Five stars. Not just for the chicken -- though it's great -- but because the Raising Cane's in DeKalb, Illinois is home to a miracle of modern engineering: the loudest restroom stall door on Earth. This isn't hyperbole. This door doesn't simply close -- it announces itself with the fury of creation. It's a blast so thunderous it could part clouds. When I tried to shut it, the resulting sound wave nearly knocked the sauce cups off the counter. My grandpa, who's lived through enough history to be unshakable, heard it and went pale -- said it sounded like "the sky itself falling." The entire restaurant froze. Fry cooks paused. Toasts trembled. For a full five seconds, everyone in that Cane's shared a single, reverent silence. And that's when it hit me: this door is not just loud -- it's holy. It deserves pilgrims. People travel the world to see the Grand Canyon, to visit the pyramids, to circle the Kaaba in Mecca. But one day, I believe they'll come to DeKalb -- not for the chicken tenders (though they are solid) -- but to experience The Door. To stand before it in awe. To hear its unearthly thunder and whisper, "I was here." You don't visit this Raising Cane's. You make a pilgrimage to it. You bring your friends, your family, your earplugs. You witness something primal and transcendent -- a door that humbles all who hear it. Five stars. A divine experience in fast-food form. Come for the chicken, stay for the revelation. read more

Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers - Never again, charging me for water smh - Chicken Shop Near Me - Dekalb, Illinois

Most consistently juicy and fresh fried chicken tenders in dekalb. Popeyes and KFC tenders are always dry when I get them, but here they are ALWAYS fresh and tasty! I've gone late at night and the quality doesn't change. The staff is always super kind and helpful (although I feel bad they need to say "Chicken, Chicken, Chicken!" or smthn when u order like don't make em do that cmon.) read more

Price definitely needs improvement. It's a bland piece of soggy chicken. Not worth the money for quantity & quality of food.

Customer service was friendly! The food is always amazing! The dining area is not always clean, but it's tolerable. read more

I have never tried Raising Cane but have heard of them so when I saw one near the Target I was at I decided to go through the drive thru. The menu is very basic and easy to read and navigate. The outside of the restaurant was clean and well kept. As soon as I pulled up to the speaker they took my order. The service was very quick and efficient. I ordered the 4 piece combo the chicken was hot and fresh but the fries were not. The best part of the meal however was the toast and I was very impressed with the iced tea, it was very fresh and tasty. read more

Canes is pretty good chicken in Dekalb/sycamore. My mom and I tried it one day after some shipping. Really enjoyed the sauce! It goes good with everything- the fries, the chicken, and especially the bread! They even have that good ice! Very filling- I've even bought myself a kids meal for lunch and it's perfect! read more

Good food and an overall clean restaurant. The service is fast and the staff polite.

An update. Despite the corporations shortcommings, the staff is friendly and does their level best to accomodate. I would still avoid using the app and their hours leave a lot to be desired, but they still are among the best chicken in the area, with only two other places in Sycamore and Dekalb for chicken as of this writing that, in fairness, are not chains. Really hope this one sticks around and corp looks at the issues I listed seriously. read more

Good tenders. Fries (meh) not to go out of the way for just okay tenders and okay fries. Friendly service

Lemme tell you something about this establishment. It's great. It's perfectly placed right across the street from mavis tires and brakes one of my favorite places to hangout with friends, family, and lovers. There's a few things I'd like to recommend the owner of this establishment should do to enhance this experience even more they'll have to contact me personally because they aren't getting those ideas for free!!! read more

Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers - a person's hand holding a piece of food in a styrofoam container - Chicken Shop Near Me - Dekalb, Illinois

They almost had five stars from me, but the issue was I couldn't see their menu. Probably technical issues but other than that my food was fresh. Chicken tenders cooked perfectly, fries were fresh, and the Texas Toast just right. I'll give them another chance soon but their food was definitely excellent. read more

The chicken here is okay but the sauce is what gives flavors. They have sometimes messed up my orders but for the most part they get them right. I love coming through the drive thru to get their chicken. The interior is stunning and most of the times clean, though the seats are a little soft to the point you sink in, it's amazing inside. read more

Excellent food and service , drive thru is quick would recommend, have not been inside as of yet

I've tried the Crystal Lake location twice. Food was OK but overpriced in my opinion. Only have had carry out, so can't rate the service.

