They serve minors until 6 pm and after that becomes an adult environment. The menu is a simple, yet appetizing selection from your appetizers to steak dinners and about 10 home style soups to choose from daily. Also all day breakfast. They do serve alcohol and have 3 beers to choose from on tap. I do wish they had more of a variety on tap. The drinks are cheaper than most pubs and have daily drink and food specials. 3$ high balls on Saturday night! Over all a great place to go for a good night and good food.

One of the best things about Urban Diner is that they have their own parking lot. Street parking is difficult to find in this popular area of the city. I've nearly always been able to find a parking spot in their lot. Today I ordered the sandwich special which was a schnitzel burger with the daily soup instead of fries. It was nice, not extraordinary, but good. My guest had the breakfast special which was a schnitzel bennie. It looked really good and she enjoyed it. I've never had a bad meal here. I really appreciate the fact that it's not too noisy here. Too many cafes are so loud that it's hard to carry on a conversation. The Urban Diner certainly isn't quiet, but it's quiet enough to hear your guests talking. The service was quick and friendly. Prices were reasonable but not cheap. In the Highstreet area of Edmonton, this is probably one of the more reasonably priced cafes. The coffee was good and includes free refills. I'll definitely be back again and I can always recommend Urban Diner to anyone looking for unique dishes.

Our server was super friendly and attentive. We started off with a plate of snow crab legs, which were very good, fun and messy, but we were brought a bunch of those moist towelettes which helped us clean up after. The highlight of the buffet was a seafood bisque, which I know doesn't sound like anything special, but WOW, was it ever good! Huge chunks of salmon, baby shrimp and clams in a tomato cream sauce. It was amazing! Most of the rest of the food we tried was great, a few lack lister items but that is expected at a buffet. There was a chocolate fountain and lots of delicious desserts as well. Atmosphere was ok, a bit loud but for a casino restaurant it was pretty good.

The shrimp was accompanied by chipolte aioli, lettuce, pico de gallo, pickles, and avocado lime crema. For my soup I asked for the soup of the day which happened to be Moroccan beef. The staff here are quick and wonderful despite being a full house. They are also friendly. Food was delicous as usual. I really enjoyed my soup. The flavours were full and fantastic. The prawns in the tacos were cooked perfectly. However they could of used more pico de gallo and chipolte aioli. Kiddo loved her pasta. My husband enjoyed his sandwich but this time the fries were way too salty. Ambiance is nothing to write home about. It is clean though. i dislike that there are no bathrooms in the actual restaurant. Otherwise a great night.

We were free to sit anywhere we'd like. I got the Thai Cashew Noodle and Avocado Salad and my boyfriend got the Culture Breakfast. We didn't wait long for our food and our server was helpful and nice. Upon arrival, the food was plated beautifully. I loved how vibrant and colorful my plate looked. Although my boyfriend and I cleaned our plates entirely with no crumbs leftover (just sauce marks lol), we felt like our food was just okay. When I saw Thai Cashew Noodles on the menu, I envisioned a thicker noodle diameter. But instead I had thin spindly ones. Also the thai cashew sauce was good, but it was pretty watery. I wish it had a thicker consistency. But I did like how the veggies tasted fresh and the avocado was so creamy. For the price ($20 CAD), I was expecting a pretty large portion but I was able to finish my whole entree. I normally have food leftover whenever I go out to eat, but I was surprised that I finished everything. With this price being the most expensive on the menu, I was let down. It was decent but not amazing. For me, I wouldn't come back just because there's other tasty and more affordable places in the area.

It is pleasant enough on the inside, but pretty non descript. I wouldn't come here for the atmosphere. However if you like clean open concept this may be a place for you. Our server was friendly and helpful, giving her reccomendations. Menu is diverse with many things to try. But not so many that you are overwhelmed. We decided to split a few things. The Korean Schnitzel - Pork Tenderloin, Asian Slaw, Sweet & Sour Sauce, and Peanuts The Saganaki with Honey, Walnuts, and Lemon and the Happy Burger with Gruyere, Bacon Jam, Pickles, Lettuce, Tomato Food came out in a timely manner. Everything was good, but not standoutish that I would run here again. For sure the best bang for your buck was the korean schnitzel. The thing was massive. It was pleasant. Loved the peanuts and slaw that came with it. The saganaki was tasty. The burger which came highly recommended, was decent but by far, not "one of the best burgers" in Edmonton (That was quoted to us.) I much perfer the one at The Next Act. However it was yummy. My wife and I both ordered the Chandru Special for $17.50. It's a crepe with bacon and eggs inside plus some cheese slices melted on top. There was a side of fresh fruit. The presentation was somewhat lacking as the cheese slices made it look like something you find at your children's birthday party. The dish definitely needed some sauce to help it down. At least the fruit was good. Our server was very skilled at tunnel vision as she didn't see us even when walking right by our table. Eventually we caught her and got a refill for our coffee. She was pleasent enough when she arrived but definitely didn't want to do refills. On a more positive note, my friend ordered an omelet which came with potatoes that looked like thick potato chips. They looked good and he liked them. If I return it will be because I am in the area and can't find a better place. In other words, three stars out of five.

The menu is really reflective of the Red Robins menu, with fairly similar items. The issue is the food. It was good. But the steak fries weren't as lovely. They seemed soggy. The burgers were okay, but were not the same juicy, high quality beef as what I expected. I went with the Shroom and Swiss - Sautéed mushrooms and Swiss cheese on a 6oz patty with our Parmesan and garlic infused butter spread. So what I did like about my burger was that they were really generous with the mushrooms. If I end up going back, I probably will choose this again. My husband went with the Applewood Smokestack burger - 6oz patty with cheddar, applewood smoked bacon, BBQ mayo and hickory sticks. Kiddo went with the mac and cheese and fries. She loved her meal. Pretty non descript with the atmosphere but comfortable.
