Vanilla shake

Had a great experience tonight at Culver's! My husband and I went tonight for the first time and it was so good. I got the Culver's Deluxe with the pretzel bites and he got the mushroom Swiss burger with jalapeño curds. Everything was so yummy and felt so high quality for a fast food place!! We also got malts/shakes, which were delicious too. Shelby at the front was so sweet and helpful! She made sure to get our order in right and it came out very quickly.

One of my faves here is grilled chicken sandwich and mashed potatoes. Maybe because they are based out of Wisconsin makes them a decent fast food place in my opinion. I have eaten in once and it was a good enough experience. I don't care for the drive thru set up as it seems to make the wait much longer and almost makes me want to go inside rather use drive thru. Otherwise, I like this location.

What I like best about culvers is their ice cream. They refer to their ice cream as custard. I prefer the vanilla over the chocolate custard. They have a lot of different options for their custard as well as their concrete mix. I went with the vanilla ice cream custard with the dove chocolate pieces as my mix in. I went through the drive-through because I thought it would be faster than getting my order taken inside. Usually the restaurant is very busy in general so whether I go through the drive-through or go inside the restaurant, it takes a little bit of time to get my food. They must be quite popular. I find that a little surprising because I used to not see any ads for them on the TV. They put a little sticker on your rearview mirror, so that the employees can tell which car needs to be given what food. I really enjoyed my vanilla custard because it was smooth and creamy. I also really liked the dove chocolate pieces that was inside of it.

Every time we go to the location everything is always fresh. The employees are always super nice and this is our go to spot for a quick bite to eat

Order waiting chairs

I stopped in for a burger today. After I ordered imagine my surprise that I didn't even notice three chairs against the wall. Chairs to sit @ while waiting for your food! Genius. Sometimes it can get crowded and you don't know who's in line and who's waiting for their order. Plus as someone w Chronic Fatigue... sometimes the wait can be rough. I also appreciated that they're still using the sticky numbers from the pandemic. As a germaphob I prefer these to the plastic flag numbers. Thanks Culvers for showing that doing just the little things can really set the tone for the experience!

I love their custard! So sweet and delicious! It's best on a hot summer day although it will melt fast. I like the plain vanilla custard. I haven't tried the chocolate yet. They also have candies and other sweets that can be added.

I ordered two small Thai teas with boba and one small Indian tea, and the total was $19, which felt a bit pricey for the portion sizes. The drinks were okay, but not anything that really stood out. They've also added a small food menu with Mediterranean-style snacks and gyros, which is a nice idea. Overall, it's not bad and convenient if you're nearby, but not somewhere I'd go out of my way for.

It was just interesting to have with a place that appeared to be for ice cream. The ice cream itself was pretty good, but nothing to write home about. A lot of different options and mixtures, but it was definitely on the more expensive side for what is being offered. My bigger gripe was that it took a long time despite there not being too many people. We were the only parties in there in the beginning and a buddy ordered a single scoop of ice cream first. When we had all finished individually ordering, more people arrived. Instead of giving us our orders first or even starting on it (again, our first friend ordered a normal scoop first), he went ahead and started with the customers that just arrived. That would be fine, but as he was the only worker, we had to wait almost 10 minutes before our ice cream was even started on.

And once you try it, you realize why it's so popular. The ice cream tastes incredibly fresh and homemade. My personal favorite is the honey lavender--it's perfectly balanced. The lavender flavor is distinct and aromatic without being overpowering, which is rare since lavender desserts can sometimes lean too subtle or too strong. It's clearly a well-loved place because there's usually a line, but it moves quickly, so the wait is never a big deal. And it's absolutely worth it for the dough melt--seriously, it's to die for. There's just something amazing about that combination of cold, creamy ice cream sandwiched inside a warm donut. On top of all that, the staff is always very friendly, which makes the experience even better. I will always recommend this place!

My boyfriend and I are long distance, but when he was in town, this made for a perfect date night treat! Though the place has no interior seating and only one table, we quickly pivoted the plan to eat in my car. Definitely more of a grab and go place to plan a little differently next visit. And yes, next visit as we both loved what we ordered! My boyfriend wanted the Leslie Knope, but was advised it would take 5-10 minutes so he went with the Dough Melt. I took a bite of his, and it truly was heavenly to have ice cream between a deliciously warm glazed donut though I preferred my order. My scoop of chocolate was perfect for me as I don't like to go too overboard with the sweets! Definitely return here and recommend as the ice cream was very good. Hard for me to find chocolate ice cream that isn't just pure sugar, and tastes like chocolate. Novel hits the mark for me!
