I was honestly REALLY excited to try this place since it's well known and my bf always raved about it since it was his favorite growing up! It was literally our first stop after they grabbed us from the airport lol! The butter burger is what I went for and then we just shared fries and cheese curds with everyone. I wish we had more cheese curds over here. They're so good!! Basically bite size mozzarella sticks lol. The butter burgers are super soft and SAUCED up which is perfect for me!! I love soft buns and lots of sauce in a burger. The meat was melt in your mouth goodness and the crinkle cut were surprisingly perfect?! I'm not a fan of crinkle cut but maybe they just suck over here lol! These were perfectly salted and crispy! Fantastic fast food joint. I wish they had grilled onions instead of raw but that's ok. Food came out really fast, as expected, and it felt like I was sitting inside a diner? Idk how to describe it but it definitely felt like I was in the 90's or something lol. Great spot and hope they one day bring it to Los Angeles lol! IG: @ammysalamii

Got to have Culver's to get butterburger, cheese curds, and custards when back in the Midwest. A family favorite, we have been going to Culver's for a long time since living in Wisconsin, but haven't been back in a while since moving to California, so took the opportunity during our Chicago visit to stop by for lunch on a Saturday. There was plenty of dedicated parking. It has a very similar set-up as other Culver's: you can enter from opposite sides, with 4 registers between (each with it's own line). It does take a bit of time for the food, so there are people waiting for their carryout order...the space can get crowded and a little confusing (when busy) to know who is in line and who is waiting. There was nobody in line when we came during lunch rush. One places and pays for your order, and then find a booth to sit (taking your numbered placard). There are self-serve beverage machine serving coke products (pretty good choice: 10 different dispensers), and an area to grab ketchup (no other condiments), napkins, straws. The food came fast (less than 10 minutes0, and was delivered with friendliness and an ask if anything else was needed. All the food was OK to pretty good. Culver's has never been the cheapest place to eat...this location wasn't cheap: two full meals with dessert cost around $35. We got two butterburgers: one single and one double, both with everything. The toppings are fresh (shredded lettuce, tomato slice, dill pickle slices) and are put at the bottom of the patty. It's a smash burger style, pressed on a hot griddle using only fresh, never frozen beef mixture (sirloin, chuck, and plate...they made people knew that in wisconsin).. The burger was good....was comparable to an in'n'out burger in terms of toppings, but for about twice the cost. The buns are toasted on the griddle with a pat of butter (i.e. why they call it a butter burger). The crinkle cut fries are always good here: crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside. We also got cheese curds, since it's the only major fast food chain that has them. It was fine, hitting the craving, but nothing compared to the deep fried fresh curds that you can get at bars in Wisconsin (though my daughter said hers squeaked when she ate them). They didn't offer any sort of dipping sauce with it (ranch often goes well with it). Finally, the custard (ice cream with egg) was good as always. There are usually two freshly made flavors available: vanilla and flavor of the day (each individual location's website will list it for the month). Today it was Chocolate oreo volcano, which was chock full of chunks (candy bits, oreo cookie pieces). Probably should have gotten vanilla, to get the full flavor (without it being drowned out by the chocolate). Service was excellent, all the way from order taking, to food delivery. You bus your own trays and grab your own fountain drinks, and gratuity is not expected. We also brought back custard, burger, fries, and cheese curds (as a separate order) for the folks who stayed home, and they really enjoyed it.

