Yum!! I come for Breakfast but everything on the menu is awesome. I have never been disappointed. I like the skillet breakfast. The ambiance is awesome too. read more

Very tasty! Big portions quality food. Moderately priced. I would def go here again. I ordered an omelet with avocado cheese and turkey chorizo, potatoes and toast. read more

My husband and I recently moved to Tucson from North Carolina and our friends that are locals suggested we try this "different" place to eat, and OH MY is Cup Cafe delicious. We have been back multiple times since being introduced, and every time is just as wonderful as the first. The ingredients are fresh, portions are HUGE, service is impeccable, and the outdoor seating is lovely, but beware of flies of course! One of our favorite restaurants in Tucson so far! read more

Amazing food, great service and friendly staff. Cant go wrong eating here. And don't forget the bloody mary!

The first night in Tucson, we went downtown to the beautiful Hotel Congress and took advantage of the happy hour menu. What a treat! We had the fried hummus fritter wrap to share (two order since there were four of us) which were a little messy to eat, but a good way to get your veg on. I had a fish taco, the husband had a pork belly taco. The husband didn't like the texture but it was tasty. The nachos though ... are fabulous. Great cheesy sauce, the beans (on the bottom) were wonderfully spiced, and lots of tortilla chips. I could bathe in the nachos. The husband and had iced tea to drink, and there was good tea flavor to the beverages. We sat out on the patio and watched people enjoying themselves in the warm air of southern Arizona. The wait staff were friendly, and accommodating as we waited for our fourth person to join us. Cup Cafe would be a great place for a happy hour drink date, or a dinner business meeting. Great parking options, too. read more

Amazing breakfast, was nervous to try, cause I am picky when it comes to breakfast meals...but I was not disappointed, food was delicious, defenetly going back soon!! read more

The atmosphere is lovely. The tortilla soup was thin and bland. The spinach was so delicious!! The fish tacos were also bland. They needed an aioli or avocado/sour cream addition. The fish was done well though- not heavy or greasy. read more

This food was seasoned beautifully. I would have rated it a five star but disappointed to find a piece of plastic in my salad. The vinaigrette had a perfect balance. read more

Over the last year, every one and their mother (wait...let's leave the yo-mama jokes at the door), think they can run a restaurant downtown. Now we love downtown but are incessingly vexed and frustrated by the bad service and inconsistent food. In the culinary clutter the Cup stands out as a becon of simple, clean and reliable eats. So here is what we love: the depot salad. Downtowns tastiest and most filling entree salad, a lush bed of mixed greens, cheery tomatoes, sliced avocado topped with steak medallions.. The Queer Steer and Real Thing are go to favorite and perfectly accompdaed both the vegetarian and carnivore. The Ghost Orchid Cocktail is amazing as is late night picacho nachos. The revolving desert case always provides ample opportunity for well chosen calories. read more

I have always had a great experience at the Cup. The food is tasty and the quality is always consistent. I recommend the "Heart Breaker" and "Thompson's Automatics". Also leave room for desert. It is well worth it. A special thanks to Joe and the rest of the staff for always taking care of us when we are there. read more

Such a fun atmosphere and amazing food. The bread was exceptional and my boyfriend and I split an appetizer and the chicken and gnocchi and it was plenty and delicious. We went on a Wednesday and they were playing a movie on a projection screen on the patio and although we were seated close to it, it was not an interruption. Great service, highly recommend! read more

The food here in The Cup Cafe is excellent whether you go for dinner or lunch. I was there two days ago for lunch and they served me some exquisite butternut squash bisque. Been there for dinner as well and have yet to have any disappointing food, this is one of the better places to have a meal in Tucson. read more

Best Bloody Mary's in town! Every time I go there with my family were never disappointed! Ooooo and the skillets YUM!

I have thoroughly enjoyed dining with you over the past six years. I will miss the Cast Iron Baked Eggs and Depot Salad more than words can describe. Next time I come through Tucson, please have a slice of Raspberry Cheesecake ready for me. Thanks! read more

I don't have much to add here that hasn't already been said. This place, and the hotel that it resides in, is a Tucson institution. Excellent breakfasts, great brunches (if you can get a seat!), delicious weekday lunches and superb bistro dinners. Tremendous history and a cool copper penny floor. Hipsters, T-locs, sleepy UA students, snowbirds, and the well-heeled that work downtown...everyone eats here. Parking can be a pain because it's downtown, but with the streetcar, now you have no excuse. read more

