Old Town Patty Melt
Dave C.

Wow. I love how local places name burgers after other local businesses. Like Elk Hardware and Flores country store. Burger came out quickly and I ate it like I was famished. Very tasty and kind of unique- fried onions in Texas toast? Yes please. Oh- and LLCool J playing on the sound system was a nice surprise Good food, nice place. Go.

Tried for the first time picking up food for the family. Beautifully clean throughout & was impressed by so many great options on the menu. Service was fast & friendly, and the food exceeded my expectations. I took my food to go and it was hot & well seasoned. Will definitely be back to eat on site. Looking forward to dining in and trying more of the menu.

I walked in to Twin Bros Burgerz for the first time today and immediately said "wow"! The first thing you notice is the cool and unique soccer decor everywhere you look in the restaurant. The restaurant is owned by the sons of the El Chaparral restaurant family, a restaurant which has been serving the Helotes community as long as I can remember. Twin Bros offers lots of burger options as well as a couple hot dogs and a good sized list of side items. The friendly employee at the register helped me determine what to order. I ordered the burger of the month (October) with cheese, bacon, fried pickles and fried Mac n cheese bites. I was surprised to be able to choose from shoestring, crinkle & curly fries, but ultimately chose the half fries & half onion rings. My kids ordered a kids cheeseburger meal and a chicken tender meal (they included fries of their choice and a kids drink with free refills for $9 each). Everyone enjoyed their meals and the kids played on the playground which is nicely shaded and next to a covered area with picnic tables. An employee told me In the near future they will be serving margaritas and beer. Be sure to join the rewards program which offers discounts at both Twin Bros and El Chaparral (which is really cool).

Lunch Combo

Now that this is my favorite spot for a great hamburger lunch, I wanted to update my original review. My only negative from that review was the cost. Since then, they have added a lunch combo special that is more of a "lunch price" to me. The regular prices are fine for a dinner out. Regardless of what you get, or pay, the quality of your food is worth the price. Everything is so fresh and super tasty. The lunch special gives you a fantastic cheeseburger (Charlie's Original), a side, and a drink. First of all, the burgers here are amazing. They sprinkle something on the meat that really imparts a delicious flavor to every bite. The cheese, pickles, and tomatoes used are better quality than most places use, and definitely add to the deliciousness of the burger. The buns are soft, tasty, and the perfect size for the patty. I got to choose from several sides including fries, sweet potato fries, and onion rings. There may have been others, as well, but I stopped listening at sweet potato fries. Let me tell you they could not have been better. They were crisp on the outside and super smooth and tasty on the inside. Plus, they gave me a mountain of them. I have to mention my drink. I am not much of a soda drinker. Today, I opted for the strawberry lemonade. It just about sent me over the edge! I have never tasted such fresh strawberry awesomeness like this has. I asked about it and learned that they make it from scratch with strawberries! It isn't a mix or syrup. Trust me, stop in here for lunch. You will get a terrific meal for about the same price as eating at McDonald's!

The food was not bad. Service- You have to order your food at the front counter. ‍ the atmosphere is pretty awesome with soccer memorabilia. .

Twin Brother's Burgerz recently opened in Helotes and is the same family who own El Chaparral down the highway. Twin Brother's have taken residence in the old Bobby Js location. Bobby Js was a beloved local burger joint that could not weather the COVID/post-covid economy. So Twin Brother's have some tall boots to fill. We knew it would not be Bobby Js and with open minds, my husband and I rushed to Twins ready for a good burger and fries. Our expectations were hopeful yet, we know it's their first week of service and expected blips. Service was great, especially considering they just opened and they were busy, but they had a process and it worked. It is counter service with servers helping to find seating. We did have a wait for our food to arrive, but it wasn't bad, and again, expected for their first couple of days. A note about the menu. It's mostly burgers and fries/onion rings with some healthy options like chicken sandwiches and salads, and also hotdogs. The names of the burgers all come from local Helotes icons. My husband and I both had the Floore's Country Store Bacon Burger. The food itself was average. My hope is that it will be much better after they are open for a while. The burger, to me was well done, too well done. I prefer a thicker, medium-cooked patty. I've heard you can ask for a preferred cook on the meat so that is noted for next time. Bacon was awesome. And a good bun. The onion rings were also awesome. I would get them again. The shoestring fries were limp, cold, and overly greasy. I chalk this up to being new. My hope is that they will get better with time. Tea was okay. The price was our biggest complaint. For an average tasting meal the $11 price tag was a bit hard to swallow. I realize we're in hard economic times on both sides of the counter. I'm willing to pay it, but they will need to step up their game to make it worthwhile. They just need some nuance to the cook of the patty and fries. The decor is great. As I understand, the brothers who own the joint are former soccer players, and the building has been renovated and decorated with soccer memorabilia. It's a great atmosphere, very inviting, casual, and fun. We will be back after they've been open for a while. It won't be our go-to like Bobby Js, mostly because of the price. But if they step up their game, we'll continue to stop in from time to time.

