A wonderful evening, experience, and wonderful restaurant owners. It was very last minute, but we stopped in here earlier this evening for an early birthday dinner for myself. When we arrived, there were a few other tables being occupied, but we were seated right away and warmly greeted by the owner's wife. We had a short conversation with her, and then she recommended a few things, one of which was the fish Pokora. Before ordering, she did make us aware that most of their items are made fresh so items will take a little bit longer to prepare, we were totally fine with that. We also ordered a chicken tikka masala with both garlic and chili naan, and we also ordered their chicken biryani. For drinks, we ordered a Mojito, along with one of their special cocktails called the Mango Twist. The Mango Twist is basically a mango lassi mixed with Spiced rum, it was delicious! I also had a kingfisher beer, which is an Indian beer, which went so well with the fish pakora! The fish pakora arrived about 10 minutes after we ordered. It was hot, flaky, fresh, and so flavorful and delicious. The chicken tikka masala was cooked to perfection, creamy with just the right amount of spices, it went great with the two different naans that we ordered. The chicken biryani was also very flavorful. It was served with a few slices of hard boiled egg on top, lots of big chunks of chicken, and of course it's fluffy and fragrant basmati rice. Everything that we ordered was rich in flavor, hot and fresh. Paul, the restaurant owner is such a kind and humble gentleman. He came over to our table several times making sure that everything was perfect. We also had short conversations with him, got to know him a little bit and learn a little bit about the restaurant and his family. When restaurant owners go out of their way to hold conversations with their guest, it makes you feel a lot more welcomed, just because of the small gesture we know that we will be coming back to this restaurant in the very near future. Also, for their very delicious food. Oh! One thing I have to mention, we absolutely loved the old school Bollywood music playing on the background!

Hands down, this is my favorite Indian spot in all of South Florida. I always get a new recommendation I come in because the owner remembers what I got last time. Malai kofta is probably my favorite, but you can't go wrong with anything on this menu. It's also a nice dim lit restaurant for a date where you want good food and a great conversation.

Nice people, old school place, cricket on the tvs, bolliwood music on the radio. Big menu. Excellent lamb vindaloo, excellent lamb korma and excellent eggplant.

The owner informed us that all the food they serve is fresh. Nothing comes frozen. Although it may take time to prepare the food and get it out to the table, the wait is worth it. I decided to dine at Curry Cafe for the wings. It was nice to try a different flavour of wings. I ordered the mint chicken wings and an order of kasmiri naan. The service was great and I like the interior of the restaurant; very casual.

I greatly enjoy eating at the curry cafe. Earlier today, my girlfriend and I stopped in to have an early dinner; the atmosphere was very nice with the diffused lighting and comfortable seating, and the staff very polite, informative, and attentive. For a drink, I ordered the mango lassi. It is very smooth, sweet, and thick. I enjoyed the flavor profile and it was very refreshing. My main entree was the mango lamb, which was excellent. The lamb is very tender, the rice fluffy and light. The sauce itself is wonderful! It was rich and creamy whilst the mango gave it a more distinct and sweet flavor. They make all the sauces by scratch, so you can order each dish on a verity of heats. I ordered mine mild and was more than satisfied. For good customer service, excellent food, and nice atmosphere, I highly recommend this restaurant!

I really wanted to support this business, especially because it appears to be family owned. I thought if I ordered something simple like wings, I could not go wrong. I ordered the chili garlic wings and found that the chicken wings were coated with a flour batter making it hard to find the chicken. I explained that I just could not eat it because all I'm eating is fried batter. They explained that that's how it comes in all restaurants. Of course, that is not true. I recommend they change the description on their menu for the wings and note that the wings are heavily battered. They felt comfortable taking my money even though I could not eat it. I would not recommend the wings, since that is all I ordered. If you need to use the womens bathroom, better to go before coming to this restaurant. One stall was gross with urine that would not flush. Unfortunately, I won't be back.

