Best food my husband and I have had so far in Tucson! We went on a Sat night, so it was very busy but the service was still pretty good. The heartbreaker appetizer is a must!!! Such a great combination of unique flavors blended to perfection. I had the Sweet potato plantain tamale, OH BOY was it yummy!! It was a vegetarian dream meal, with the perfect blend of sweet, spice and comfort food. My husband had the beef brisket and he was in heaven too. Great combination of side items for the main meal. We also had some very good mixed drinks, but forgot the name. I really recommend this place! read more

The Cup is probably my favorite restaurant in Tucson! I enjoy bringing friends from out of town here. The food is always great, so is the atmosphere and the people working there are always very friendly! A great downtown spot! read more

Staff and clientele here friendly and interesting. Recommend: "Omelette Bar: albeit not really a "bar" in the salad bar sense of the word. You tell them which of the numerous ingredients you want and they bring it to your table prepared. If the coffee was better I'd rate at Five, but it's your Standard American Restaurant brew, a.k.a. "dirt coffee" as my charming and eloquent wife terms it... read more

We sat outside on a cold morning, but the two heaters they set up next to our table kept everything but our feet toasty. The food was mediocre average. I had the huevos rancheros and found the dish flat- the beans are bland (they are vegan), so was the cheese. I could barely find my egg- I think there was only one. I got the turkey chorizo sausage on the side and I found it too spicy. It's turkey chorizo- why can't restaurants serve pork chorizo? Turkey may be healthy, but it lacks flavor, so all you taste is the overpowering spice. Our waiter noticed I didn't eat the sausage so he removed it from our bill. We all had decaf lattes and liked that they were served in beer mugs. My mom had the brisket over toast with eggs; that was much tastier than my dish. read more

Very good re commendation by the girl at blue bottle coffee. Had the buckwheat pancakes, eggs and bacon. It reminded me of the pancakes my Gramma made years ago. Really fresh and delicious. The other dish ordered at my table was the skillet corned beef hash and eggs. They pickle their own beef and it was superb. We brought our coffee from across the corner but heard they do roast their own beans so it would be worth a try. Great place for breakfast, so glad we stopped in. read more

Food was great! I ordered the gunpowder. The servers could do a better job of explaining the menu, as we weren't familiar with the dishes. There was also a smashed dead bug in our menu.. eek but that didn't stop us. Cool atmosphere! read more

Cup Cafe is probably one of the best staples of downtown Tucson eating. The atmosphere is warm, the staff cordial and exceedingly competent, and the location itself beaming with history and charm. The menu is somewhat simple which makes for easy pickins, items are offered determined by quality- not overloading consumers with quantity that falls short in the taste department. Weekend waits can be a bit long- but if you're able to mosey around while you wait (hostess will text you) it's well worth the trip. Dinner service can also be busy some nights, though the lot dining room or cozy patio totally suffice as payoff. Great wine selection and delicious dessert, too! If you're looking for a safe bet and stuck between where to go... this is the best choice you'll make. read more

I love this place. They allow dogs on the patio, which I love. They have great bloody Mary's and our food was awesome. It's in a lovely historic hotel with great ambiance. read more

I used to go to Club Congress all the time to dance, but now that I discovered they also have amazing food I hang out there even more.

Cup Cafe is one of my favorite places for brunch. Their bloody Mary's are amazing and their service is great. Only negative is the wait but it is totally worth it. read more

Food with a southwest flare. Service with a smile. Downtown hipster chic. But with that famous tucson casual vibe. Yummy food and great drinks. read more

So tasty and the atmosphere is great. Great place to take out of towners. Try their orange blossom ice tea, flourless chocolate cake and Eggs & Gunpowder... they're all delicious. read more

YES YES YES YES! Everything about the breakfast my girlfriend and I shared was absolutely stellar. From the coffee to the French toast we split to the main course. I ordered the cast iron baked eggs and was blown away by the combination of all the ingredients. Everything tastes fresh and the flavors were very thought out by the chef. The lady ordered 'The Braveheart'. Sucks for you all reading this review b/c they told us they were removing it from the menu! Best breakfast in Tucson, can't wait to taste dinner and drinks next time I come around. read more

Cup Café never disappoints! From their bloody Mary's to their quiche of the day. Everything I've ever ordered (and I've ordered a lot) it has always been delicious. read more

