I've seen this place occasionally when driving by the area, but never thought of going in until my niece mentioned it. So we came here for quick snackies and boba. As most boba places are, this was counter service. There were a few parties waiting for their order already, so we took a seat in the waiting area while looking over the extensive menu. It's a really cute atmosphere. There are yellow chick stuffed animals (the mascot) at the ordering station, plenty of seating/lounge areas, and even booths with your own privacy curtain. They have drinks and snacks galore: milk teas, fruit teas, smoothies, street snacks, bento boxes, etc.! I ordered the Taiwanese chicken nuggets (spicy). Nice texture and they used dark meat so it was tender. They were lightly dusted in spice so it could have been spicier in my opinion, but still delicious. I also got a peach milk tea with lychee and mango jelly. The drinks all come in one size, and it's a fairly decent amount. My niece and her friend got the mango milk tea with boba. She raved about the chicken sandwich. Now I usually don't care for chicken sandwiches, because I think they're basic and I already had one not too long ago. But OMG. She let me try a bite and it's one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. Juicy, crispy, and the sauce they use is bomb. I think it's spicy mayo but it's not regular spicy mayo....they had to have put crack in it, I swear lmao. My chicken nuggets were good, but that chicken sandwich was fire! We ended up getting a sandwich to-go (for someone else though) and then we were still hungry, so we ordered some more chicky nuggies! I asked for a side of that crack sauce (spicy mayo) but I don't think the cashier knew what I was talking about so she said "zesty bites?" And I was like sure...? I'm glad she mentioned it because the garlic took it to the next level. The zesty bites are pretty much the chicken nuggets drizzled with spicy mayo and fresh garlic. We LOVE this place! Went one day and went back the next to get more The restaurant is clean and spacious. Given COVID, we got food to go and couldn't wait any longer because of the amazing smell and devoured everything we got in the car, sitting in the parking lot. The pork sandwiches are so juicy, crispy, and flavorful! We had a chicken sandwich as well. Good, but not as good as the pork one. I also really liked the Taiwanese sausages, though my husband thinks it's too sweet. We will definitely be back before long!! It is a good place to come hang out with friends but the wi-fi was quite slow when I went so I wouldn't come here to work/study for long hours. As for the food, the brown sugar milk tea was meh-- the milk tea just tasted like sweet, watered down milk and the boba was so mushy that it kept getting stuck in the straw. However, I really liked the Taiwanese chicken nugget! The serving was pretty big for the price and the nuggets were crispy. I chose the medium spicy but I would probably get the original flavor if I come back because I found the spicy powder to be a little bit too salty. read more

A few of my friends raved about Cuckoo's for weeks. Finally got to try it a few weeks back. Located now in the space that 7 Coffee and Wine used to be. Everything is freshly made to order. The interior is kept the same, but the front is decorated with their cute chicken logo and some seats for a photo op. We ordered the Fruitarian, filled with chunks of grapefruit, pineapples, and passionfruit. I had opted for less sugar and it was perfect! Absolutely refreshing. Also ordered mini taiyaki filled with custard, which you can choose to top off with condense milk. For fried snacks - chicken nuggets and fried tofu, and chicken sandwiches. Huge chunks of nuggets. Love this place!!! :D Soooo super cute and HUGE! Bump going to Quikly's where the line be out the door ':) This place has hella seating and in the back they have where u have ur own section with curtains. Hella lounge areas and an outside seating also. I dig it!! We ordered the combo yesterday that had fried chicken nuggets, fried tofu, and fried fish balls.. We also ordered the corn nuggets which was bangin' btw. Gotta ask for extra spicy powder!! We didn't ask for enough yesterday but its cool.. We also got a Thai Bubble Tea and I got the Lychee Mandarin Fruit Tea. Refreshing except for the fact that it was freeeeezing yesterday! The cutest little cafe I've seen in awhile. This place is just off of Steve Reynolds near satellite. Has a huge open space with comfy lounge sofas, private booths and outside patio. I was driving past this place for about a week since its literally 5 min from my house and at first glance, I was certain it was an American styled cafe since it wasn't one of those major brands. I've since been here more times then I can count so I will judge this off of my first visit. ATMOSPHERE This place is the old 7 coffee location so Its a pretty large venue to host a cafe in. If you are looking for a place to study and enjoy a good drink or snack this is definitely one of the better choices due to the large space. There