One of the best Indian food I've tasted by far! We were served by the owner, nice fella came to us often see how we were doing & chatted for a bit. I one part he told us that food is freshly cooked which totally caught my attention. We ate so well I'll definitely be coming back often.

I took my niece to Curry Cafe to celebrate her 18th birthday and to introduce her to authentic Indian food. She loved the rolling, tall-back chairs, but asked why the lighting was so dim. ("It's dinner ambiance," I told her.) We were told right away about the extra charge for credit cards and that there would be an automatic 18% gratuity added because we were a party of 4 (or more). Hmmm. I think the server had read my last review and/or remembered me. There were four of us. We had veggie samosas and were in love with the big, triangular appetizers. They looked and tasted homemade. They were accompanied by a mint-cilantro sauce and a tamarind sauce. I loved the latter. My niece loved both. For dinner we ordered the goat kadhai (they ran out of goat so we got lamb instead), chicken vindaloo, chicken korma, and the chicken tandoori. The kadhai was good, the vindaloo just OK, but the korma was so tasty that we spooned out every drop of the sauce (even when we ran out of meat) and consumed it either with rice or naan. Of course, we had to have a bread basket (variety of naan) with our meals. And we ate every piece using them to sop up gravies or dipping them in the tamarind sauce for a sweet treat. To me, though, the entree portions are still a tad skimpy and could use some more meat. :-) Of course, I am still getting used to post-pandemic prices in restaurants. The standout of the meal was the tandoori. Though not a favorite of mine, often because it is a bit dry and is sometimes made in advance and warmed up, this tandoori was made fresh and came straight from the clay oven. The chicken was well-seasoned, and it was moist and practically fell off the bone. I must admit, it is the best tandoori I have had outside of India. And the entree included about 6-8 pieces, so we were happy to have a decent amount of chicken. The place is very mom-and-pop, with the chef popping out to ask how we were liking our meals. And there was just one server handling the eat-in diners as well as the take-out orders. She was pleasant, even with her heavy load. (Shout-out to Tara!) The Curry Cafe now advertises a daily lunch buffet (Tuesday through Sundays, they are closed on Mondays). We are definitely going to try it out.

This is such a nice delight to stumble upon! After visiting Tate's, my friends and I found ourselves craving Indian food. Curry Cafe was one of the only places open late, so this is where we went. I have to say, it was so lovely. The inside is very pretty and quite red. More importantly, the service was wonderful. There was no one else but us, but the man serving us was very chatty and kind. He showed us the mango lassi and the strawberry lassi they were walking on as well. As for food, it was delicious. There are many options on the menu, and I can definitely recommend the samosas and the curry chicken. There are a lot of options for vegetarians as well. I can't comment on the indo-Chinese dishes yet but I am eager to come back to see.

AMAZING flavor! Excellent service! You can really taste the fresh ingredients they use and you can tell the owner really cares about giving his customers the best quality food and experience overall. It's a little more expensive than some other Indian places in the area but it's not just price gouging. You can really taste a huge difference in the flavor and you feel better after eating!

The 1st time experience last evening was delightful from the greeting, by the owner, at the door, the self explanatory menus, convivial ambience to the contested cricket matches playing on the television screen. The food is entirely homemade from fresh ingredients. Nothing frozen, processed or deceptively substituted. You have a choice of seasoning strength: mild, medium or spicy. Even the still water is clean and crisp. Worth every penny!! read more

This is by far one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever tried! All their food is fresh and homemade. The garlic naan is really good and crispy, the butter chicken is super creamy and flavorful. Everything I've ordered is 10/10 the vegetable samosas are also very good here. The only complaint I have is that my husband ordered his butter chicken mild and it was a little spicy I ordered medium and the spice levels were the same to me. We ordered the lamb mild and it was actually mild. Not sure if that was a mistake on behalf of the kitchen or if their butter chicken is just that spicy. Either way I didn't mind much I love this place it's nice and spacious inside and fairly new. If you haven't been yet and are thinking of dining here, do yourself a favor and check them out! read more

