I'm going to start by saying Yuko is the main reason for this review (the Star rating is for her alone) her service was outstanding. She went above and beyond. She was on the window then came and start running orders to the cars. She took the initiative when the other worker was falling behind. The food was horrible. Like literally!! I was first given the wrong order then brought some fries and a complimentary concrete for the mixup. I ordered the culver deluxe meal the fries was cold the sandwich was cold. I thought the food was made to order? Nope! The cheese wasn't melting really felt like they had just took everything out of the cooler and assembled it. The patty was cold not warm but cold. The bread wasn't buttered it was smashed like you couldn't tell the bottom from the top bun. Like I've never been to a Culver's like this. I finally got to try Culver's! I'm always in the lookout for good burgers. I think my experience makes it difficult to fully judge the burger here but the other food here is pretty great, especially the cheese curds. We've been to Culver's in Florida and Missouri but I think this is our first in Texas. Kids each got a meal, husband got a (bunless) burger and fries and I got a bunless burger. The food was great. I wasn't full after my double patty burger and got a coleslaw side (which wasn't that big either.) The workers here are AMAZING! Gosh! They were so friendly and helpful! This is the 2ND meal I've gotten that has been bad! Today I picked up a Cashew chicken salad. It was awful. Tried to eat but ended up throwing it away. Chicken was rubbery and dry and the seasoning on the chicken was not good. The lettuce was mostly all white. I thought a salad is supposed to have some green not this one. So disappointed in your restaurant. I use to get food here weekly but recently stopped because the food has gone down hill. I also waited for my food for over 10 minutes. I ordered a deluxe single combo with fries and an apple juice. It was my first time ordering from a Culver's and I went through the drive-through, so I don't what it looks like inside. The service was nice and quick, but the reason for the 2-star review is because of the food. I asked for no onions, but they heard no pickles, which I should have checked and is mostly my fault. However, despite the burger having the rest of the fixings, it was very bland. I could only taste the tomato and maybe the mayo too, everything else did not have any flavor. And, although I do not expect food to look like the picture on the website, the burger wasn't even close. The burger was very squished and I am not sure if the same bun from the picture was used. The only thing I liked from my order were the fries; they were very delicious, crispy, and hot. Overall, the burger wasn't horrible, it was extremely average. I could see that I was eating a burger, but I couldn't taste that I was eating a burger; it just left a weird and disappointing feeling after eating the sandwich. I don't think I would come back because I haven't found a reason to; plus, you can get more for less at Whataburger (and they have more flavor)‍ read more

The burgers are made with fresh beef not frozen and butter burger is a great description of it because the cheese is from Wisconsin and the lightly toasted buttered buns add a great flavor. The veggies are always crisp as well. The stand out menu item is the cheese curds, these are melt in your mouth fantastic and are a mix of white and yellow Wisconsin cheese. They have a pretty good variety on their menu with offerings such as salads, chicken, fish and even shrimp. Their service is very efficient and they move cars through the drive thru like clockwork. The shakes are best enjoyed as a dessert because they are filling and really tasty, malts I thought were a thing of the past but not here. Definitely a place worth trying. It's on our favorite list. Culver has 'value baskets': the sandwich, fries (crinkle cut) and a drink. I had the Culver deluxe burger and the husband went with pork loin sandwich. Both are good. The price for the two was under $20. The single patty burger is topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, cheese with their signature mayo. It's not just straight mayo. The bun is slightly buttered. Quite good. The husband just requested mayo and raw onions in his sandwich. After a while, we each went and ordered Concrete Mixes. This their frozen custard with two add-ins. The list of add-ins is quite long. More than three and then you pay for the additional ones. My add-ins were hot fudge and hot caramel. The husband went with fruit - strawberries and peach. The staff is helpful and pleasant. They appear to be adequately staffed. The restaurant is quite airy and clean. Go there. read more

