It was my first time visiting Culvers. It was about 3 pm on Monday 8 JUN 26 and while the drive through was fairly quick, the fries were luke warm, the hamburger the same and I'm not sure if they actually put catsup + mustard on it. Not at all like the food they sell/show on their commercials. For the money I won't go back. I'd rather pay half at another fast food place for mediocre food. read more

This Culver's is quickly falling off my list, and I hate to say that because of its close proximity to my apartment & campus. The staff are always nice, but the quality of food has gone downhill. My cheese curds were both overcooked and undercooked. Parts of my chicken tenders were so overcooked that it was hard to bite through them. The plus on my tenders is that they no longer have a weird spice/kick to them like they usually do (& I get the original tenders)! This location is always great, with phenomenal speed and service. After my partner and I moved into our place on the eastside of Milwaukee, this Culver's was the closest location to us, and we've been going here for about a year and a half now without ever experiencing any kind of issue or mix-up with our orders. On this most recent Sunday night, we ordered an 8-piece chicken tender meal with regular sizes of cheese curds and crinkle fries, and you can see from the photo we actually got closer to 10 tenders, which was awesome, as Culver's prices are a bit steeper than most fast food places. The food was fresh and hot, and I barely had to wait when I picked it up, as I ordered ahead on their website and checked in when I pulled into their parking lot. The staff is always super friendly and helpful, and the quality of the food has been nothing but top notch. This Culver's always seems to be CRAZY busy! But tip your hat to them, they seem to be pretty efficient in moving things along. Drive-through often backs up to E Capitol. I ordered delivery just to see how it was, as I have eaten inside and wanted to see how it did on a more complicated order. I love me some Culver's and this particular Culver's is a nice walk from my home turf of Riverwest. There always seems to be a line out to the street and beyond for people waiting to get that good stuff! The reason, Culver's Shorewood pumps out great burgers and the custard is the best! I've been here several times now and always enjoyed everything I get here. From the French fries to the burgers this Culver's is consistently awesome! Now that it's "summer" we sit outside and enjoy the fresh air and people watching to the fullest. This newfound spot to chill has honed me to the stereo system that pumps out old school R&B. It has been years, I am not exaggerating here, that I visited this Culver's location. Culver's and "healthy diet" certainly do not belong in a sentence together but special circumstances permit a breach in diet ;) I visited mid-week and delightful Abby took my order. She was so nice, and I mean genuinely, heartfelt nice. She was patience, polite, clear and concise, and properly verified my order. It's only food and I was hungry, but Abby went the extra mile to ensure I had a great experience at this location. My order was perfect (double cheeseburger basket, only ketchup and no yucky yucky mustard and onions, with a turtle sundae concrete mixer). My order was PERFECT. I'm not that picky.... I just hate mustard and onions! In the end, it was really the fantastic customer service that lead me to this 5 star rating and restored my faith in this establishment. This place is always hopping and as a result, it's always a little to a great deal dirty. The servers are always nice and friendly. The concretes are the bomb! However, you will never convince me that the food is all that great. I don't like butter burgers and I don't like the fries. I haven't tried the chicken yet, but I hear it's better than the burgers. Our final stop, #21 of 21 on our Milwaukee Burger Tour took us to the one and only Culvers (in Shorewood). First, let me say that Culver's is probably one of the most underrated burgers around. If Culver's was located elsewhere than the Midwest, we'd flock to it whenever we were in the area (like we do for In 'n out and did for Chick-fil-a, before they arrived), but because they're everywhere, we take them for granted. Secondly, I've never had bad Culvers, it's never disappointed and this trip was no different. I had the double cheese butter burger deluxe basket ($7.79 lettuce, cheese, mayo, pickles, red onion, tomato, fries) and my son had a double cheeseburger basket ($7.49, ketchup, cheese, fries). Bonus, the night we went cheese curds were $1 so we had those too. The bun is toasted, fits the burger well. The beef, for thin patties, was so juicy. The fries were very good this trip and the cheese curds tasted great, but weren't as melty as I prefer. Overall taste, my son said mmmmmmmmm, while the flavor combination for me with the crisp lettuce and red onion, beef, mayo, cheese let's you experience every flavor in each individual bite. Always a good experience at the east Capitol location. My order is always correct, staff always friendly, facility is always clean. I come here for lunch often and even when the drive-thru line is curving into the street the service is still a lot faster than most fast food restaurants. Culver's never disappoints! This location is still only doing drive thru and curbside orders only. My family and I ordered food via the drive thru and dined outside on the patio. I ordered the buffalo chicken tenders with fries and a Dr. Pepper. Every meal was made fresh and my food was piping hot which I like. The service was quick and the staff were cordial as they delivered food waiting patrons. I was able to ask another worker if we could get ketchup and salt without any issues. We came at a good time as cards started to fill up the drive thu lane and into the street. I would definitely remember this location on East Capital in Shorewood. My only request is that they mark which soda flavor is which. You could only tell my tasting the drink or by smell. read more

