I have traveled to Detroit a lot, but never stopped here. I was told by my classes that this place is good and fresh. I decided to stop. I ordered a Butterburger Deluxe and substituted the fries for curds. It must really be fresh because many line up after ordering to taste the delectables. The person brings it out with nothing said. The service is okay. The curds were very delicious. I wish you had asked for some type of tomato dip to eat in. The burgers were also good. They did not add the ketchup I asked for nor did they remove the onion I also asked to remove. It was a little greasy, but good. Make sure to visit a Culver's. read more

Every single time I go there they tell me they don't have any ice cream / Custard's I think they're just being lazy horrible service

This is not as reliable as the one in Westland but it's closer to my house. Dinners here actually work. Decent fish (both walleye and cod), nice-ish broasted chicken and a pretty good roast beef in a pinch. Mashed taters are good and they have surprisingly fresh (crisp) green beans. Soups can work although they have less variety and rotation than they used to :(. Heads up not everyone wants veggie soup or chili every single time they visit. Yep burgers and fries are tasty and I am a sucker for the cheese curds. Service is highly hit or miss, portion sizes too. Friendliness can be had but it's definitely not a guarantee. I have had super customer service and I have had decidedly lackluster. It is always a long wait for drive through. Check to go bags no mattter where you acquire them before you leave though, accuracy is hit or miss too and they are horrible about any needed sauces or butter for the rolls. You will find it nice and clean inside, that's pretty constant at least and it is appreciated. The daily featured custards are never blended well. I have gotten stale tasting kitkats on a creation once too. My husband thinks this is in no way real custard, it melts too fast and is not rich enough. We only come for treats if we have a big coupon for them and my blood sugar is cooperating. This is where Westland is just so much better IMO, the treats. Skip the lemon ice at either place at any rate, it's just ummmm.... odd. It's about a three and a half overall. The bad times in here just always seem to happen at just the wrong time for us and we end up avoiding here for awhile or trucking out to Westland instead. read more

I've been a big fan of Culver's since my first visit, but I found this one to be a bit of a disappointment. They seemed to make it a bit more difficult than it should have been to order and then ended up getting it wrong. The burger itself was okay, but I've had better at other Culver's. Culver's Your restaurant has cars waiting out in the main road for the drive thru. Saw several very close accident while there. This is being caused by your inside service being closed at 8PM. If you close dining at 8 the drive thru should also close. Your food is cold, ice cream is melted by the time you get it. All I can say is: You must be kidding. Probably the most overpriced and overvalued meal I have had in years. Chicken noodle soup: They may have waved a chicken over the pot, but the single piece of chicken in the bowl was about the size of an aspirin. Almost all broth with a few large noodles, a couple pieces of carrot and a piece or two of celery. Campbells does a much better job. Chili: OK, but not as good as Freddys or Costco. Shakes: Chocolate mint. Mine was OK, my wife's had a huge clump of chocolate in the bottom of the glass. Not anywhere worth the price. First time in several years at Culver's. Our previous experience was expensive but OK food. This time was expensive but lousy food. We will not give it another chance. read more

For a fast food place, they have the customer service mastered! I had never been to Culver's before and was told they had great veggie burgers, although I didn't see it on the menu online so I wasn't sure. When I walked in I was greeted by an enthusiastic employee named John who asked if I had been there before. When I said I hadn't, he gave me an explanation of the place that he called "Culver's in 40 Seconds", or something like that. He was so friendly and funny and really gave us top notch service. Sean and I got our drinks and went smiling over to our table. The food we got was tasty and just how we ordered it. They really do have a great veggie burger, even though they don't advertise it for some reason. I also liked the crinkle fries and cheese curds. Their root beer was also delightful. John came by our table to make sure we liked our food and ask if he could get us anything. You'll never see that at a McDonald's! I was totally impressed with him and I am positive that whatever Culver's is paying him isn't enough. If I owned a restaurant I would steal him in a hot second. On the way out we were offered a free scoop of custard, which I was too full to eat but did anyway. It was hot out and the chocolate custard really hit the spot. It's not often that service and atmosphere are a factor in dining in a fast food restaurant. When it is, I have to share. I have said that the person who invented Culver's must have some kind of sense of humor. The food is good, but butter burgers, with multiple patties? And a shake called a concrete mixer? How could you not be lured in? We go here for frozen Custard often on the way home from a sit down restaurant and usually drive through. We now are dining room dwellers. We come here every couple weeks or so, and it seems that they increase the dosage of the staff's happy pills every time we come in. First, there's Tia, a great smile and relates with the customers on a great level. And then, there's John. I don't know if he's new, or if we just missed him, (if he was working when we came before, we'd know it) He boomed out an energetic greeting and got our order with such a great charm, he sent us giggling to the soda machine. Efficient can be friendly and energetic. John will show you. The burgers were delicious and giant, and the walleye meal I had was ample and crispy (Not greasy at all) The food is as good as you'd expect. The staff in the dining room did an amazing job of keeping the tables clean and the floors swept. the dining room seems to be a bit nicer than a typical fast food place. Don't know if it's the lighting or what... They play satellite oldies, and the music alone is a nice atmosphere generator. Maybe that's it. Maybe it's delicious fatty food and a great staff. Until I moved out here I lived east of Culverland. Now I'm hooked. On days when I just don't feel like expending the energy to get my poor old crippled bones out of the car to eat something, I can get something better than The Usual Junk Food from a good, well run drive-thru. I've yet to go inside. For those new or not from around these here parts, Culver's is known for their "butter burgers" (burgers cooked in butter, hello arteries) and their custard. However they have a huge menu that spans things like chicken sandwiches, fried chicken, salads and more. Like the few other upscaled fast food joints (like Steak & Shake) they cook your food on demand. Unlike Steak & Shake, however, they don't hustle it out. If you go through their drive through they have a system where they pop a numbered placard onto your car and direct you to one of a small pile of parking spaces to wait for someone to run your food out to you. I'm fond of their roasted chicken and grilled reuben sandwiches. Both are just the right size and very tasty. Their fries are crinkle cut and a "regular" bag of them is huge. Culver's is also responsible for my first taste of cheese curds. (Now that I've tried these delectable deep-fried balls of cardiac arrest I gotta try poutine somewhere.) Their salads are huge -- even the side salads are a nice size, and very fresh and tasty. I've had their custard as a shake and as a "cement mixer", a cup of custard with your choice of stuff mixed in. They have a huge pile of available toppings and mix-ins. One day I shall try a sundae, too, but even the single scoop sundaes sound like too much food with the rest of the meal. I've eaten culver's many times before while I was living and working in Green Bay, but this was my best experience so far. Clean bathrooms, nice outdoor seating, TVs in great viewing positions in the dining room, and some good food of course. What made this visit so different from past Culver's visits was our server at the counter. John was unbelievable. He had a great personality, was fun, and may be the first person in a fast food restaurant that made me both happy I went there and impressed with him. My friend had never been to Culver's and John laid out all the options for him, made recommendations, told us about things that weren't shown on the menu, and came around to see how we liked it and check if we needed anything else. Everyone seemed to know him, an he interacted with quite a few tables there. What I'm trying to say is that I expected a fast food experience and that wasn't at all what I got, and I mean that in an overwhelmingly good way. When you're on the road, stop here if you can and you like burgers. If I lived closer, I'd be about 400lbs by Christmas because of both the delicious food and John. read more

