My second visit was on a Taco Tuesday day. The taco deal was amazing but the service was just ok a bit slow for a day time visit. The tacos were delicious and I really enjoyed the chips basket with dips. I favored the bean and cheese dip So I noticed for a weekday they are much more busy on the evening weekends I would like to make another visit on their buy one get one sushi days soon in the near future (Wednesdays) I can't wait because I did enjoy them the first time I came on a Saturday evening. I would highly recommend them because the food is delicious but they should be a little more on checking up and estimate when our server should bring our check or ask if we wanted to order more and I had to wait a bit but I was in no rush but I could tell any other person would be like where is our server. Small issue but I wouldn't pass them up. I do like to point out that the weekends are a much louder scene Their parking situation is very hectic. My family and I came to Culichi Town for my sisters birthday and our server Juan was amazing! I have a severe shellfish allergy and he made me feel very comfortable! Such bad service by Freddy. He sat us down, took a long time just to get our drink order, and then continued serving other tables while completely ignoring us. We never received the chips and salsa that are usually offered after drinks. We had been sitting at our table for almost an hour before I had to speak to another woman working there. She seemed surprised and called Freddy over to finally take our order. After another 20 minutes, I got up and spoke to the manager because I couldn't understand why every other table was being served and getting chips while we were still sitting there waiting. Went here for Mother's Day and the wait was less than 5 minutes. They sat us and took our drink and food order pretty quick. They had live music which was good. They were taking requests and going around playing their music. The live band does make it difficult to hear other people talk but the music was good. I was very disappointed with their fried rolls. We ordered the guamuchilito and norteño roll. But they did not fry the rolls well at all. It tasted more soggy than crispy. Definitely a different style of breading than Japanese sushi. We ordered take out on my daughters bday. Carolina was so helpful on the phone. I mentioned that we were going to come in for the first time and celebrate her bday but decided to stay in. Carolina went out of her way to make my daughter feel special and included a free bday dessert and a birthday card in our order. She made my daughter's night! The sushi was good in the first few bites, but it wasn't amazing anymore. The rice was a little strange as well, not in taste, more like the texture. We got a tray of seafood, which was SOO GOOOOD!!! This is my 3rd visit and probably my last. Luckily we went during a mid-week lunch. The place was empty. We were seated promptly, but the wait for ice tea drinks was about 20 minutes. Food: The chips are light, warm and crispy. The salsa and bean dip are passable. The guacamole is really good. It could use a little more salt or lime juice. The portion is large enough for 3 hungry adults. My mom's Ranchero shrimp was above average. My dish was a disappointment. I ordered prime steak taco with melted cheese. The meat tasted like it sat on the counter all day, dry, flavorless and hard. Then a pinch of some type of baked cheese topped with cilantro. I wanted to gag. It was so upsetting I took it home and my shrimp taco. Later that day, I tried it again. This time the shrimp taco and it had a strange taste. I dumped both tacos in the garbage. For non-native Spanish speakers, you will need to be patient. But service is incredibly slow for an empty restaurant. My second visit was on the weekend. That music was so loud! We came to celebrate my dad and uncle's birthday at Culichi Town. To begin, the waiter received us with attitude, since we reserved our spot they gave us uncomfortable sitting. When we asked twice if we could move, they kept telling us no, then one staff member told us it was fine, but moments later, another rudely informed us that we couldn't sit there and placed a "reserved" sign on the table even though several other tables around us were empty. You just take a picture of the bar code that's on the table. Our server was very attentive at first. We got avocado dip, mojitos and the culchi margarita (very spicy). We then got food, breaded shrimp, shrimp a la diabla and tilapia. The beans and rice are very good. The shrimp a la diabla was too spicy for my aunts. Went here recently to celebrate an early birthday for my bf & thought this was a good change from the places we normally go. For our orders both my bf and I got sushi. I cant remember which roll he got, I think it was the Philledelphia and I got the Lupillo roll. The portion of our entrees was a really good size; we even had to take some home bc we were already getting full towards the end of our meal. And the waitress was very attentive to bring more chips, salsa, and water whenever we needed which I appreciated. The only thing I wish that maybe could have been different is more familiar sauces for the sushi because some were unfamiliar; terriyaki or chipotle would have been nice. My husband and I came here for a lunch date . It seemed recently renovated since the last time I visited this restaurant which was about 5 years ago. The staff is very pleasant and food it good.
