Butter Burger Cheese no bun
Viv P.

Just wanted to grab something quick on a whim and decided not to be healthy about it. Service inside wasn't great - the kid working the counter seemed to be depressed about working on a Sunday afternoon. Understandable, but not excusable. Butter Burger Cheese - no bun I asked for lettuce, mayo, mustard, raw onions, and tomato. I got mine missing mustard and tomatoes. note to self - their lettuce is shredded. Atlantic Cod Sandwich Fish is delicious, moist, and crispy. Hubby enjoyed it. On previous occasions, I've had their cheese curds and fries. Fries are the crinkle cut version, which I'm not particular about. The curds were great. Hubby is particular about the buns on a sandwich or burger, and Culver's buns aren't his favorite.

Holy healthy ginormous chicken salad Batman! Chicken cranberry bacon bleu.

I hit up this place on my first stop of the Weight Watchers adventure. I joined Weight Watchers, which has an incredible app that gives you point totals for dozens of restaurants so you can eat healthy almost anywhere. Culver's is included! I got the cranberry bacon bleu salad with chicken and the raspberry vinaigrette for a total of 9 points. Tawanda! Very clean large and busy place. Love it. The kids at the counter were friendly and my salad and a glass of water set me back $6.99. Who said eating healthy was expensive? Not here! My salad came and it was a dieter' s dream. Huge healthy and rich tasting. No rabbit food here. So satisfying! The cranberries were just enough of a punch and were plentiful. I also saw a gentleman get a kids meal which is another idea for eating a more portion friendly meal. I'll come back. The weight watchers adventures are going to be a thing in my life through May and it's working so well I feel this could be a lifetime change! Woo hoo!

Not good. Came around 2 PM and it wasn't too busy. The food was burnt, cold, and had barely any ketchup and pickles on it. The cheese and mustard was also forgotten.

The food is standard Culver's, tasty greasy bad for you burgers and decent frozen custard. The service here is okay, and the place is pretty clean. I like fast food but I can't eat it very often, or at least, I shouldn't eat it very often, so I have to have some excuse. Finding a well lit place to get some work done is not the excuse I need to eat here, because both times I've been here their WiFi was down, and most seats have no electrical outlet access.

My colleagues and I all tried them out, with mine being one of the most conventional surprisingly. I went for the vanilla and berry custard which was just the right amount of sweetness and creaminess. I can't say that it was a mind blowing experience, as I've had similar at good old Rita's back in Maryland.

The ice cream is ridiculously smooth, rich, and packed with flavor--like you can tell right away this isn't your average scoop. Everything is handcrafted with high-quality ingredients, and they even rotate unique flavors that keep you coming back just to see what's new. From classics to wild combos (yes... whiskey ice cream is a thing), every bite hits. And let's talk portions... that "double scoop" is basically a challenge in disguise. No complaints though. The vibe is awesome too--laid back, creative, and full of energy. It feels like one of those spots you stumble into and immediately know it's gonna be a regular stop. Fast service too! Honestly, it felt like stepping into a Kangra Knova track-- "Take you up so high... into outer space" because that's exactly what this ice cream does

Date of visit: March 28, 2026…read more I am shocked and appalled that I have never posted a review of Purple Door despite all the times that I have come here. I live near Kopp's and I come here about as much as I go there even though it's not at all convenient! The variety of flavors, from old standbys like strawberry and butter pecan, to the more unusual such as strawberry hibiscus or road gravel ensure that there's a little something for everyone, and it certainly does not hurt that they make their waffle cones fresh on site. This is not a drill, people! And while I thoroughly enjoy the waffle cone smell, my heart is always set on a milkshake and Purple Door almost always comes through (there has been the occasional time that they are out of milk but thankfully that was not the case on this visit!). This time around was Salted Caramel Cookies and Cream and it was fantastic. I will say that I struggled mightily both getting the straw out of the plastic wrapper and then getting the damn thing into the lid. I ended up aborting the entire mission and just removed the top and drank it out of the cup, which was good because there was a massive chunk of cookie at the bottom that wouldn't have made up a regular straw, much less that lame excuse they were handing out that evening.

