Walked in- the place was empty. We were trying to decided if we should just go to Parry's. We got there in between lunch and dinner but the customer service was non existent too. There were a number of tables that needed bussing but the kids behind the counter weren't making any effort. We ordered their main burger- The Big Juicy.  The burger was pretty pricey for being alone, not a combo. 2 of us got combos- which was another $5. We got sides and drinks. Tots and rings. Both sides were good. Tots were nice and crispy and fresh. The onion rings were big and crispy. You got a decent amount of both. We were shocked my the size of the fried mushrooms- which is the main reason my wife wanted to come here. She had heard it was prob the best in the city. See the pic below for the incredible size. I don't know where they found mushrooms this size. Now back to the burgers. They were fine. But again, not really worth the size.  We prob won't be back except my wife did say if she was in the area she might grab some mushrooms on to go.   Extra info: Any extra sauces costs extra. Except for mayo/ mustard and ketchup. Also- they do not offer a military discount.

We kind of worried when we walked in and there was no customers. Large seating areas but no one. The staff didn't seem to thrilled we came in either. I would not have called them friendly. You order at the counter. They call your number / name out. We ordered 2 burgers- the big juicy. A side of Fried mushrooms. 2 burgers we got as a combo with onion rings for one and tots for the other. Let me tell u, the sides were the stars of this meal. The burger was fine, nothing wrong but also nothing stood out. Def not worth the price. The friend mushrooms stood out to me most , then the onion rings. The sizes of both were big but the mushrooms were unreal. (See pic below). Def will be back cuz those were def worth their price. Sadly, I think that will the only reason I'd be back tho. My family agreed that they were now wowed enough to come back for a full meal. What we did not like was everything was extra. Like each sauce is extra- the mushrooms came with two ranch sauces- and even jalapeños were extra. And upon tasting that ranch was def not homemade or special enough for me to pay for more. Disappointing-this was one of the few places we have come upon since moving here in July that does not give a military discount. We just had the longest government shutdown ever. Every lil bit counts, guys.

Great price and fast service and those mushrooms ‍. Size of a biscuit and perfectly cooked.

Dry burger sucks home of the big juicy yeah right

The burger was like cardboard no flavor was one of my favorite but I should have went to McDonald's just terrible for around 36 bucks for two people that's ridiculous what are the quality food? We got not good.

The chicken fried steak is so delicious I order it every time we come here It is so tender that you don't really need a knife to cut it I like that they have everything accessible to you as far as drinks, tableware, and to go containers

From the Triple Decker to the Big Juicy to a damn good plate of Longhorn Nachos. This place has got it going on! Indoor and Outdoor seating, Fresh prepped food and a few TVs with cold beer on the way in.... Cant go wrong here. Lovin every meal I've had and plan on coming back as my local go to! Thanx Longhorn Cafe for another wonderful meal!

Great food and service. Ambiance is relaxed, and very large dining area. Great prices for savory food. Cheeseburger was my favorite item on the menu.

Wasn't the biggest fan of this place, I would recommend it for those who prefer quantity over quality. You wait in line to order food and they call up your order. It kind of feels like a fast food joint versus a restaurant. The prices are higher than going to in-in-out and the portions are bigger but I didn't care for the quality or taste of the food. Good place if you have a large crowd and want to make sure everyone pays for themselves. Place was pretty packed on a Friday night.

It's been a while since we had been to Longhorn Cafe and boy am I am glad we came back to visit! I ordered a chicken fried steak with okra and mashed potatoes. The chicken fried steak so so good! It came out fresh and hot. The outside batter was crispy but the steak was perfect! The mashed potatoes lacked a bit seasoning but over all good. The fried okra was crispy and oh so good! The service was pretty fast and the tables/chairs were clean. Everyone was happy with their food :) burgers and the fried fish they definitely mastered! Would I recommend this place? Yes! :) you get a great bite of food and the pricing is on point along with quantity of food.

Double Meat Double Cheese & Tots

I've been visiting Longhorn Cafe for over 10 years now. It is my go to spot for a old fashioned hamburger. It doesn't matter which location you go to, the food is always consistent and fresh..made to order. I always get the double meat double cheese big juicy! Hands down my favorite burger in the SA area! I'm sure others will argue that there are better spots but this place does it for me.

Rag in the basket before I saw him put MY burger in it
Chris M.

I watched them prepare my food. Putting it in a basket after throwing a rag in it. I transfered it to a paper towel. I was very hungry but didn't eat the bun. The rag was used multiple times to clean the counter. A water bottle setting there too. The boss needs to give them a break room for this. Very disappointed because we love this place.

The horn, bacon cheeseburger, guacamole burger, salad and fried pickles.

