But having dealt with many contractors over the years I wanted to leave a review anyway because these guys did everything right, even though they didn't win the bid. Orli missed my call but called back within half an hour. He was easy to work with, he showed up early for our appointment, he wore a mask, and he had a written quote to me within 48 hours. As far as pricing, he was very competitive vs the company we went with, priced about the same on some items and as much as 20% cheaper on others. I would have no hesitancy using him in the future. If you know what you want done and don't need a full blown landscape design, give him a call!

My correspondence with Jackie their office support was fantastic comparing against others. She was quick on email and I had an appt booked for an estimate within a week or two as it was spring and the weather was getting nice. Joey showed up, took a video, and I had my estimate in hand in a day. He listened to exactly the look and product I wanted used. It was not an easy cookie cutter patio. Their price was in line with the other 3 estimates I got back for the same project. The project started fast because it was going to be a 4 day job so they fit it into a slot of space they had. Within another week or two they had the crew come excavate my backyard patio area and demo my walkway that was concrete and needing replacement. The excavating team was about 5-6 guys and they worked quick to go deep for the patio. Next day they were installing the paver I chose which was a Unilock Copthorne paver. It had to be hand blended and I wanted a herringbone pattern. The backyard patio was a 90 degree herringbone and the walkway was a 45 degree herringbone. Both came out fantastic. His guys were so good especially the ones they are blending and wet sawing all the edges. They work so well together and their team is really professional. I would highly recommend them for your backyard needs like patios, walkways, bbq, fire pits, hardscaping etc.

We waited a full year before writing this review because we wanted to see how our new lawn would…read morelook over time. Unfortunately, we are extremely dissatisfied with the quality of the lawn installation and overall workmanship. We paid over $4,200 for a new lawn installation with cultivation, grading, loam, seed, and follow-up overseeding. One year later, the lawn is patchy, uneven, and full of different grass types and dark clumps throughout the yard despite having a brand new irrigation system. Vinny promised the lawn would look amazing by the following year, but that is absolutely not what we got. Our overall ~$50K project included paving, irrigation, and landscaping, and there were problems throughout the process. Luckily, I was working from home because I constantly had to supervise the crew and catch mistakes myself. At one point the crew had the wrong patio layout before installation. Downspouts that were agreed upon were initially not installed. The pavement was also installed incorrectly, causing major water pooling and dangerous ice buildup in winter before they eventually redid it. The irrigation system was another issue. Our contract clearly included Wi-Fi controls, but they were not installed initially and Vinny tried to claim they had been removed from the contract. Before the controls were installed, the irrigation system ran nonstop and resulted in an additional ~$1,800 water bill before we were able to monitor it ourselves. Our experience was that Vinny is a great salesman who will do everything to win your business, but the execution and follow-through did not match what was promised. We regret giving this project to this company and would strongly encourage others to carefully evaluate other options before hiring them.

Finally, there was a text - The owner apologized for not coming last week, but said nothing about why he didn't return my messages. Also, no appointments were made for future service, even though we had talked about weeding twice a month. I responded with "You ghosted me! You didn't answer any calls or texts. It's been a month, and after I gave you such a great rating on YELP!" His response was "It's not months, 3 weeks. So do you want it yes or no? I responded with "No. You are not reliable." That 5 star review has gone down to a 3. I am very disappointed with the customer service, and the fact that my garden has grown weeds upon weeds upon weeds!

Our contract specifically stated that we were not required to hire the company to perform the installation work and that the designer would revise the design based on our feedback. The designer visited the property, evaluated the site, and later scheduled a Zoom meeting to present the design. During the meeting, the company owner joined the call. After the designer finished presenting the plan, I started to provide my first piece of feedback but the owner cut me off before I could finish and stated that the design phase was complete and that I would need to hire the company to perform the installation if I wanted any changes made. The interaction was unexpected and inconsistent with my understanding of the contract. The designer appeared uncomfortable, and I found the owner's tone rude, unfriendly, and intimidating. What should have been a collaborative discussion about minor revisions became an unpleasant experience.

A couple of months later, right after Thanksgiving, we were the proud owners of a beautifully landscaped yard. I will admit that I was dubious about putting in all those mature plantings at that time of the year but Jeremy assured us that they would be fine and he was right--we had an amazing Spring of blooms and the excitement of experiencing new plants appearing in the yard. The quality of work and attention to detail caused us to go back to The Narrow Lane again last Spring to do a total renovation and redesign of our back yard. While we were impressed by the quality of work and attentiveness to detail that we experienced with the first project we were absolutely blown away with what Jeremy, Matt, and The Narrow Lane were able to deliver for the backyard. It is truly a work of art and we are so happy that not only did we re-engage with The Narrow Lane for this project but that we gave them complete control over the design and implementation. Neighbors now stop by to explore the yard and we are known in the area as "that house with the amazing landscaping". Based on these landscaping experiences over the past year we have now also contracted with The Narrow Lane to maintain the gardens and yard during the growing season as well as to provide us with snowplowing and shoveling in the winter. I will admit that they are not inexpensive to work with but the prices are totally justified by the quality of work, the care and attention that they have brought to everything that they do, and their continuing care that they bring to our property. We have found everyone from the company that we have engaged with to be consummate professionals that bring a new level of care and respect to the properties they take on as projects. If you are looking for an exciting and complete re-imagination of your property and then professionals to maintain it throughout the year you can't do better than The Narrow Lane.

Ultimately, the job we agreed to with contract was not done to completion, in spite of the assistant's insistence that it was. The owner was not on the job EITHER day and this is important. While the crew came back to attempt to complete the original job ( we appreciated that!), the owner was not there. The result was that the job is currently STILL not what we agreed upon. The owner is not willing to return to finish it. Caveat emptor...just know that if the job is not done according to agreement, you will have trouble reaching the owner and it will not be made right. We really wanted to have a great experience!

Edgar and sons took 3 trees from our yard Monday this week and I must say I am totally impressed!…read moreAll three guys showed up at 7am and worked hard til 4pm taking 3 huge 80-100 foot trees. Due to the lack of daylight, they had to come back Tuesday to finish, grinding the stumps and cleaning up. They worked very well together and efficiently. The price was great for all they did! I would highly recommend them and will use them again in the future!