We were greeted by the manager/supervisor, and he immediately asked what we wanted. I told him we needed a moment to figure out what we wanted, as it was our first time. A minute later, he asked again, and I said we weren't ready yet. A minute went by again, and he asked yet again. I then told him to give us a moment because we were first-timers. We could tell he was getting impatient and annoyed, which was a bit irritating because we were unsure of what to get. Food: The food was bland. Even though I've been to Culver's plenty of times since I was a child, being from the Midwest, this was my first experience at this location. I was throughly impressed at the service meaning nothing has changed. I decided to go for dinner and I guess all of San Antonio had the same idea. The parking lot was packed! There was a line for the drive thru but the inside had even more people so I decided to stay in my car. The line went fast and even though people had to pull their cars up to wait for an employee to bring them their orders. I ordered the Culver's deluxe with a side of fries and onion rings. I've heard people comment about the meat being too salty but that is just flavor that comes with smash burgers and the grill being seasoned. I actually prefer my burgers this way. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and the beef is so flavorful that you really don't need any condiments but the burger comes with Mayo. The fries were fresh and lightly salted and the onion rings were crispy. This is exactly how I remembered Culver's as a child and I'm so glad that the food along with the great customer service has not changed and lives up to the name. I know Texans are going to get on me about this but, I actually prefer Culver's over Whataburger, sorry folks! It's food has so much flavor that it can't be beat! read more

Wow this place is awesome. And Yuko is the best. We came with the fam and the price was going up and up until Yuko did her magic so the all the basket combos and it came down like $10! Pretty good if you like homestyle burgers. My only complaint is that the meat is a bit salty and too lean. It doesn't have that signature burger taste/smell. Portion is big, the burger is a good size, good price for what you get. The bun is really good, smells great! But overall taste of the burger is missing something. Meat is on the leaner side, good if you enjoy a healthy burger. For me, I prefer more fat. Concrete mix is okay, i need to try their custard without toppings. I got the salted caramel and cheesecake bite, too sweet for me. Concrete mixer also melted really fast, ended up eating it like a milkshake. 3/5, would come again to try vanilla. Cheese curd - different type of cheese, this was very good with ranch. I would order this again with a regular burger with no cheese 4/5 Culver's Deluxe - good buns, alot of meat, great toppings. When does fast food stop just being fast food? Culver's, that's where. I've gotten through about a third of the menu here over the last six or seven weeks, and literally everything here is great. The 'Butter Burgers' are excellent. The crinkle-cut fries are always freshly fried. The custards are always excellent. The fried chicken sandwich is great, close to Chik Fil-A's. The root beer is amazing and gives A&W's freshly mixed stuff a run for its money. The fried cod blows Long John Silver's away and is always on point. And most of all, their Rueben sandwich ROCKS. Ordering is done at a counter, but they bring the food to you. Love the fact that they're open at 10am serving lunch items as well. Fast and friendly service, what's not to like???? Culver's is easily my favorite fast n' casual place in San Antonio. This place scores a 5 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. I always think of Culver's as fancy Whataburger. But they are definitely more than great butter burgers. Their sandwiches and entrees are just as good as the burgers. And of course there is their secret weapon, frozen custard! I tried their Rueben for the first time, and I was impressed how good it was. Mike got the fried shrimp and literally slammed it down. I finally got the chance to try Culver's restaurant in San Antonio, and it was an amazing experience. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile and excellent service. Didn't know Texas had so many friendly people. I heard about this place only through social media and how great it is, but today, I finally got to try it out for myself Now, let's talk about the food. It was absolutely delicious! The ButterBurger was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful. The toppings were fresh and the bun was soft and fluffy. The crinkle cut fries were crispy and the portion size was just right. And the custard was heavenly, with a creamy texture and a great selection of flavors to choose from. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Culver's restaurant. I'm sad there isn't any location out in Las Vegas but it makes sense why.. Its like if In N Out had a baby with Chick fil a. I was looking for somewhere to drive thru and get a fish sandwich. Culver's popped up in my search so I decided to head there. The line moved quickly and the staff was very friendly and polite. I paid at the window and then they asked me to pull forward and they would bring out the meal. I forgot to ask for ketchup before pulling up and my meal was brought out and I asked if there was ketchup inside the bag. She told me yes, that she personally had put some in there. I checked the bag and there was no ketchup . So I parked and went inside. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and quickly helped by a manager. The store and was clean and the staff super friendly and respectful. My fish sandwich was probably the best drive thru fish I have ever had. It was hot, fresh, made right, and perfectly cooked. At first I thought the bun was too big for the size of the fish - but it was so good, light and airy, perfectly grilled and so fresh. The fries were hot and fresh as well, so I was glad I went in and got ketchup. I will definitely remember this place next time I am craving real fish. read more

I like this place. I know that is a very to-the-point statement, but it is a genuine sentiment. Culver's food is good, their service is great and the place is kept extremely clean. I usually come here for their frozen custard, which I love. However,I have also had their hamburgers and fish sandwich. Although, this occasion, I only got their fries and onion rings, to accompany some delicious phillys. Their hamburgers are on the small side, which sometimes is all you need, and quite tasty.