Good but a Grease pit. If you eat here, 1. wear fat pants and 2. be ready to take cleanser pills when you get home to flush your body. Lots of fried foods: burgers, chicken, tater tots, okra, mushrooms, pickles, onions, fries, sweet potato fries. Their niche is customizable burgers - lots of optional add-ons too many to list here. And self-serve sauces like A-1, Louisiana hot sauce, malt vinegar, and others I'm forgetting. I had "the horn" but I should've got the "big juicy" because it had some vegetables on it. That's my takeaway - I just wanted vegetables after eating here because it was a heavy meal for all of us. They do have salads so maybe next time, I'd get that. Right now, I just want to fall into a food coma and let this digest. Oof. I'd eat here again but I'd be more selective about my order. Other stuff that may matter: ample seating, decent selection of mass produced domestic beer, interesting neck and hand tattoos on the very polite clerk, TVs but no audio, and lots of windows with an awesome view of 1604 and the western sun. I did notice more than 1 printed sign telling parents to "mind their children" and "don't let them climb" on stuff. It really makes you wonder how many bad parents have visited here in the past or what the heck happened to cause them to post them. My imagination runs wild with naught children misbehaving in public. Maybe they hate babies. Just kidding owners! Lastly, I saw a sign showing doordash delivers from this place. You know, that might be the play. Order in advance for pick up and eat your gut bombshell at home where no pants are required.

Kids grilled cheese

This is my go to for all things fried! I've been coming to this location since it opened and the service has always been fast and friendly. The laid back atmosphere is great for group lunches too. On this particular visit I had the bacon cheeseburger with onion rings and my daughter had a grilled cheese with fries. My meal was delicious! My burger was cooked to a good temperature and the bun was perfectly toasted. The onion rings are always a hit as well. I highly recommend this location for your next eat out location.

FIRST TIME VISIT!…read more Woohoo! Been looking for chili cheese fries and happened upon a review for this place boasting fries with a homemade chili so we HAD TO stop in tonight. THE LOCATION: on the very end of a string of businesses in a strip mall that I've never been in before, so that was cool. Lots of parking, that'll never be an issue. And right off the 410. THE MENU: Burgers, dogs, Mexi-style munchies and a variety of frozen dessert-type items like shakes, frozen fruit concoctions and Italian ice. THE STAFF: I wasn't overwhelmed with a warm welcome and smiles, at least from the guys. Lol! They should really work on that. There was a sweet gal who ran out our food orders and she was great. THE FOOD: I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich deluxe with tots and a sweet tea. The grilled chicken was juicy and cooked well and the bun was lovely, slightly sweet and toasted. Overall, the sandwich could've used more flavor, like a creamy bbq spread and cheddar instead of the "Swiss" cheese that tasted more like American cheese. But overall, 7/10. The tots were extra crispy and the guy who took my order didn't take heed to my request for ranch. I was too lazy to get up again so I settled for ketchup. The sweet tea was nicely sweet and fresh, I'll be sipping this in my dreams. The hubby ordered the bacon cheeseburger with chili cheese fries and an Oreo cookie shake. The burger looked good and he ate it quick, so there's that. This guy can EAT so it surprised us both when he slowed down fast after eating that burger. Lol! He kept saying how filling it was, but then he also killed a large shake before the food arrived, so there's that. He ate most of his chili cheese fries, leaving me a few bites to sample. Not bad. I order a Coco Haven frozen dessert to go and omg is this thing delightful! Vanilla ice cream and coconut Italian ice (?) with a blue snow cone-like syrup drizzled throughout. I loved the texture of what I believed to be Italian ice. Smooth and flaky, a perfect icy dessert. OVERALL: decent eatery, the hubby said we can go back (LOL!) Shockerrrrr! But I recommend the staff tries harder to make customers feel welcomed and comfortable. The next visit will be telling.

Such a cute place with a little kid play area and lots of outdoor/indoor seating. Our waitress was AMAZING, I regret not asking her name. My burger sounded like it should be very flavorful: queso, pico de gallo, guacamole. Sadly, it was pretty bland. Also, the burger appears smaller, yet retains a $14.95 - $16.95 price. Tots are $0.25 extra. The burger woes probably can be attributed to the high cost of beef and the use of a lesser cut of beef. I'm sure Tycoon Flats is not alone in this. On a positive note, the menu now lists traditional flat nachos, along with the pile of mess nachos. I will have to try those flat babies. Years ago, they were terrific. Trevor our server was just fine.

He even showed us around and introduced us to his family and staff, which made us feel right at home. The food came out quickly, and the burger was fantastic--but the true STAR OF THE SHOW was the bread. Think Hawaiian rolls, but softer, fluffier, and sized for a burger. These burgers were no joke: meat, cheese, grilled onions, and a secret sauce--and honestly, they didn't need anything else. The grilled onions and sauce were the perfect compliment, and you could taste every flavor in each bite. The drinks came in cans. I didn't notice a fountain setup, so that might be why.