Great frozen custard, good burgers with buttered buns; but I'm still trying to find a good vegetarian entree. Fondly recalling the "grilled cheese" at In-n-Out (basically, a cheeseburger with all the fixings, hold the beef), I asked for a grilled cheese; here, it's just bread, yellow cheese, bread. Might work for a 5-year-old, but not what I was looking for. I'm not a fan of most prepackaged veggie patties, so I'll probably skip their veggie burger --- maybe a loaded french fries approximating poutine? Ambiance-wise, this is a place with a drive-through just off the highway exit; there's no gourmet burger experience here. It's clean, but gives me flash-backs to 1980s-family-ski-trip McDonalds visits. Definitely get the custard, but think for a minute before getting a sandwich that didn't used to moo. read more

I work in a financial institution where we differentiate ourselves with our service.. As such, anytime I see someone really take service to heart, I want to make sure and let anyone know. This is one of those times. Because these are large burgers drenched in butter, we don't have a huge occasion to go to this restaurant every day. That said, when we go, we have a great time! A couple months ago, I came in to a very postive and energetic Tia, who took my order and had me at my table with a smile on my face in no time. This last time, John blew me away. No sooner were we in the restaurant when we were greeted warmly and with great energy (I'd call it jovial, but it just doesn't fit) He got down to immediate business of taking our order with an awesome attitude. He gave my daughter a rundown of everything from the kids menu (Yep, he listed it, probably a great thing for little ones who can't read very well) along with sides and a drink, and got our orders done quickly. All done with this great "I will hook you up' attitude. We were left grinning as we filled our drink cups. The restaurant is always clean and has a nice atmosphere with Satellite radio playing some oldies, and employees out and about cleaning tables and asking how things are. The food is good, if you are into that sort of thing. i find the burgers to be a little too much for me, but a single is delicious. I usually get the Walleye. (Which is amazing. not greasy and so tasty) My husband and daughter adore the burgers and corndogs. The custard is great, and we often will hit the drive through for dessert here after we've eaten sit down somewhere else. (which I'd not recommend because you'd miss out on the amazing sit down experience) The drive through is efficient and quick, but not nearly as fun! read more

I usually like dinning here that's why I by passed all other Restaurants.I got in line as I usually do and quite often the drive through line is long. It was near closing time but I was in line before closing. I waited for approximately 10 min before I could place my order and it was still before the exact closing time and the attendant stated I'm sorry, unfortunately we are closed. I could not believe it, I was very hungry and very patient to get my favorite meal. I stated it's not yet 10 o'clock and I was in lone well before 10 o'clock. Please let me speak to the manager. Attendant stated, why do you want to speak to the manager. I stated to voice my complaint. The attendant disconnected and would not bring the manager to address my concern. I continued to wait in line for about another 5 minutes to speak to the manager and no one would address my concern. There were about three other cars behind me waiting to place orders. I never got a chance to speak to management and I left dissatisfied and hungry. I suggest training in Customer-service and as far as Operations, place a cone or marker in the drive thru to indicate the last customer order in line at 10:00 o'clock to maintain good relations. Tremendously disappointed from what I thought was the best fast food Resturant chain in business. The foods is good and fresh the customer service is old and stale. I absolutely love this location. The assistant manager Mr. Johnathan makes your experience at this location absoulty wonderful beginning from Hello. In regards to the food, whenever I am craving an amazing/ authentic Concrete (also known as a Blizzard, or Mix-in) I go to Culver's. Their custard is rich, thick and creamy, but their fresh ingridents help push this delicious dessert/ snack over the top! I also truly enjoy their chicken fingers and fries. Their fries are the crinkly kind that are always served hot and their chicken fingers come in a great proportion size. Overall, this is a great place to eat! read more