My husband and I visited for the first time this past weekend and were absolutely delighted by the whole experience. We're both blind and were given appropriate help while still being given the same reapect and treatment as the other customers. The Bloody Mary Bar was incredible (thanks Taylor), the coffee drinks we ordered we're delicious and perfectly made (thanks to whoever there knows how to make a perfect Cubano), my husband still can't stop talking about how great your gravy was, and of course the customer service was excellent (thanks John). My husband has decided this is our new brunch spot so we look forward to seeing you all again. read more

Cup cafe was the first and last place we ate here at Tucson. Our server, Matthew, was quick on the draw when it came to keeping our coffee and waters topped off. The servings are big enough to fill the hungriest of people with my wife having much leftover after each visit. The food itself was infused with different tastes beyond what you would get at the general diner. We would recommend the deposition or the creole breakfast if you can handle a little spice. We plan on coming back during later trips. read more

Gone downhill. I've been coming here on and off while visiting Tucson for over 20 years. As recently as last fall all was good, decent value, ok service, nothing to complain about the food. Maybe because they are celebrating their 100th anniversary they are resting on their laurels. It seems all their good reviews are for breakfast. We went today after an opera matinee because it was familiar, decent food and they always had half price wine bottles on Sunday evenings. Made a reservation for 2 and when we arrived it took 3 hostesses 10 minutes to process 2 parties ahead of us, then they showed us to a really bad table (right next to the cake display in the line of traffic) despite a surfeit of perfectly fine tables for 2. I didn't accept the table and after a 10 minutes unsmiling wait they seated us at one of those empty tables inside. We asked for an outside one but were told by the unsmiling hostess that one of the empty tables for 2 outside. wouldn't be available for at least half an hour. We were there for over an hour and they never did fill up. Asked waitress about the half priced wine bottles and she didn't know anything about it. Well, that's ok, I guess they don't need to promote business on Sundays. Ordered a bottle of wine and a beer the waitress suggested. She came back 15 minutes later and told us neither was available. Ordered a different beer and wine. Wine bottle was cold but wine was not. Guess it had been in freezer for a few minutes. Told waitress and she volunteered an ice bucket. Great. She brought it out with a napkin on top and proceeded to put the wine bottle on top of napkin so it wouldn't touch ice and get cold. Obviously new to the trade. I ordered pan roasted salmon with broccolini and some nut and rice thing. As soon as it arrived and before we had a chance to taste our food waitress came by and asked how everything was tasting. To be polite and send her away we said "fine". As soon as she left the unsmiling hostess with the the dagger manicure came and asked the same meaningless question. Same polite answer. One had the feeling that this was just some perfunctory blather to ensure tip. The salmon was ok. the rest was pretty but wrong. It sat on a bland but colorful carrot puree, the brocilinni was crispy (uncooked) and rice and nut thing was tasteless. They need to get back to basics and hire competent waitstaff and real cookstaff instead of going through the motions. I guess they won't as it is a popular location and people will come anyway. Prices have gone up and quality down. I'll stay away until I have some notion that they get it but somehow I don't think they will anytime soon. I was very pleasantly surprised by imaginative an flavorful food at "Downtown" restaurant nearby 2 nights earlier. read more

Dinner is a little overpriced, but breakfast is always fun. It gets crowded, but not overly so, and there is an excellent bloody mary bar in the lobby to keep you busy while you wait. Service is fast and attentive, even on Saturday and Sunday mornings. read more

This used to be our favorite restaurant. We went in in the morning and we're told it would be 20 to 25 minutes they took my cell phone number to text a message. Never heard back. During that time half of the tables remained empty all morning. No need to ever go back. read more

went here with a friend to get the fried tofu sandwich. the food was so good, can't wait to go back to get it. service was a little slow, but it was right after they opened back up from being closed due to covid. definitely will be returning read more

Looked cute, desserts looked delish, but the service sucked! Didn't even get greeted. Everyone around us did but we did not. So, we left that place and went to the b-line and it was awesome. It always is. read more

Ok....cowboy coffee and gunpowder (turkey chorizo over eggs over easy on top of home made potatoes) never gets old!!!!!!! Sundays they have bloody marys bar... where it all goes. Every topping you can think of from bacon, blue cheese and you name it. Amazing Bloody mary's while you wait... because count on waiting. It's worth the wait. Don't forget it's in the historic club congress hotel and it is haunted... read the history on so much has happened in so many years ... fun place to spend some history time reading on and sight seeing. read more

