Lovely coffee shop to work at in the mornings as it's very calm and quiet. I tried their bacon breakfast wrap and it is superior compared to the one from Starbucks. Will be coming back to try out their other food items. There are outlets at most tables which is a plus. Prices are slightly steeper than Starbucks but I'd say for their food items it is worth the extra penny and they have a variety of wraps, sandwiches/paninis and bakery choices. read more

My neighborhood cafe with the sweetest staff. I always come here for the sandwiches which are made fresh to order with real ingredients, even the turkey is sliced in house. Best cafe in the area. read more

Decent coffee place inside Madison Centre. Parking is available in the large mess of an underground parking lot. Easiest to just park right by the entrance/exit ramp. The place is pretty modern. Wood trim. Nice and quiet too. Great for people watching. Staff were friendly. No complaints. Coffee was pretty tasty. Also can't complain. read more

I'm not sure if the owner has changed but the coffee is not what it used to be. I'm not a coffee snob but I am a flat white aficionado and it has been a challenge finding a good one in metro vancouver. The manager (older woman, I've not seen her before) insisted the flat white has always been the same, the recipe has not changed. She refused to listen when I said I had the flat white here before and it was always good. She kept saying maybe I had it elsewhere and I should go somewhere else in future. This is a case of not trying to delight the customer or to listen to the customer's feedback. Her mind is made up. To her credit, she refunded me the money and then basically told me not to come back here again. So the 1-star review for her attitude and way to drive customers away. She did the flat white twice and the second time was horrendous. The espresso was not only bitter but super acidic. I wish coffee shop owners and baristas know what a flat white actually is before putting on a menu. Or go read up about it. It's already very rare to find a flat white in vancouver that actually has that velvety mouthfeel of a flat white. I'm not even asking for that. But to fob off an acidic coffee when remaking a coffee, that's terrible. I guess I won't be coming back anytime soon unless they change staff again. read more

**COVID REOPENING REVIEW** As usual, the husband and I try new coffee places by ordering their cappuccino. There are 4 sizes to choose from so you won't be stuck with a certain volume limit. All drinks are served by paper cups due to COVID situation. There are seating inside (very spaced out) with a large patio that allows outdoor seating as well. The cappuccino is not bad - we have a preference for strong flavours and the coffee was just a tad too light for us. The milk was a bit thin. However, the pricing is reasonable. Not a bad coffee joint to be stuck in though as the atmosphere is quite calming. read more

I walked by this store couple of times before but had never tried their coffee. I saw a sign saying under new ownership so I gave it a try. Ordered a latte and it was good! Also had a tuna melt cheddar panini, was delicious. Staff are very friendly! Will definitely stop by again. read more

This place used to be "The Java Hut" and I believe they just renovated and renamed, they now serve gelato and they've actually got a pretty good selection. I've gotten the pistacio and the tiramisu. Service is great here, they're always super friendly - sometimes when there's a few people ordering it's a wait to get your food and pay because there's only 1 person working but not a big deal. It's very well maintained, clean, and definitely looks more trendy after the renos. Reasonably priced gelato! We ended up picking pistachio and Reese. Gelato was creamy. Generous portion for the price. Pistachio tasted pretty good and as described. The Reese had large chucks of peanut butter covered chocolate. It did not taste the same as a true Reese peanut butter cup, but it was a great imitation. read more

Came here one Friday night nearing the end of summer. Nice little place but not too busy at all. In fact, it was pretty dead. Maybe one person in the shop ordering before us. There were a few others filtering in and out throughout the time we were there. Service is quite friendly which I think will bring people back. The gelato was good, but I'm no gelato connoisseur. Had the coconut flavor but it tasted suspiciously creamy and like ice cream. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing when it comes to gelato. Compared to other gelato in town, the scoops here are definitely way more affordable than the big hitters in town (Bella and La Casa... looking at you guys). My friends and I sat on the patio right outside which is nice. Definitely beneficial on a hot day to enjoy the heat and be shaded at the same time. I would come back if ever in need of gelato. read more

Oh my God, the people are so nice! I was helped by two girls, one of them was a barista and the other was by the gelato section and they were both sooooo wonderful! I'm definitely coming here again. This little joint is fairly well hidden at this little mall, but is a great place to go for a coffee and gelato. The patio is very nice when the weather cooperates. The gelato sleection isn't massive (16-20 choices), but the flavours and quality are top notch, and they are generous with the scoops. The owner and workers there are super friendly, and they have done a great job of upgrading the place the past year. read more

I have to say this is one of my favorite espresso places when in the area. They have done such a massive improvement on coffee and selections in store. The staff are are very friendly and very well trained on all espresso drinks. It does show that others ar2 also noticing as it's always busy now. Owner and staff are very friendly. However,food is not made in the order it was taken, they will serve their "regulars" first. Simple menu with paninis, coffee, & gelato. Though their pnaninis are tasty, unfortunately when they don't clean their grill enough you will get a lot of burnt/charred bits in the grooves of the panini, so their paninis are not made the same each time. read more

Good news! Swift has a new owner. June 1st, 2017 the new cadillac of espresso machines was installed. Soon the name will change to CuppaJoe. Every time I come in there is an improvement. The same friendly staff are here. Watch this space. Over the next 6 months big things will happen. read more
