Originally, I thought patching the inside of the basement would suffice. I found Complete Paving & Masonry on Yelp, and reached out; Jerry responded very quickly and was able to come by to provide a visual inspection and a quote. He recommended that work needs to be done on the outside in order to fix the inside. We took a walk around the outside and he provided points of what work needed to be done. Essentially, he recommended to dig up the dirt around the foundation; patch and seal the foundation; put in some gravel and then cover it up with dirt. This would help prevent water from leaking through the foundation into the basement/garage. After conversing with my fellow condo neighbor, we hired Jerry's team to do the work. Within a week, they were able to come on site and start the work. It took them 4 days to do the work (original quote was 3-5 days). Jerry and his team did a magnificent job. They went above and beyond the original estimate's work at no extra charge to improve the water flow surrounding the condo. They also did some additional patch work on the outside of the condo. When the job was completed, Jerry walked me through everything his team did and why it was done, so I was able to understand the reason for the work. Jerry is friendly, honest, and provides top notch service. I highly recommend his team for any mason work.

PPM then noted that our chimney needed some major work. PPM quoted 16k to work from 4 feet from our concrete foundation up to top - remove old brick, put in new brick and liner, from 4 feet on down to concrete foundation they would remove the existing mortar between the bricks and re-mortar. Would have been a huge windfall for them if the work was only from the roof line on up. I got a bank check for the 1st half of payment. It took PPM 5 days total to "finish" the work. Workmanship is fair, not great, not poor. I then gave them a bank check for the 2nd half, here was still some minor work left - cleaning the site, pick up 4 buckets and a tub of debris left on the lawn and put in a new fire damper inside our fireplace. It took a few calls and about a month later when PPM finally picked up the buckets and tub of debris and cleaned up most of the mess on the lawn. Another couple of calls with a night before to confirm, to install fire damper were made. Following day PPM never showed up. Made a few more calls and said he was too busy. STILL making phone calls about the fire damper. I also requested a couple of pictures of the work they were doing. I requested those pics a few times. Still have not received the pics. My big mistake was I gave PPM the 2nd half payment check before the job was complete and I was totally satisfied. I should have held on to the check. Now I'm being given the runaround. It all started great, PPM was great to deal with. But the final is very disappointing. Dealing with PPM has been disappointing.

Lunkers/Nuno came.. and found the problem was the fireplace gas fittings/etc just needed a CLEANING. So, like any appliance, over time, you'll eventually need the setup checked and cleaned (like a furnace), just so you have a reliable fireplace during the winter season. Nuno recommends every 3-4 years.. have him come out and check it and clean it (he takes it all apart, cleans everything so it's like new).. About $300 every 3-4 years.. it's less than a single tire for some SUVs. Worth every penny.

On the day of the job, Rudy and Marlin worked tirelessly for 3 1/2 hours and got a tremendous amount done - trimming multiple hedges and bushes, cutting back an almost dead lilac, power washing the patio (it looks as good as it did 15 years ago when it was installed), cleaning moss, etc. off the garage roof (hadn't been cleaned since I got the house 30+ years ago), cutting up and removing a fallen branch, and power washing a basketball backboard that I wasn't even sure could be reached.
