This is my absolute favorite coffee shop in Austin! My go-to is the iced Nutella Mocha with soy and it is to die for! Wonderful deep coffee flavor perfectly complimented with sweet, dark chocolate nutty goodness. I've yet to have a sub-par drink from them and their specialty drinks are so intriguing and creative! I've been frequenting this place for a while now. I love their atmosphere inside and the vanilla iced latte is delish. Plus the staff is always super sweet and friendly. But my experience today was especially amazing! Some person parked in front of the drive way lane and blocked me in. The staff was unable to locate the owner of the car so one of the baristas backed my car all the way out the drive thru lane for me! My husband and I have been coming here EVERY DAY for 7 years. These gals work their asses off and always make our mornings special and brighter! There have been several employees over the years whom we have enjoyed talking to, but getting to know the ladies (and one gentleman on the weekend) that are there now has been a treat. Casey, Megan, Lexi, Kelsie and Arlene are all so kind, warm and friendly that our 3yo daughter calls them her "friends" and can't wait to see them every day. Any customer-facing role can be tough, but imagine having to face people who haven't had their coffee yet all day long. Picturing the level of discourteous, rude and disrespectful people they must encounter on a daily basis makes me angry and I just have to check a few of the negative recent reviews.... If you order enough drinks to require a carafe, go inside. When the "white lady" tells you to be considerate of others when ordering multiple drinks, she's speaking on behalf of the other customers who aren't ordering for everyone they know. Also, race makes no difference-if you're seriously upset, take a second and learn the employee's name if you're going to be a keyboard warrior and share your complaint. But also be courteous and go inside so you don't have to inconvenience everyone with your obnoxiously long order. Also, I'm going to go out on a very sturdy limb and say you're full of it because I doubt anyone would ask you to be courteous of others if you did ONLY have a 2 drink order. That's just illogical and, I'm confident, false. Being behind jerks like this is incredibly frustrating when I'm only ordering two drinks-you're rude, not them. I appreciate them speaking up for the rest of us who are reasonable customers and imagine others are, too. Next, I have witnessed first-hand verbal abuse to the women who work there. If you think you're so entitled to superior treatment, go somewhere else for your coffee. See if anyone gives an eff about who you are or the quality of your drink like these employees do. You'll be in for a real shock and see if the owner replies to you directly-I'll bet your superiority complex will be shaken and put in check REAL quick. I just want to say thank you to Allan and his wife for defending your employees when appropriate and hiring exemplary people regularly. I honestly don't know why I keep coming back here. Maybe because it's close by and has a drive thru? The service is always great, but that's the extent of what this place has to offer. Yes, they have tons of fancy syrups to put in your coffee. But in all honesty, it's a glorified Starbucks. I would actually pick Starbucks over this place because at least I can taste the coffee in their drinks. I constantly have to order my drinks with little syrup and extra espresso, and I still feel like I'm drinking flavored milk as opposed to a latte. Cozy coffee places are my guilty pleasure. So, obviously I wanted to check this place out. Do not be fooled by the bland outer surroundings, for once you enter the coffee place, you will find yourself in a magical world of snugly ambience with the aroma of coffee filling the air. I was feeling indulgent so I ordered the Ghirardelli chocolate and cinnamon. And OH MY GOD, I literally had to stop myself from going to the counter and ordering another one. These guys know just exactly how to treat their chocolate ! Not they haven't utilized their space well, but a bigger area would definitely help them accommodate the high number of customers they get. I almost always have a good experience here. I visit quite often, actually. This morning however, different story. I arrived as soon as they opened at 6am as the store was just being opened. I politely asked if they needed a few minutes to get ready before I placed my order. The girl seemed very angry and answered me with, "no! We are open!" I asked her name so I could apologize if I happened to come off as rude unintentionally, but she refused to give me her name or even make eye contact. She's the one with VERY BRIGHT RED HAIR , though and I'd be shocked if this is your first ever complaint about her. ....The one with purple hair was totally cool. Probably my last visit. A GOOD coffee shop with GREAT values! Especially during the time of COVID-19, I am more than grateful to have a local coffee shop with a drive-through option. I felt safe as all employees showed to be wearing masks and carried a positive tone to their voice as I ordered. As for the coffee, their flavors are very unique to any other coffee shop I have been to. The coffee scientists in the back do a good job interpreting the taste they wish to mimic. While I do appreciate their interesting take on caffeinated beverages, I highly respect the power and will they have to advertise their morals to better the public. In light of everything going on in the world, arriving to the drive through window to see a Black Lives Matter poster with several other sentiments posted below, I couldn't help but smile and be proud of where I'm from; Austin, Texas, a place of weirdness, love, peace, and equality. Appearances can be deceiving. This place looks pretty boring from the outside but it's actually pretty cozy on the inside. There's plenty of seating and there's plenty of outlets so it's the perfect place to order something and do work. Speaking of ordering, there's so many different drink options to choose from! There were so many that I was honestly overwhelmed but the workers are so sweet and helpful. I recommend getting the iced honey and almond latte. read more