Let me preface this by saying I've spent over 20 years working in retail and other customer facing jobs. I can honestly say that I've never once in my life yelled at or harassed a retail worker (and still didn't, for the record). I try to go out of my way to be as nice to them as possible because I've been in their shoes. I've been the one getting yelled at by a customer with a shitty attitude over a minor mistake, so I know how often people can make their lives suck, and it's not cool. Now all that out of the way, this person should probably be fired because holy crap, there's no way this is their SOP on customer service. My wife and I went through the drive-thru, and the employee literally refused to take our order three times unless we said "chicken" first. They've got kitschy catchphrases, whatever, I get that it's their brand. When your customer doesn't feel like being patronized and just wants to order some chicken, maybe take the fucking hint instead of playing asinine word games. "Hey what's kickin', want some chicken?" "Hi, still looking, it'll be just a minute." "When you're done pickin', just say chicken!" *takes a minute to figure out the order* "Okay I'm all set, can I get a Caniac comb..." "I didn't hear 'chicken'." *Are they fucking serious?* "...I'd like a Caniac combo with..." "I still didn't hear 'chicken'." "Okay, no, seriously, if you don't take my order I'm just going to leave." "That's fine, you just need to say 'chicken'." There's no way that's how this person was trained to deal with customers. I didn't cuss at them or insult them, I didn't yell, I barely even raised my voice as I got irritated. I don't know if this was an employee having a power trip, or a supervisor who drank too much of the koolaid on the importance of their corporate-mandated slogans, but it's completely fucking nuts. If I ever told a customer I wouldn't help them unless they jumped through hoops for me first, my ass would be fired, and rightly so. And for the record--based on my previous experience with them-- the sauce and fries are good, the chicken itself is just mediocre. read more

This Raising Canes has some really good chicken. Everything seems consistent, including the people's comments about the Bathroom doors. After I was done eating, I went into the restroom to drop my deposit, however, When I closed the door, I almost shyt myself because of how earth-shatteringly loud the door was. My grandfather felt that from my car and it reminded him of the 2011 Japan earthquake. He has PTSD. Going to have to knock down a star.... read more

I went here to pick up my order and it was pouring rain, I thought since no one was in the drive thru I could ask if they would give me my order at the window so I wouldn't get soaking wet. Well I was told NO, they aren't allowed to do that. I had to park and come in. I also found hair in my food!!!! I won't be back!!!!! read more

Employees are nice. Scenery is cool. Overhyped food. Don't get me wrong, the chicken is amazing. The fries are a solid 3/5. But if you're expecting something revolutionary, don't. Definitely better than other fast food chicken though. read more

This raising canes has the loudest most earth shattering door in the mens restroom. I mean LOUD. It closed behind me and I was having war flashbacks from the raw decibels vibrating my ear drums. It's a metal door slamming metal so be ready for it. Other than that the food slaps and the people who work here are nice! read more

The chicken was scrumptious, however when I went to the bathroom the door was so loud I went temporarily deaf

Greatest Raising Canes of all time. They all taste the same, but this location has the loudest mens bathroom stall door on the planet. In the history of humankind, no one has ever engineered a louder stall door, and no one ever will. read more

Door was loud asf on grandma, shattered my eardrums to where I thought I heard god speaking to me

I used the men's bathroom stall and had to duck and cover because of how loud the stall door was but the chicken was really good tbh

Good chicken, good door. drove an hour here and it was totally worth it. 10/10 would drive again.

Fantastic! Our work catered Cane's to us and since then I have been hooked! Never had a bad meal from this place. Sauce is delicious, chicken is delicious, toast to die for... When you compare this place to the Popeyes on Lincoln Hwy, you get a little excited to know this business might finally take that one out. read more

horrible... We went to Cane's after having rough day. Orderd 25 pc. chicken tenders pack and 3 "Frie packs" for a total of $52.96 through the drive thru. Payed for it and we were told to park "at the curbside pickup section" and that they would bring it to us, and so we did. or atleast tried to. it was full. so we waited untill a person left the parked. order placed at 4:10 AND WAITED A FULL ON 25-30 MIN for 25 pc. chiken tenders, note: IT TOOK THE TIME TO ORDER AND GET TO THE WINDOW to get a 50 pc. chiken tender pack last time same place. We walked inside to see wtf is going on and ITS STILL NOT READY. Then we attempted to cancel the order but then "MAGIC" happened and it was there. so then we did not cancel. we asked if there was sauces in there, they said yes. gusse what, no sauces. NOT 1 SAUCE. Came back in and got the sauces. TOOK OUT 40-60 MIN out of our sunday. WHAT A SHAME. so next time, when you consider going to Cane's, think of this review and what could happen. read more

The last time I went there I had gotten a gift card for my sister, When I received the card the cashier said the money was on it. My bank took the money out of my account too..I went to the restaurant to order some food $50 worth. Upon paying, the card never had the money on it and the cashier took it. I obviously didn't have any money other than the gift card so I had to tell them to take it back. read more

The customer service is very poor. Me being an assistant manager for 5 yrs in fast food I wouldn't recommend this place . Manager rudely shut drive thru window on my face and told me I couldn't walk in and pay my bill. They kept talking about me and walking past me when I was in the store. General manager disregarded everything I had told him. read more