Spreading Illness and Disease! We had always enjoyed eating at Culver's, so my daughter was very happy to get a job there. Recently, she became ill and had to call in to work. She was still sick for her next shift and had to call in again. The manager said she couldn't come back to work until she had a note from the Doctor. She called the doctor on Monday, but he couldn't see her until Thursday. After seeing the doctor, she went to immediately to her manager and gave her the note from the doctor. Then they fired her! I guess Culver's would rather you show up sick and spread your illness to their customers! For your own safety and good health, I suggest you eat somewhere else! read more

If this ain't one of the busiest Culver's in Milwaukee, than it has to be in the top 5. The place has a constant line. I hadn't eaten lunch and it was 2:30 in the afternoon, so me and my wife went her for a late lunch. I ordered The Culver's double cheese burger, oddly enough I passed on the bacon, which is something I never do. I guess I didn't want to get too full before dinner. Anyway, I ordered the sandwich with the works and extra purple onions. My wife wasn't too hungry, so she ordered some new item they had on the menu, these pretzel balls with hot cheese whiz sauce. For some reason, I thought the pretzels weren't going to be good, I generally don't like pretzels that much. First off my burger was perfect, my wife and I split the burger. It was one of the many good burgers I've got from Culver's over the years. The fries were tasty as usual; my wife's pretzel balls were surprisingly scrumptious, I'd definitely get those again. I love Culver's. I find the majority of their food to be a cut above most other fast food places. For the most part, it is consistently good across-the-board. All of the restaurants that I have visited have been very consistent with food and service, except the Shorewood location. They seem to have difficulty at this location including your french fries in the Takeaway bag with the rest of your drive thru order. This has happened twice, in the early evening, in as many weeks. What is going on with Culvers in Brown Deer and Shorewood? I went to both and the food was AWFUL. 1st in Brown Deer, I ordered a butter burger, the service SUCKED but not as bad as the extra thin, flavorless, burned burger. The ice cream also tasted like ice milk not custard. 2nd in Shorewood, I tried again at a different location but with the same results, I ordered ice cream only and got ICE MILK. Ok there ice cream is good. Burgers ok not great. The fish sandwich is just the most disgusting thing I have eaten. So almost 10 bucks, fish sandwich, onion rings and a soda. If you're looking for a quick burger and fries, Culver's is a far better option than the usual fast food fare (McDonald's, Wendy's, etc.). Their burgers are cooked when you order them, not in advance. In addition, Culver's uses ingredients sourced from family farms which sets it apart in the fast food industry. And in true Wisconsin style, they serve excellent custard, including some creative flavor-of-the-day choices. The Shorewood Culver's is a great location for dinner before (or after) viewing the new Ghost Train which crosses Capitol Drive just west of the restaurant every evening. It's also easily accessible from the Oak Leaf Trail, making it a great location to stop and cool off with some custard during the summer. The staff are friendly and helpful, while the restaurant itself is always clean and well maintained.
