My husband got a double-meat, and while it was larger, it was also an average burger. My child wasn't a fan of the boneless wings. We expected the sauce to be on the side, and that wasn't the case, so my child didn't eat much of the food. The milkshakes were also okay, yet by the time we got home, the shakes had thinned and the whipped cream had melted. We're less than 10 mins away from home, so we were a bit surprised. Finally, we did attempt to order food from the Fatburger website, yet parts of the site, especially the ordering portion, was down. If someone asked me to meet them here, I might go, yet I'd probably recommend other burger places.

While preparing my sandwich, I watched the employee place ham directly on the scale without wiping it down, using parchment, or putting down any kind of barrier. When I asked if they could place something underneath the meat before weighing it, the response was simply that they "sanitize it." The scale clearly wasn't clean. I could still see leftover meat on it and given that this location serves chicken, turkey, roast beef, pork, and more, cross-contamination should be a major concern. Customers should never have to point out that a dirty scale needs to be wiped before food is placed on it. What makes this even more frustrating is that I've experienced this same issue at other Potbelly's locations. I drove farther out to this store specifically hoping it would be different, but unfortunately the same unsanitary practice was happening here as well. Food safety should always come first, and this experience left me questioning whether proper sanitary practices are being followed across the chain.

These are all features of this location. The Wreck is my favorite because it's a hearty take on an Italian sub. It's just zesty and meaty enough, especially when the toasting heats it all up together. Staff here is friendly and builds a good sandwich. The interior is actually kind of nice even when busy. The faux rustic vibe is nice break from the busy outside shopping center. Parking is super easy, but again, it can get busy. Lunch here wasn't super busy when I went but it does take a little long to build these sandwiches so plan ahead.

My favorite item here would have to be their mouthwatering chicken tenders. I just haven't had anything like it, especially with their special sauce! They're open late & right now they're parked alongside Sea Island Shrimp House off of I-10, but check out their page to stay up to date with wherever they'll be next! In the only minute more I had to wait for my food I observed Gus kindly explaining the menu to a middle eastern family with a partial language barrier. Gus didn't even miss a beat, cheerfully and carefully answering their questions with the same attentiveness he offered me. 5 STARS, give Gus a raise! Honestly they were not my favorite, it's very strange to have a sweet powdered cheese on french fries. I was not a fan, but my husband liked them. And lastly, is the slaw and the pickled radish that they bring out, I liked those very much and they gave a perfect balance and touch of acid against the wings and the richness of the sauce. The location isn't something you immediately see off the road, it's right in the corner of a strip mall off of De Zavala. Definitely worth the trip, these wings and this chicken were 10 out of 10!