ORDER TYPE: Dine-in MEAL: Lunch MY ORDER EXPERIENCE: I heard that Culver's has very good custard and that drove me to this restaurant. This restaurant was sitting on a big lot by itself where the building was big, a lot of parking space and a drive thru. As soon as I entered the restaurant, there were counters on the right side and seating arrangement on the left side. Everything was organized. They had regular seating with tables and chairs, high rise tables and booth seating as well. There were quite a few people in the restaurant. Then, I went to the counter and had a glance over the menu then I was ready to order my food. I ordered a Value Basket as I wanted to make it a meal and save at the same time. The Value Basket comes with your favorite (Butter burger or any other favorite) + Side + Drink. I got Veggie Burger as my favorite, small Crinkle Cut Fries as side and a small Fountain Drink. Besides the Value Basket, I also got the Culver's popular frozen custard Brownie Batter Overload which was their Flavor of the Day. After my order, I was given a number and then I filled my drink and a bowl of ketchup at the refill station. I sat at a booth where the server brought me over the custard first and later my value basket. NOTE: Culver's has a Flavor of the Day Custard where one can get to try their popular frozen custard each day Please check the menu to check out their other favorites The Veggie Burger was filled with veggie patty, lettuce, tomatoes, and jalapenos. The bun was lightly butter toasted and the patty was alright. The burger was not greasy, oily and did not impress me much. The veggies seemed fresh. The name itself tells that it was crinkle cut fries and were nice and crispy when I dipped them in Mayochup (Ketchup and Mayonnaise mix). They had only diet Pepsi and diet root beer, so I opted for diet Pepsi. Then, I tried the most awaited dish, Frozen Custard. I got Brownie Batter Overload custard where it had dark chocolate brownie batter, salted caramel mixed with vanilla topped with chewy chocolate brownie chunks. The custard was fresh, creamy and it just tasted like heaven and tasted so good. There is no doubt because Culver's is best at it. Overall, it was my first time trying the custard and it just went very well and matched my expectations and everything else seemed alright. Customer service was good, and I also liked their signature blue color theme of everything. I might go back again to try some of their other custard flavors. PROS: They have a wide variety of frozen custards to try. CONS: It was interesting to know that there was no rewards program.

Friendly service; love that Culver's brings the food to the table! We were super hungry and the delux bacon cheeseburgers hit the spot! What I love about Culver's is that their burgers are hot and fresh, and they don't skimp on toppings--loads of lettuce, tomato, and pickle! I also recommend paying a little extra to upgrade your basket--baskets come with fries--and get the onions rings. Their onion rings were crispy and delicious!! We didn't get cheese curd on this visit, but that's another thing that they nail!

I'll start off with the too long; didn't read part: I have never, ever, EVER had such a horrible experience at a fast food restaurant in my life. The long version: we got there at 6:20pm and stood in line for about 5-7 minutes or so to order. This was mostly due to a small group of kids ordering. And that's fine. As a parent, I can live with this. While waiting in line, I noticed a gentleman waiting in the corner. Keep him in mind. We order; three sandwiches, a fry, an onion ring, a cheese curds, typically good things. Two separate orders, totaling the above. We then collected our numbers and went to stand off to the side. The staff: three people in the back cooking the food, the from cash register, the drive thru cash register, a person running food to drive thru, another person very slowly walking food to the drive thru, a person completing orders for the front. Thus, probably understaffed. Manager? What manager?? After we've been waiting about 5-8 minutes. The kids before us got their orders, a gentleman before us got his. The gentleman in the corner? Still waiting. Another 10 minutes pass. Orders for the dining room go out. More drive thru. The phone rings, and the person who had been taking orders goes to answer it; because the phone is priority over people inside the building? Was it someone calling to complain? No clue. Hangs up the phone, waddles off to the register again, but fails to help the food preparers, or the "Expedite" section. More time passes, and two kids that had ordered a fry and an ice cream apiece get their food. One of the expedite people bags food, doesn't call out a number, begins looking around the dining room for a number that is to go. Spots me, smiles and says "here you go!" My food: 20-25 minute wait... a burger, and fries. Guy in the corner, still waiting. He must've had a big order!? More time passes, the waddler in drive thru takes out one more order, the dining room slowly emptying of people who look full, but pretty annoyed. My significant other gets her bag. 25-30 minutes. As we're walking out, the gentleman in the corner is given his single bag with no drink. Mind, he was there longer. We finally get home after waiting 30 minutes for three sandwiches and three sides. We open our food and the picture shows what was next; my sandwich was cold, the cheese far from melted, my fries stuck to their container, and also cold. The cheese curds, originally one of my favorite things there, were cold enough they tasted like refrigerated cheese sticks. In the end, as I said, probably the worst fast food experience I've had. There's a Portillo's not far from this place. They take a while, but you won't end up with cold food that you eat because you're just that hungry. I don't know if it was the workers, or if they were just stupidly understaffed. But whoever manages this location, this falls on you. And you've dropped the ball so hard it's embarrassing. All in all, definitely NOT worth the wait.

