly intrigued by the plant store (albeit kinda pricey). Returning is a no brainer especially for the places that were most memorable. Just A Note: Parking is not free, payment is required. It was such a huge space but was a bit difficult to figure out where what was so we just ended up walking around on one side. We ended up going to Good Postage and I really loved the store! Starting with the dumplings, these things should not be called soup dumplings. The broth quantity was very disappointing. I have better experience with the mila frozen dumplings I steam at home. That being said, I liked the little foil cups they were served in, especially when they didn't have large soup spoons. The noodles were really well cooked, and I loved the pork belly, but the portion was underwhelming. The cucumber was definitely the highlight for me though. It had a great flavor profile, and I loved the spice level. 10/10 would recommend for the cucumbers. As much as I appreciated the goal here, I likely wouldn't go back. There are a lot of spots in optimist hall, and I'm inclined to believe I'd be happier with something else.