A trip to Tucson would not be complete without a stop at this classic for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You cannot go wrong. Delicious and the floor is so great with the inlaid pennies. read more

This little gem of a restaurant is my families go to spot for breakfast. Everything is delicious, the atmosphere is perfection, and the service is always incredible. It's a must everytime I am back in Tucson for a visit. read more

Always have good service when I go there, wait time is a little long but usually very worth it, eggs in the cast iron skillet are amazing

Cup Cafe at Hotel Congress is a Tucson institution of the highest quality. We had reservations for a table for four, which included a wheelchair-riding companion. They had the perfect table waiting for us. The atmosphere, food, music and service were all great. Happy Hour prices a bonus. If you follow local doin's, you get the distinct impression that this place, and Maynard's across the way are quite public-spirited. It's really sweet to enjoy some time on the patio of either place, often with some nice music. read more

Causally visit... don't depend on them to deliver on a real occasion. Besides the fact that you should NEVER stay the night at Hotel Congress... never make plans that involve reservations at Cup Cafe... Bad idea... not a serious restaurant.. the business owners only care about their nightlife experience. read more

This was our first time at Cup Cafe. We were going to Maynard's which is across the street but decided to give this a try instead because Cup Cafe has more of a breakfast selection. The host told us it would be a 25 min wait so we waited and waited.. An hour later or so the host seated us.. Our server Geoff was super attentive!! Truly appreciated the manager with his efforts. The food was excellent!! There is something for eveyone. Great coffee selection. Full bar service. Kid's menu is super. The service and food was worth the wait! We'll be back again. read more

Disappointed. I ordered the tofu scramble this morning. The scramble itself was just ok. The vegan sausage was definitely some of the worst vegan sausage I've ever had. Super weird taste. & the toast was soggy. At least they gave a good amount of fresh fruit. read more

Food is great. Service is okay. It's understandable that giving estimates for wait times might not be an exact science, but letting someone slide in on your wait list spot then letting us wait an additional 30 minutes to sit down before figuring out why we aren't seated is unsatisfactory and just lazy. read more

A little pricey, but good food. Recommend it for lunch when it's not as hard on your wallet.

This place is GREAT to take people who are visiting from out of town! The menu has the perfect amount of Southwestern and indigenous Sonoran plant influence without being silly. The mimosa and bloody mary bar for Sunday brunch is absolutely amazing, but I recommend getting a reservation because it can get a little crazy. On weekdays, it's a great place for a business lunch, family breakfast, or get together with friends. Not to mention the fact that it's reasonably priced! I love coming to Congress for drinks anyways-- why not start with dinner at Cup Cafe? read more

Nice welcome by Yel, great service by Joe & staff, and great ambiance at Hotel Congress & bar. Food was decent & wine + beer were great.

The food was good but the service was slow and lacking. I kept having to try to get our waitress' attention to get beverage refills and she never checked back until it was time to pay the bill! Get the hash, it was really outstanding! Just don't go here if you're in a rush. read more

The service was great and the food was good. I enjoy sitting out on the fantastic patio for happy hour.

Bad Hostes! i have visited the cup on other occasion, and the service was ok. But this time the Hostess was rude ignorant and most of all cold. I brought my family and friends from out of town to have a nice breakfast and enjoy the historic Hotel. but the only thing we got was an unpleasant greeting. To bad one of my family members is a producer for Anthony Bourdain. read more

Excellent! We had an incredible breakfast and service was great! Good frutopia- granola and eggs Benedict!

Normally I'd give this place 5 stars, especially for breakfast, but the service has gotten consistently apathetic. Customers are treated like a burden instead of people. If this was a one time observation, I'd shrug it off, since this is Tucson. But it's a trend amongst all servers here, and luckily for Tucsonans, the Cup is no longer the only game in town. It's a shame for such an institution to be brought down by crabby servers. read more

We were a party of 4 adults (one in a wheelchair) and one little one in a high chair at The Cup Cafe for Easter Brunch yesterday. We didn't mind the hour wait - we were expecting it, what we did mind was our waitress who acted like there was no urgency at all for anything! I have seen turtles move faster than this girl. We were seated outside and we could see her 10 feet away laughing and joking with other employees while we sat there will empty water glasses dying of thirst! We waited forever for her to bring the checks and then once she did get them and we were waiting for our change there she was again, talking and laughing. The food was good but the service left a lot to be desired. read more