I really enjoyed the mix-in with the fresh strawberries and peaches! Two scoops were more than filling for me and I DEFINITELY will go back to try more flavor combinations! This particular restaurant had lively staff who seemed to enjoy being there and were singing and having fun while giving us great customer service! Next time I'm out that way, I will likely stop back there for my ice-cream fix! Lol

I absolutely love Culver's and what they offer. You can eat here to cure a hangover with greasy cheeseburgers, enjoy some pot roast or grab a frozen custard sweet treat. I am a regular diner at Culver's throughout the area. I love their fried chicken, pot roast and pork tenderloin sandwich. I recommend the pork tenderloin sandwich with mustard and pickles only. They hand-bread this tenderloin which means be prepared for crumbs on your chest and lap if eating in the car. Their fries are always fresh, but ask for salt if you want there to be any on the fries, because it seems they do not salt their fries much, if at all. Ask for this at the window to expedite service. You may also ask for ketchup. Their cheese curds are also a fun side to any meal. It's a surprise mozzarella or cheddar bite every time and they are always served fresh. The pot roast is another one of my favs, but make sure to ask for extra gravy (on the side) because even though it's tender and pull apart-able with a fork, it can be a little bit on the dry side, but the gravy fixes this problem. It's seasoned well and with mashed taters and green beans, you are all set. I'm not supposed to eat ice cream or anything like it, but we went for ice cream this weekend. I tasted my boyfriend's cement mixer and it was very good. He chose the most random of toppings- kit kat and crunch, but it really worked!! Yumm-my! The reason for lack of stars 4 and 5 is because I have ordered chicken sandwiches from here twice now and both times, the chicken was pink in the center....hence, I did not eat my entire dinner either of those visits. :( Fairly quick drive thru service for a place that really does make a lot of their items fresh. They have very friendly employees. To be honest, I have never set foot inside the restaurant, but it looks lovely from the drive thru!! ;)

It was empty when it arrived, but filled up on our way out, telling me it's a popular place for the younger crowd. Either way, you know you're in for a good meal when you see the huge doner rotisserie spinning. The owner (at least I'm pretty sure he was the owner) helpfully walked us through their sauce selection and even offered my MIL some sauce samples. She ended up getting the hot dog with veggies, while my wife and I got sandwich combos (17 for the sandwich + 3.50 for fries and a drink). I was going to share my combo with my preschooler since they don't have a kids meal, but the owner thoughtfully offered some fries with chicken for him. We definitely had to tip well for such nice service. So this is no ordinary sandwich, and the pictures don't do it justice. In pics it looks kind of like a pita pocket, but this thing has some HEFT. Filled with veggies, meat, and sauce, it got a little messy but was really tasty. The veggies were fresh, and it's hard to top meat sliced right off the log. My MIL said her unique hot dog was good as well. To me it looked like a Chicago dog from another dimension, but I also want to give it a try next time. Protip: Ask for your sauces on the side. They're almost too generous with it on the sandwich so it's nice to have a little more control with it. This will definitely enter the rotation and will be letting our friends know as well. I know this isn't what most people think about, but it is a good feeling to know that the food is moving. It means you're being given fresh food that hasn't been sitting around. I love the simplicity of the menu. Platters, wraps, and sandwiches are genenerous and comfort foody, in the best way possible. Of course it is all about the sauces. I want to scubadive in that garlic sauce. I could put it on everything! The herb sauce and spicy sauce are also pretty awesome. Make your food a meal. You'll get fresh hot fries and a drink.