Don't trust the surveys. Most of the 4 and 5 star reviews are paid for. Food is good. Service and management is horrible. Too much attitude and arrogance., The owner/manager thinks he is special and king of Lauderhill. Should stay in the kitchen, not intruding on eating customers. read more

Curry Cafe has great Indian Food prepared with care. The dishes are delicious and the service is excellent. It is tucked away in an unassuming strip mall but the ambiance inside the building is authentic. They have a very large menu and I highly recommend any of the paneer dishes. They also serve goat if you have a taste for it. read more

Dined here this evening with my husband after reading the reviews. The service was a little off. My entree was delayed due to "an excessive amount of Grubhub orders". I ordered saag aloo which is supposed to be spinach with potatoes. I was given spinach with mushrooms because the cook didn't read the notes on the order. Thankfully I like mushrooms and that was the best dish we had. It appears they do more take out than dine in. The other dishes we ordered were the lamb vindaloo and vegetable korma - which was made with frozen vegetables. (Sad face) On a good note the Kingfisher beer was cold and tasty. read more

I've recently discovered this restaurant, within the past 2 months, and I've been there almost 6 times. The food is awesome. It just tastes so fresh and good. There's no nasty vegetable oil aftertaste either that so many restaurants have. And the textures of the meats suggests the food is indeed fresh. In speaking to the owner, he said his family also eats the food. My wife and I always ask him what he would suggest for that particular day we're there and he hasn't disappointed with his suggestions. read more

The food is fine. But the up charge was nearly insulting. They charged an 18% service charge for a large party, we were three people. And then with a tip, it came out nearly 40% of the bill. Ridiculous. Then we asked for a Diet Coke and they had none so we pulled out our water and they asked us to put it away. And we understand that was the policy but they didn't have what we asked for and no replacements or substitutions! They didn't even try to work with us. Though the food was decent, we won't be back. Would not recommend! read more

Go there if you want to be HUMILIATED!! This was my second time here with my girlfriend. I knew the owner from before. Didn't like his people skills much, but used to like the food. At this restaurant, the first time I came, the food was average, decor is nice, but no feeling of hospitality. Every other Indian restaurant has this warm welcome vibe, while this restaurant gives you the feeling like you're burdening them when entering. Never saw a restaurant that makes the customers feel unwelcome before. That was weird. The first time, they didn't have a few items that were there in the menu. We decided to give it a second try and we wanted to checkout the buffet. We were met with the same unwelcome vibe we experienced the first time. Again, they didn't have a few items. My surprise was when the server told us they don't have any lemons (my girlfriend asked for water with lemon). What Indian restaurant runs their kitchen without lemons??? The food was average...again!!! Then at some point, I had a bad reaction while eating and I started coughing. My girlfriend shifted her chair around the table to come closer to me so she could comfort me. Only 1 minute had passed, and a lady (not sure of her designation in the restaurant) going into the kitchen, asked her to move her chair as it was blocking her path into and out of the kitchen. This was a reasonable ask and my girlfriend promptly shifted, but this time to the other side of the table. At which point, the owner "tells" her to move her chair back in it's place in a rude manner, saying "other customers are complaining" that were eating in silence (not that many customers there to begin with even), and this 2 or 3 times. At which point we left "in the middle of our meal". Most restaurants will try to accommodate this kind of thing if two people want to sit closer. I have never seen a restaurant staff that is this rude to their customers. It was fishy, weird, and downright HUMILIATING!!! In effect, there are many other Indian restaurants in the area that are lower priced, better quality of food, and far better quality of service...never returning here EVER!!! read more

I haven't had food from many different Indian places, but this food amazing! I ordered the saag paneer and it was rich and flavorful. My brother ordered a mango lassi and it was really good too. The wait time for the food was reasonable. The waitress was very friendly and helpful in explaining some menu items. The ambiance is nice, a little dark, but inviting. Great food! We got the mix thali and it was a perfect amount of food for lunch. Waitress was wonderful and checked in when needed. We took two children and they sent out extra naan for them. The cook came out to check on the food. Great restaurant! read more

