Open since 1972, Cully's has been serving the Poway community and surrounding for over 50 years. I would classify it as a country diner, and it really is a great breakfast and lunch option. For this most recent visit, and our first visit, we chose to stop in for breakfast. It's located in a small shopping center, so there is plenty of free parking spaces right out front. Inside is not very large, but the tables are fairly large, so it can host many different sized groups. Our server was very polite, and everything that we ordered came out very fast. For my breakfast, I chose the Chili Cheese Omelette and thought it was pretty good, but wish they would go lighter on the beans and add more cheese. I felt the coffee was very strong and tasted great, and overall I was happy with breakfast. I will definitely give this place another try and would certainly suggest to anyone in the area or passing through.

...nothing says good morning like a plate that requires a nap immediately after. cully's has been in poway a looong time and is under new ownership - definition of a local classic. If you're looking for no-frills, "home-style" comfort, this is the spot. I went straight for the country fried steak - perfectly golden, smothered in black pepper gravy, and paired with the crispiest hash browns. peep my dad's pancakes in the back. classic diner feels, super friendly service, and large portions as advertised.

My sister and I decided to go out for brunch and found this family owned restaurant off of Poway Road in a little strip mall. It has been in operation in Poway for 53 years and is under new management and has recently had an interior refresh. When we entered the restaurant, we were quickly acknowledged and told we could sit anywhere we wanted. We chose a table for two and were brought drinks immediately. Service was great and our waitress assisted us with placing our order and answering any questions we had. All dishes here are cooked to order . I chose the Poway Omelette with a side of hash browns and sourdough toast. The omelette consisted of cottage cheese, diced tomatoes and avocado. It was a light dish and exactly what I was craving. The hash browns were crispy and cooked perfectly and the sourdough toast was great as well My sister ordered a Mushroom Burger with Swiss Cheese and a side of fries. The burger was amply sized and consisted of mushrooms, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles. She ordered the patty medium rare and it too was cooked perfectly. Her fries looked so good, I had to try them myself. We were able to enjoy our meal in a peaceful and quiet atmosphere and didn't have to worry about a loud dining experience. We never felt rushed and we were able to relax and enjoy our food, drinks and conversation. We were there at 11:45 am and could have possibly missed the breakfast crowd All in all, we appreciated this family owned business and I intend to return soon to support them. Thanks again to the folks at Cully's for great food and service.

Great value. Tons of food. Place is full of regulars and the owner knows a lot of them personally. The best breakfast in Poway hands down.

Nothing special. Not that great. Just a plain breakfast. The reason it got 3 stars is because of our server. The food is just a 2!

The unique dill-turkey pairing was creative (big plus), but I'd try a different sandwich next time. The presentation was great and they brought the food to our upstairs table. It also came with a cucumber-heavy, Greek/Israeli-style side salad (or chips I believe).

But breakfast turned out to be good, and my cousin loved her pancakes. My aunts also loved their French toast. The eggs and hash browns were mediocre at best, and the bacon was so overcooked it had the texture of a chip and was way too salty. It was all fine, just nothing special--something I could've easily made at home for better taste and a lower price. The menu overall felt overpriced for the quality, especially since most items were $17+. Customer service was fine, but nothing stood out or made the experience better. The food did come out quickly, which I appreciated, and our drinks were refilled in a timely manner, which made the experience smoother. The one true highlight was the sourdough toast--it was actually really good. For comparison, places like Broken Yolk Cafe offer breakfast-style meals at a lower price with comparable (or even better) quality and portion sizes, which made this restaurant feel overpriced for what you get. Their website lists prices as $10-$20, but in reality most items I saw were $16+, so the pricing felt higher than expected and feel that should be updated ! That said, I personally find this place a bit too pricey for the overall food quality.