Finally went to Twin Bros and it was good. Bobby J's will probably always be my favorite burger place but this was good. The menu is creative and has some fun names that nod to it's past. The staff was friendly and service was great. The interior has been improved a lot. They even have fried corn which I enjoyed. My family will be back...

Cool burger place with sport/soccer theme. Came here for lunch and place was not busy and food came out fast. Burgers were good. They give a discount for kids in their soccer uniforms. Would come here again.

Carlos, one of the twins is a fantastic individual. You can tell he is passionate about his restaurant and he takes pride in everything he does. He gave me a tour of the kitchen and I was really impressed not only by the restaurant, but by the quality of the food. Will definitely come back again!

Complimentary second Twin Brothers Burger that one of the twins gave me just out of kindness! Much appreciated!

For months, I eagerly anticipated the opening of Twin Bros. Burgerz in Helotes, counting down the days until Carlos and Gabe Garcia--the titular twins behind the massively successful El Chaparral Mexican restaurant just down the road--would unveil their latest venture. If my first visit is any indication, then Twin Bros. Burgerz is a welcome addition to the community. From the moment I stepped into the immaculate, soccer-themed space--completely reimagined from its charmingly ramshackle days as Bobby J's--I was greeted with warmth, great food, and an atmosphere that radiates passion. The star of the show, the Twin Bros. Burger with double meat, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and added bacon, had me purring before I took the first bite. I mean, just look at the photos I snapped! The patties struck a balance between a traditional flattop burger and a smash burger, offering the best of both worlds: a juicy, substantial interior with a satisfyingly crispy, caramelized edge; never underestimate the power of the Maillard reaction. Each bite delivered a robust beef flavor, elevated by a subtle yet distinctive cumin note that evoked the rich, savory essence of Tex-Mex cheese enchilada gravy, an apparent nod to the Garcia boys' cultural heritage. This unexpected twist added a layer of complexity that set the burger apart from standard fare. The American cheese melted perfectly, cloaking the patties in creamy richness, while the crisp lettuce and juicy tomato (no mushy, mealy bits) provided a fresh contrast. The bacon, thick-cut and crispy, added a smoky, savory crunch that tied the whole burger together. Served on a soft, toasted brioche bun, this burger was a harmonious--and substantially portioned--blend of textures and flavors. The onion rings, fried in beef tallow, reminded me of the halcyon days of yore when McDonald's used tallow in its fried items. These golden rings were a masterclass in texture, boasting a crisp beer batter-esque exterior that gave way to the tender, semi-caramelized onions within. The beef tallow imparted a deep, umami-rich flavor that elevated the rings far beyond typical fryer fare, offering a savory depth that lingered on the palate. The hand-dipped cookies and cream shake blended creamy, real ice cream (none of that carrageenan-laced, carcinogenic soft-serve stuff) with ground Oreo cookies. Each sip struck a perfect balance between rich sweetness and the satisfying crunch of cookie pieces. The shake was thick yet sippable, the ideal balance that few establishments seem able to achieve. The service at Twin Bros. Burgerz was exceptional from start to finish. The friendly cashier greeted me with a genuine smile, patiently answering my questions about the menu and offering recommendations with enthusiasm. The warmth of the staff set the tone for the entire experience, making me feel like a valued guest. Most remarkably, one of the owners--part of the twin duo behind the restaurant--personally delivered a second burger to my table, seemingly for no reason other than to share his passion for their craft. This gesture of kindness, paired with his engaging conversation about the restaurant's vision, left an indelible impression. It's rare to encounter such generosity and personal connection in a quick service setting. The restaurant itself is a visual delight, having undergone a complete overhaul from its previous life as Bobby J's. The space is now infused with a vibrant soccer theme, with decor that celebrates the sport through nods like soccer ball bar stools and team-inspired artwork. The entire dining area is immaculate, from the spotless tables to the gleaming floors, reflecting a level of care that extends beyond the food. The open, airy layout creates a welcoming environment perfect for families, friends, or solo diners looking to enjoy a meal in a lively yet comfortable setting. I was disheartened to see that several grammatically challenged, low-vibration reviewers chose to criticize Twin Bros. Burgerz during its recent soft opening, a time when any new restaurant is fine-tuning operations and navigating the challenges of launching a business. The quality of the food, the warmth of the service, and the pristine environment I experienced stand in stark contrast to such reviews. Restaurants deserve grace during their initial phase, and Twin Bros. Burgerz has clearly risen above any early hiccups. I encourage skeptics to visit now and judge for themselves--the Garcia twins have created something truly special.