Very good food, large menu with a lot of choices. I had the gobi manchurian and pani puri, and shrimp curry for my entree. The pani puri could have been better, but everything else was fantastic. Their naan is spectacular. Looking forward to dining there again. read more

My son and I have been dining at Curry Café on a weekly or more basis for over a year. Since this time, we have not gone to any other Indian Restaurant. We love everything about this place, from the beautiful ambiance to the taste of the authentic Indian food. The owner always makes a point of visiting our table each time to talk with and thank us for coming to his restaurant. The owner and his wife are the chefs, and everything is cooked to order so prepare to wait a little longer than you would at other restaurants. However, it is WELL worth the wait. I usually get Mango or Peach curry chicken, but the last few times I had Chicken Tikka, and it was OUTSTANDING. So fresh and juicy with just the right amount of spice and heat. My son usually eats Chicken Korma, but lately he has been eating Chicken Saag. Both meals are exceptional, and the portions are huge. The garlic naan is so fresh and so good that we order several pieces and freeze them. That is a little secret the owner told us about. If you are looking for a very good restaurant for delicious and quality Indian food I highly recommend Curry Café in Lauderhill. You will NOT be disappointed. read more

A friend recommended this place so we didn't bother to read any of the reviews. We went for the lunch buffet and the service was horrible. The one worker that was on the floor did not look like she was interested in being there. Very rude and no customer service skills at all. The food was not good. Not sure if they keep leftovers and serve next day for buffet. The bread was very dry and almost burnt. The butter chicken was a bit bitter and the food coloring stayed on our hands for 2 days. The red color wouldn't come off. The other items did not look appetizing. We never mind paying a high price for buffet or regular items if the food is good. Just don't like getting fooled. We will not recommend anyone to eat from this place. There are many good, clean Indian places to eat within a few mile radius. read more

my experience was terrible here. the main reason was their attitude, they had genuinely terrible customer service. they wouldn't be straight with me and kept speaking with an attitude and a rude tone. the server brought me the wrong order which was more expensive and when I expressed that I hadn't ordered that, he wouldn't take it back and started arguing with me that I did order it when I know for a fact that I didnt. he ended up making me eat that because he wouldn't stop arguing with me and im not a person who would cause a ruckus over a wrong order but even then the food didn't even taste good. after all that I decided to at least get some ice cream and when I went up to get some, the lady at the ice cream station had such bad attitude. she answered every question with a belittling and rude tone and after all that when I asked for ice cream she gave me only a small single scoop and charged me $7 for it. the customer service was genuinely ridiculous. read more

On entering at about 12:20 p.m. the buffet that's supposed to begin at noon was just being set up. So we decided to wait and try it. At about 12: 40 p.m. it was ready. I would try to use the proper names of the dishes in the buffet but I am afraid I am going to get them wrong. So it's easier to name the main ingredients. The beef stew (nihari) was very pleasing to the eye but not the palate. It was very dry. The cowfoot stew is probably an acquired taste. But the bits of tendons fell easily off the bone and were tasty. The vegetarian options were the best with a potato dish made of squares of potato in a curry gravy, a chic peas stew, a scrambled egg and vegetable mixture (anda bhaji--that was my favorite), and a (sweet) potato casserole that served nicely as a dessert for the meal. You can get rice, naan, paratha, and pouri to accompany your meal. We got one of each and shared them. The restaurant seats about 25 or more. We were the first ones there but the place soon filled. At one point, of the 16 patrons having lunch, we were the only ones that didn't seem to be of Pakistani descent. A table of men all had burgers, but I am not sure what kind. The restaurant sells a few kinds and special ones. I only saw three people working at Khan Baba. Two who came out from the back once or twice (cooks?) and young man who did all the work up front (take orders, serve, etc.). I guess because he was alone, tables were not being cleared as he concentrated on fetching meals, breads, drinks, and ringing up those who wanted to leave. The lunch buffet was $16.95 each and worth it.