We just had brunch and I can say without a moment's hesitation it was one of the most enjoyable meals I've ever had the pleasure of eating. I had Baked Eggs with the addition of avocado and green chilis at the suggestion of our fantastic waiter Keith. Other dishes ordered were an omelet which was reported as very good, eggs and trout reported as both perfectly cooked and "out of this world", and huevos rancheros, also spectacular. The service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive with worthwhile suggestions, which we took, while being extremely busy in the packed restauant. The restaurant was full, a normal Sunday occurrence according to Keith, and noisy. There was a very good jazz band playing in the lobby. We'll happily go back often and will recommend it without reservation. read more

Found this place on a road trip from Fort Worth to San Diego. It was listed on Bring Fido and we had our dog with us. Stopped for lunch on a Saturday. Seated immediately outside by very friendly people. They brought our dog water right away without asking. Keith was our server and was great. I had the SW Caesar Salad with grilled chicken, spicy dried mango, and polenta croutons. My husband had a steak salad with avocado, shaved Parmesan, and tomatoes topped with crispy onions. The iced tea was excellent too! The location is great, it's in an old hotel and looked like the nightlife was probably great too! read more

Cute breakfast spot in Congress Hotel. We enjoyed the art and the kitchiness of the lobby and restaurant. My husband and I both ordered omelettes and both enjoyed our meals. The fruit was fresh and the service was good. Pleasant meal and experience. read more

We recently hosted an event at Hotel Congress in the Copper Room for our company's 10th Anniversary celebration. My experience has been that these kinds of things can be stressful - depending upon who you are working with. High five to Meilssa Matriss & her staff for making ours one we shall never forget. Not one single detail was left to chance and it was so easy to work with Melissa. We had spinach salad which was fresh and the leaves tender topped with chicken (for us meat eaters) that was cooked and seasoned to perfection and delicious served with some out of this world dressing and two kinds of desserts (one was a brownie and the other something equally as yummy.) People were literally wrapping them up in napkins so that not a morsel of them got wasted. Our staff actually commented that "all the plates went back empty." The extra star? We had handouts and there were a helpful team of people from Hotel Congress there to take them off our hands so that we could great guests and take care of the other things that go along with hosting an event that is so meaningful. And as an environmental educator, I immediately noticed the very classy ReFresh water glasses on the table. I know that company well and they used recycled wine bottles to make glasses out of that really and truly are classy. read more

Great , I mean great cold brew. I got the huevos rancheros and it was definitely very flavorful and looked as appealing as it tasted. Cannot wait to go back to this restaurant. read more

I took a 4-week long road trip from L.A. to D.C. and back. I ate and drank all over the country, and the Cup Cafe inside the Hotel Congress in Tucson was my favorite place. The ambience, the drinks, and the food is amazing. I really enjoyed the Cast Iron Baked eggs and the Pesto Pasta with shrimp. DELICIOUS! read more

This place was soooo yummy!! My honey and I were there today for breakfast. I got the Huevos Rancheros, which was crazy DELICIOUS!! Potatoes are fresh with bell peppers and huevos rancheros were on freshly cooked tortillas. My honey got the steak and eggs, steak cooked perfectly (and he's a steak snob!) We were both so unbelievably satisfied with our food. Staff was also very friendly and wait for table was quick. We will def be back!!! read more

Great food, Great atmosphere, love the copper floor! a little over priced but still very very good!!!

What a cool place in the historic Congress Hotel. Had the Gunpowder breakfast with turkey chorizo, I reckon end getting scrambled eggs with it cuz I had over medium and they were gone before I was halfway done. Patio is dog friendly. read more

Wonderful atmosphere and food! Extremely tasty, great service and setting, and surprisingly affordable! I would say this was a near perfect experience, except my girlfriend and I weren't too impressed with her Bolognaise.. it was really cold for some reason. Highly recommend the special they had.. was Trout with a peach glaze dressing and a risotto side - absolutely to die for and only $20, I was amazed. Will definitely be coming back, would love to sit outside next time once it's cooler outside.. looks great out there. read more

It comes down to what you'd expect for a restaurant in a hotel lobby. Definitely sit down , they will accommodate anyone for the right price, but the actual place is confined. We were seated by the kitchen and treated to the smell of old fish. We were in a rush and it took almost 30 minutes on a slow night to get an order of fries. The place wasn't crowded at all. read more

Maybe the best soups we have ever had anywhere.....We eat lunch there a couple of times a week and are impressed with the quality of the food every time.Someone in the kitchen understands flavors because every thing we order is spot on even the burgers.I'm getting hungry thinking about it.Good service and nice venue...A+ read more

Have been coming here for bloody Mary's on Sunday for quite some time now, finally thought it was time I let everyone know how delicious they are!!! Sunday they have a build your own bloddy mary bar, mine had cucumber, cilantro, capers and dill pickle, it was seriously the BEST I've ever had!!! read more