In front is a sunken tree garden that must be a neat place to enjoy your food when the weather is nice. It's very shaded and has nice benches and a relaxing vibe to it. It's also the only place that I saw to sit down and enjoy your food. Inside the building is quite large but only has about 4 tables to stand next to without any seats. I think most people either go eat the food in their car or take it home. I ordered 2 scoops of their frozen soft serve custard. The flavored scoops were vanilla and turtle pecan. It cost $5 and change which was a real value too. I stood in a short line and had my dessert in less than 5 minutes. They have several lines to stand in to serve the many customers who come here. The vanilla scoop was rich and delicious. The turtle pecan scoop rocked my world! It had many half pecans in it and the custard was perfect in a buttery like taste that made me what to order another serving but in the interest of my waistline I decided not to. This custard impressed me. They also serve burgers, hot dogs, etc. too and I am sure it's all good here. This is a big operation that serves many people. I counted somewhere between 15-20 people working there all dressed in their white uniforms behind the counter. I wish we had a Kopp's where I live!

Having tried them for the first time, I have to say, I can completely understand why they would say that, even without prior knowledge. I could definitely see the potential from the first bite of the burger. Patties were cooked right and gave me pleasant feeling of decent bite, except for being a bit bland. Buns definitely did not add anything to the totality of the burger, staying consistent with what everyone says. Made me wonder what kind of buns they used to use that made it better. Did not care for the soggy, green leafy part of lettuce they shoved into it. Like a normal person, I prefer a bit of crunch in my burger lettuce, but it did nothing but take away from the experience. I was sold on the idea of fried onions, but my onions didn't look or feel fried. Maybe my expectations were different on what fried onions meant? I was imagining deep fried battered onions, but maybe what I got was non-battered fried onions. Either way, it didn't leave any impression. I think I also made the mistake of asking for ketchup and mustard without specifically asking just how much. My burger ended up being too sour due to too much of both. I think I read on their website somewhere that I was supposed to be able to taste the specialness of their Wisconsin cheese, but everything else about the burger was so overpowering that I barely could tell if there was any cheese at all. Fries were SUPER soggy from the get go. I *only* brought the bad outside to open it immediately after grabbing them, so it wasn't like they stayed in the bag long enough to get soggy. Now.. having said all that. Custards were amazing! Definitely at the top of my list of frozen custards I've had thus far. The girl at the counter had me try both the daily specials and both were super good. So good that I'll probably drive my girls an hour out here just to buy them custards, especially as it gets warmer. If it were just for burgers and fries, I might have given them two stars. But since the name of the institution is Kopp's Frozen Custard, I'm more inclined to be a bit forgiving.. I had them at 3 stars originally, but I think I'll bump it up to 4, landing them personally at 3.5.

The "best" local place that was open in January was The Chocolate Chisel. My family and I stopped and each got a cone. I also got three truffles. The truffles I bought were chai tea milk, experimint milk (ganache with peppermint extract), and peppermint hot chocolate. The chai tea and experimint milk truffles both tasted like they should based on their descriptions, but I wouldn't wantto buy either again. The peppermint hot chocolate had some crushed peppermint on top, but other than the chocolate being in the shape of a mug, nothing about it reminded me of hot chocolate. Ultimately I don't think any of them were worth the price. The ice cream was lackluster. Both of my kids got cookies and cream in a cake cone and thought it was skimpy on the cookies part. My wife and I sprung for waffle cones with ours and were both disappointed in the excessive cone to ice cream ratio that heavily favored the cone. She got plain chocolate and it was fine. I, however, got banana-rama and ended up throwing it out because it tasted more like butter pecan than anything banana related. I even went back inside and verified with the employee that it wasn't mislabeled in the case.