Floore's Country Store Bacon Burger and shoestring fries
Royce S.

First of all, this business has only been open for a few weeks and they are doing a good job, but I believe they will improve. I ordered the Floore's Country Store Bacon Burger, their shoestring fries and an Ice Tea. The burger was good, a bit salty, but the toppings were fresh and crispy. The burger comes without condiments, but they have several stations for you to select your condiments. The fries were seasoned and delicious and the Ice Tea was refreshing. Having been here when it was Bobby Just, they did an amazing job of renovation and we enjoyed the outside seating. I will wait a few weeks, probably months, then go back and hopefully increase my score.

We visited the first week in operation. I really wanted this place to be AMAZING. It wasn't. Look, if you're in the mood for a decent burger, good taste, flavor and not too picky, this place works...but if you're looking for a burger that gonna sit well, have a little grease, look more like good food vs pretty food...then this may not be it. From the get go, they filled a spot where one of the BEST burger joints I've ever been to was, Bobby J's. It was known for rustic, greasy, smashed patties and good ole smack down burger with the flavor and feel to go along with it. I mean...this place was LEGIT...however, they're no longer here and after almost 2 years of waiting to see what this place would be, they pleased Helotes with a burger joint, but they didn't meet the standard, which is unfortunate. They dumped a good chunk of money in to making it more family friendly, large, more covers/tables, an outdoor space to chill and watch games and it's overall visual appeal is much better with a heavy-themed soccer (football) accoutrements throughout. The staff was pleasant, accommodating, attentive and for the most part knew their stuff. The first few nights were insanely packed, but we were able to make it in on a Saturday dinner timeframe to check it out. Parking space to seating isn't proportionate. So if it looks packed from the parking lot, chances are there's still space inside! We ordered burgers, fries and onion rings for the most part. The burgers were too fancy. They spent more time on making them look nice and neat than focused on the flavor. They're not greasy or dripping with flavor, yet smaller, dried patties with minimal flavor and small portion. They used a smaller bun and smaller patty versus the ones you need two hands to hold. You can hold this one in one hand. Fries were shoestring and personally, not a fan. They die too fast and get cold. You need to serve food with more surface area much faster for the best outcome. They need to change their fries. Same for onion rings. We ordered the 50/50 and only received about 6 rings on the boat. Not large rings, but just medium sized with shoestring fries...for the price, it wasn't worth it. The price for burgers was fair, but lacking so much flavor and what this shack-turned-soccer fan hangout needs to massively improve on. Overall the food is good, but not amazing, unique, flavorful, and unfortunately they didn't fill the big shoes of the establishment once before them that this city desperately needed. It just didn't hit the spot like we hoped for. I'd encourage everyone to try it if in the area, support local/small business and hopefully you enjoy it more than we did! This was our first visit, and I don't think we'll be in a major desire to go back, even as locals.

I'd been wanting to try this place for a quite a while, and the stars just never aligned. Until today! I placed an online order for pickup since I didn't have time to sit inside. When I walked in, I was greeted nicely by the woman manning the cash register/taking orders. I gave her my name and she said they were working on my order and it would be out in a bit. No problem! About 2 minutes later I was handed a brown paper bag with my burger inside. I ordered a regular degular cheeseburger with no subs or additions. This comes with mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and cheese. Lettuce and onions were chopped, everything else was not. Yall, It smelled go good I'm not lying, I pulled over and opened that bad boy in my car in an apartment rec center parking lot. The bun? Soft and pillowy but not soggy. A little toasted. Perfect. The toppings were fresh, nothing overpowering and the size of the everything worked well. The meat was a great thickness, not too thick or thin, and seasoned just enough. Juicy, flavorful, and had those charred edges you get on griddled burgers. Yum. The cheese was melty and delicious. Literally could not find a fault here. I didn't order sides, but you betta believe I'll be back for more burgers and maybe I'll try them then. In the meantime, go here for a super delicious, freshly made burger as soon as you can!

They have specials every day, and today it was a mushroom cheeseburger, fries, and a drink for $10. My wife ordered that, but i had to order a bacon cheeseburger as that's my favorite.