This was the worst experience I have had in a long time! I couldn't even get past the hostesses to get into the restaurant. Not a big party 4 and a high chair asked to sit inside. NOT COMPLICATED. After waiting for 40 min(on a 30-35 min wait). I went to them and asked about how much longer it would be. He clarified that we wanted to sit inside and said he was getting something ready maybe 5 min. When he called us back up after 3-4 min he said follow me outside!? I then referred to the conversation that we just had and said we asked to be inside the girl then said that somehow we were down for first available and started arguing with me. We then left. If this was my business and had seen this interaction both of the childish hostesses would be looking for a new job and I would have chased down the customers! This is also the second time that something like this has happened and will never even attempt to support this local business again. read more

Mmm, baked egg...rich and heavy, but a nice way to start the day as the weather is cooler. Get there early though!

The eggs Benedict was delicious! They have a great variety of lattes and their cake display definitely tempting! We will be back!

I'd been here a few times for brunch, but recently went for dinner with my parents. The vegetarian portobello dish was one of best dishes I've ever eaten. Of course, the ambience there is always cool, being in Hotel Congress. This will be one of my standard places to take visitors. read more

Incredible spot for brunch, with fantastic food and drink, including a build your own Bloody Mary bar on certain days of the week.

Food is outstanding!! Meatloaf sandwich is out of this world! Baked Eggs(I get them with Turkey Chorizo instead of Ham) is incredibly tasty! Busy place on Sunday mornings but haven't had much trouble with the wait any other time. read more

favorite breakfast joint in town. silverside hash is amazing. bloody mary bar is overrated but the patio isn't.

Really delicious breakfast and one of the nicest looking places for it. The outdoor area is beautiful. The food is a little on the pricey side so you should be aware of that before going, but it's amazing nonetheless. read more

I had the cast iron baked eggs this morning, and this was the best breakfast I've had in three years in Tucson. Possibly, this was the best breakfast I have ever had. Don't let the "baked" fool you-- this is high-calorie indulgence. Two eggs are baked in cream in a four-inch cast iron pan which is then set before you. The eggs are topped with melted Gruyere that is beautifully toasted to golden and dark brown perfection. Surrounding the eggs are cream and leeks and cubed ham. I chose to drip on some Tabasco and give it all a hearty dash of black pepper and then I dipped my baguette slices in the delicious sauce. I ate the eggs last and the yolks were just the way I like them, firm with some sauce to them, like those of a soft-boiled egg. Bravo, Cup Cafe. You know how to do it right. read more

They have the best fish and chips in town and the baked eggs are my favorite dish in Tucson. After eating, head over to the bar and relax with a drink. read more

My husband and I have been wanting to try this café for a long time, and finally we got a chance to stop in. We had our choice of lunch or breakfast menus and we both decided to go for breakfast. I ordered the well-known baked eggs and my husband ordered the creole breakfast. We really enjoyed the atmosphere of this unique setting, and the service was very good. Sorry to say neither of us were blown away by the food. My baked eggs had a good flavor because of the Gorgonzola cheese and leeks, but the ham cubes underneath were swimming in kind of a watery sauce. The potatoes and peppers seemed under cooked to me, and the bread I got along side was completely ordinary as were those little packages of jam and jelly. My husband's creole breakfast came with mediocre sausage, gravy that didn't taste like it had been made from sausage, and biscuits that should not even be called that because they were just little mounds of dough, nothing resembling a true biscuit. Really sorry to post a negative review, But we just didn't really enjoy it that much. read more

I have eaten at the The Cup many times over the years. We had a reservation at 5:45 so we would have time to eat and then walk to the Fox Theater. While we were waiting to order a woman tried to steal my friend's purse. It was very upsetting to all of us but especially to her 6 year old daughter who hid behind a wall and was crying and inconsolably. The Cup staff immediately came to table to see if we were OK and called the police. However, the service we had after the attempted purse snatching was very poor. We had made it very clear when we sat down that we needed to order as we had a show at 7. I had to ask someone to take our order. Our food did not come until 6:30. So we tried to eat very fast as we needed to leave at 6:45 to be on time to the event. I had to ask for our checks. Given the lateness of getting our food we did not have opportunity to say anything about the quality. My friend had the butternut squash gnocchi, the gnocchi was burnt, black on one side and the chicken was so dry. The chicken fingers for the 6 year old were fake chicken. My ribs were so fatty that I only had time to eat two because it took so long to cut the fat out. The staff made no offer to comp my friends dinner, they did offer to give the child a cookie which she refused as she was still very upset. All and all it was a very uncomfortable experience. I understand that it was not the The Cup's fault that there was a thief in the dinning room area, however, they could have made sure we got our food in a timely manner and that it was cooked properly. The gnocchi should not have even been plated. read more