Love this place :) My fiance and I come nearly every morning to do some work and grab some treats. The staff is so incredibly friendly and helpful. Kacee has some magical powers where she can pick the best lemon poppy seed bread from the whole batch. It's such a warm and welcoming environment and the music is just the right volume. I'm also impressed by the selection or such a cozy place. They have all the coffee flavors you can imagine and even tasty breakfast tacos in the morning. Really enjoy this place! Come here to study quite a bit. While it can get busy it's a really nice place with good priced coffee. The WiFi is easy to connect too! The employees are very welcoming. My wife and I came to this place, because we got a free drink vouchers in our mailbox. Upon entering we noticed that the environment was nice. They also had a good selection of desserts to choose from, and many latte flavors that look delicious! However, the music in this place is very unfitting, and atrocious. It loses the coffee shop vibe, with the constant beating of electronic music. Many of the lyrics were unwholesome and contain the n-word at some points. It really didn't feel like a good place to sit and talk or read. I like most things about this place, but the music made me straight up want to leave. So we did. read more

Nice, quiet place for working and a nicer change from a Starbucks. If you are looking for something local, this is pretty much it as far as coffee shops in the area. They also have a drive thru if you don't want to get out of your car. I usually order a drip, black; but like to treat myself to their delicious Cuppa Mocha coffee. I'm looking forward to trying the Korean drink on the menu. The pastries and breakfast tacos (served all day) are OK, nothing that I'd go out of my way for. Since I'm short, the couches are a bit too low for the tables. However, the place is usually empty during the midday so it's easy to find a table with chairs. HOLY COW I AM COMPLETELY OBSESSED WITH THIS COFFEE SHOP. This is hands-down the best coffee shop I have ever been to. Their flavors are so delicious and rich...they beat Starbucks by a landslide. Here are all the things I love about Cuppa Austin: - They use soy, almond, coconut, and skim milk, on top of regular creamer. - You can have pretty much any drink blended, iced, or hot - The baristas are so sweet and nice; even if you have 1000 questions, they want to help you and don't treat you like you're an idiot - The atmosphere is conducive to studying I have always disliked that Starbucks refuses to stock almond milk in their stores; I am dairy-free, and I do not care for the way that soy tastes, so it is always a hassle when I get drinks from Starbucks. Cuppa uses almond milk though and I couldn't have been more pleased on my first visit! Also, the main reason I went to this place, was so that I could study. Starbucks is always chaotic and loud, which is fine, but even when the store is slow, the baristas are always SO NOISY (at least at the ones near my house). At Cuppa, there is white noise, such as the Pandora station that plays in the background, but for the most part, it is very easy to be productive there. Yes, they are a little more pricier per cup than Starbucks is (about $1 more per size of coffee on average) but the flavor is so much better and the coffee choices blow Starbucks out of the park. They have a 'coffee card' which can be loaded with cash, and includes a 'buy 10, get 1 free' offer. There is also a drive-through service for those on the go. They also keep track of what coffee you've ordered in the past in their system in the off chance that you forget what you ordered last time. Also, as far as I know, I am not charged when I sub almond milk for creamer which I really appreciate! So far I have had the - Cuppa austin latte - Iced vanilla latte - Irish soda (very refreshing!) and the Frozen Honey Almond Latte AND IT IS TO DIE FOR! It is now my new favorite and it will be very hard for me to deviate from it from now on! All-in-all, I am going to be depressed when I leave for school and have to find another coffee shop to study at! read more

