Traveling west through Illinois, and stopped here to pick up some food before heading to the hotel. Super friendly service, and the food was hot and fresh. Some of the items ordered included onion rings, fries, drinks, and sandwiches with customizations. The sandwiches were made perfectly. Wow yes I love this place Only to chill although am not a big fan of the food I do love their turtle Custard Sundays they are amazing. The reason I have issues here at Culver's is they always mess up my order at the end of the day I get upset and say not coming back. I say no SALT no CHEESE specially yellow cheese and boom get cheese and salt on my food. So I rather just get the custard. The fish sandwich was so grease and fishy smell and you know when fish smells is not fresh. I do love the service they have the nicest and the most polite workers. The ambiance is for all the family to hang out and have fun they do have tables outside so if you do want to eat Al fresco go and enjoy the summer Weather. We came to Culver's after a long day of volleyball games for a tournament at NIU. There wasn't a line when we got there and the staff was really friendly. The food came out decently fast. I ordered a single butterburger cheese value meal but it looks so sad in the picture hahaha. I'm also pretty sure they did not put the sauce I requested on it. The food here is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. I also like that it's one of the very few places in town that is open for dining up to 11:00 at night. Also the staff is very friendly and I really appreciate that about them. One young man, Victor S., has been particularly helpful and friendly when I was there. If everybody in the service industry was like him then eating out would always be a very nice experience. read more

How does DeKalb Culver's get one star? The food is great (when your order is correct). In the last two months I have gone through the drive through twice and had missing or incomplete items. The first time I checked the bag and all the boxes were present. When I opened my spicy chicken sandwich at home it was just the bottom bun and patty. Nothing else? No idea how that happened. I called and spoke to a manager. They sent a voucher. The second time Culver's messed up my I order they forgot my spicy chicken sandwich completely. I didn't check the bag this time and didn't notice I had a missing sandwich until I got home to Malta. I called and asked to speak to a manager. When I spoke to someone she confirmed that she was a manager. She said I could either come back and pick up the sandwich or she would take my name and to give it next time I was at the drive through for a credit for the sandwich and a side of my choice. It wasn't really worth it as I live in Malta and my son had his food, didn't want to drive back to pickup one sandwich for all the rest of the food to get cold. I Just got back from Culver's where I was told "one of their managers would never say that". When I asked if I was being called a liar I was told no. The young lady repeated said "no but their managers would never say that." I cancelled my order and told the young woman I would be going to the Rochelle Culver's from here on out. I would go through the drive through at the DeKalb Culver's about once a week. Sometimes more as it is a family favorite. Now I am never going back to the DeKalb Culver's location again. The Culver's in Rochelle has never messed up my order and they will get all of my business now. The food is great when it's right but make sure to check your bag and open the boxes to make sure you have a complete sandwich. Lost a customer over the cost of one chicken sandwich and a side. It is a fast food restaurant. They are a little over priced for what it is. There is nothing amazing about it.

Food: good. Ambience: what you would expect. It's fine. Service: outstanding! The owner/manager(s) must be doing something right. Mostly teenagers working here, and they are awesome! Always kind, smiling, and polite. The food is always the same no matter where you go, but the service is not. I have had service at other locations that was ambivalent (not bad, not great). The Culver's in Dekalb, IL has wonderful service. The people working at this Culver's make me feel like they really care about me personally. My mom is 86 and has dementia. She likes strawberry shakes. I take her to this Culver's about twice a week for the shake. The workers always smile at her and ask if she needs extra napkins or a spoon or anything. We are in the drive up and they look across me (driver's seat) directly into her eyes and ask her. It makes her feel special. It makes her feel good. She won't remember it after we drive away, but I will remember it forever. Thank you for making my mom feel appreciated and like a friend. read more

We have been patronizing this Culver's since it first opened, and at this point through three changes of ownership. Service here has gone downhill considerably with the most recent owner, getting the order wrong has been a too regular thing. Tonight, I ordered a double hamburger with no cheese and only grilled onion. Simple, right? Guess again. I got the order home and added the condiments that I prefer, took a bite and thought, "Well, they got me again." There was so much salt that the burger was inedible. I tried one more bite with the same result,and tossed the remainder. Honestly, what did you do? Take the lid off of the salt shaker and just dump it on the burger? I can live with mistakes. They happen and being charged for someone else's order or getting the wrong order can occur when going through the drive through. It's bothersome but not a deal breaker. I cannot live with the smart aleck, snarky, petulant attitude of the drive through staff. It's consistent. We don't go to this Culver's often and each time the attitude of the staff makes me regret my decision. There are simply too many other options. I mean it's burgers and "ice cream". When my group entered just after 11:15 PM, it meant they needed to bring out another cashier, so the manager told the guy cleaning the ladies room to take care of that. But what he said to him was along the lines of "A bunch of freakin' idiots just came in. UGH!! This is just great. I need you on a register." Then when it was my turn to order, it was with the guy pulled from cleaning and he didn't even respond to me when I walked up and said hi. I told him what I'd like and he just held out my cup in my face and didn't even tell me my total. I handed him my card and he handed it back without ever saying one word to me. As midnight (closing time) approached, we were just finishing up our food and were sitting there chatting a little and at midnight the manager came over and said "Ummm we're closed! You can't be here. You gotta get out, now." So my friend said "That's fine, all you had to do was ask" and he said "I am right now" to which my friend said "Not very politely." Then he told us how they were all finished and were just waiting around to leave. He could have very politely given us a heads up way before he came over and basically kicked us out. We visit the Culver's in Sycamore all the time and as their closing time approaches, we tell them we'll get ready to leave and they ALWAYS say "No rush, we'll just be doing some closing things. Is there anything else we can get you?" and they typically encourage us to take our time even after their posted closing time. read more

I love Culver's and since they opened the one in DeKalb it's been easier to go to that one since it's closer to my house but I think I'll stick to the one sycamore. Better customer service and everyone is more friendly. I may be making a big deal about it but since when do I have to pay for sauce even if I didn't order the chicken tenders? I've been going to Culver's for as long as I could remember and have never had to do that. EDIT: after our meal, my daughter and I got our custards. She got to use her kids coupon and I got a regular mini concrete. No problem with mine. But with hers, she wanted cherries on hers. I was asked if she wanted maraschino cherries or crushed cherries. Maraschino was my answer. We got our custard and there was crushed cherries with one maraschino cherry on top. The lady said she did that so I wasn't charged more. I would of paid for it had you said something before you did it(which I wouldn't of been happy about because sycamore would of gladly done what I asked). Love Culvers but this one is terrible. Go to Sycamore that one is awesome. The management of this Culvers is lacking. There is no supervision or proper training of employees. They can not get orders correct and have no system in place to make sure that once a order is placed and paid for, that order will ever get made and given to the customer. Plus, everything that comes out of the fryer taste like a ball of grease. No quality control at this location. Again, make the short drive to the Sycamore location and you will get great food from friendly employees that provide super customer service. Worst customer service ever. An issue occurred due to parking and I approached management respectively just for the head manager to say that I have to figure the situation out on my own. I approached the other manager and she was sassy as well.