This place used to be Scooter's Coffee. It's was no Starbucks, but it sure as heck gave me more bang for my buck. Now, new owners have taken over this anchor store right down the road from my apartment complex and I was very hopeful! Great location and a drive thru won me over. I am always on the go. But my first visit yielded 2 completely different beverages ordered exactly the same way! Different amounts of milk, foam, flavor....just disappointing. Not to mention that I waited 7 minutes for my order and I was the only one in the drive (or the store for that matter). I chalked it up to a soft grand opening that needed some serious coordinating. Today, I ordered an iced soy dirty chai. After waiting 10 minutes for the 2 cars ahead of me to get their orders, I was contemplating leaving but there's no way out of that place. Once you're in...you're in. When I pulled up to the window, the owner was the one preparing my drink and she hands me a shot of hot espresso in a cup. The look on my face made her second guess my order then she asked for the cup back. I repeated my order and I received a watered down, oddly banana-protein-ish flavored drink with a hint of cinnamon and a splash of burnt coffee. I had to head to the office so I called the shop when I was able and reached the most unsympathetic of ears. I don't know with whom I spoke, but the gentleman on the line said, "Ya, we're really just experimenting on that one." No apology, no desire to rectify the situation...just a bland excuse for a half ass attempt at what should have been a tasty beverage. They've certainly lost what could have been a loyal client. Moved to Austin recently from the emerald city so looking for a local coffee shop to support. Rather give my business to a small business than Starbucks. Have visited twice and had two different experiences. First visit on a Sunday morning. Barista was an older gentleman who was friendly, welcoming, and made me feel like he was glad I was there. Ordered mocha and one of their breads. He offered to heat it, made sure I had one of their frequent coffee drinker cards, and checked in later to make sure I was pleased. Great first experience. Second visit on a Tuesday morning. They are a bit out of the way between home and work, but thought after my first visit it would be good to see how long it would take and whether they would be a good regular stop. Second visit was less successful. Coffee was bitter, barista was abrupt, and no offer to heat my bread. Barista didn't ask if I had one of their cards and sighed loudly when I mentioned I had one. Thought this might be worth the drive, and will give them another shot, but after the second visit not so sure worth going out of the way for. Will see... read more

The staff is knowledgeable, and it doesn't feel like an assembly line like it does at the local Starbucks. They do have a drive through. Last week, I was in the middle of a tough spot. I'd only had a few hours of sleep, had a big meeting, most of my projects were going through massive changes and I had just thrown a lot of work into a project that just came to a close. I felt pretty exhausted as I drove home from my meeting, deciding to reward myself with my favorite drink at my favorite coffee shop - a frozen mint chai tea with mocha (It's delicious.... tastes just like a thin mint cookie). I pulled up to the drive-thru and tried to pay but neither of my cards were working....the girl behind the counter said, "Well, our owner doesn't want you to leave without your drink"... And they let me go even though I hadn't paid! I came back today to pay for last week's drink (because I'm a regular and would like another frozen mint mocha chai tea, please)... Well, I've learned two valuable lessons: 1. You must activate bank cards if you expect them to work (oops. Silly me!) and 2. You just can't put a price on good business. Love these people! read more

If Cuppa Austin was closer to me, I would go there more. The venue is clean, comfortable and all around just super relaxing. They have a cool couch area where you can have meetings or just relax and meet new stangers who are friendly. On my first trip there, an older lady offered me half of her banana bread because she knew she wasn't going to eat it. Old school nice people.