are booths everywhere, couches and tables, and a pretty large outside area that can seat possibly up to 30 people. The music is not too loud so I liked that. My only take away is that 7 Coffee was a bit trashy due to all the lewd graffiti and such written all over the booths. I would hope that they plan on cleaning this up in the future. It's hard to promote something new with the worst of the old still present. STAFF The staff was very friendly and kind. One of the managers Vivian (I'm probably selling this wrong) was very kind and speaks both Mandarin and Japanese which is pretty cool. I have heard only good things about how kind the staff here is. I made my food order and sat outside so I was glad they found me out there with my drink/food order instead of just leaving it on the counter as some places have done. FOOD. The food menu is here is pretty awesome and a bit overwhelming. One thing I have against many places that open with Tea in Duluth is the lack of good food. The most you will get are a few snacks but nothing that equates to an actual meal. You get the best of both worlds here - not only is there a snack menu of overwhelming proportions, there Is also a menu consisting of chicken sandwiches, katsu, crab cakes and other larger items. So let's dig into my first try: CUCKOO'S CHICKEN SANDWICH One thing that you think about when you look at the name of this place is the fact that its a chicken spot. They specialize in their Taiwanese Chicken, Chicken Cutlet, and Chicken Sandwich (and all are made differently). Anyhow, wanting to try the most sought after item, I went with the chicken sandwich and loved the overall taste of it. Your getting a patty made from just chicken thighs so it's a dark meat patty (my fav) that is cut and made daily (not frozen). On top of it is a slaw that almost resembles what you would get in a Banh Mi sandwich. There is also this spicy mayo I cant figure out and picked jalapenos. You can choose if you want it spicy, mild or regular. At only 4.95, its a great deal unlike other similar spots where its literally twice the cost. JASMINE MILK TEA I was told to go with the Jasmine milk tea so ....that's what I did. I wanted to try just one of the regular teas to see how fresh it was. You could definitely taste the tea over the milk and sugar. I am more on the HK milk tea persuasion so I want to actually taste the tea in my drink. Other then that, I would say visually, there could be more done on the tea end so make it more social media friendly. SNAP DRAGON The drink menu is broken up into quite a few categories - one being the Tea Cocktails which consists of the teas blended with real fruit juice, jams etc. I didn't try this on my first go but Daral (The YAM) got the Snap Dragon and loved the flavor of it. in his words, it was very "refreshing". OTHER SNACKS In my opinion my favorite snack foods here would consist of the Taiwanese Sausage, Shrimp Cake and Takoyaki Altogether I would say this is one of my favorite places to hang out and get work done. I've never been to Seven Coffee (what was previously at this location), but my fiancé shared that interior is the same when I talked about how uncomfortable the booths were. The writing on the walls are from way back when, etc. Considering how uncomfortable seating is, I wouldn't recommend this location as a study/work place. It's currently open for sit in and many people are present in large groups. I saw multiple people without masks on just standing around and no one asked them to put one on. Milk teas are mediocre. Black milk tea was actually water. I could at least taste the jasmine in the royal milk tea, so it was okay. Black and royal milk tea were $3.99 each and includes one free (basic) topping, i.e. boba, pudding, flavored jellies. Drinks weren't very sweet (we ordered one at 75% and another at 50%) and only come in one size. Boba is very soft, overcooked, and not chewy, could just be a fluke for today. Chicken nuggets are $4.99 and chicken cutlet is $5.99. Garlic is an extra 0.25. I asked if garlic comes cooked/fried, etc and was told yes by the cashier (however, she is clearly new). Garlic comes raw and roughly cut. Iffy if onions come raw too. They just threw the cutlet into a baggy... difficult to eat unless I just eat it out of the bag. I thought I saw photos of it cut into slices but maybe that has changed. Nuggets and cutlet taste very similar to Quickly's in terms of batter and seasoning. Skip the cutlet and just get nuggets. Minimum $8 for card. They now have order online, which I suggest as lines got very long around 7pm. Food takes a bit longer than drinks. I've honestly been very impressed with Cuckoo's Cafe so far. My friend and I were having the typical mid-day snack craving last week and decided to give Cuckoo's Cafe a try. It's only been one week and I have already been back twice more after the first visit. Like many reviewers have mentioned, the now chicken theme cafe has replaced what was then known as 7 Coffee and Wine. Located right on Steven Reynold's Blvd, Cuckoo's is a super spacious cafe, so you'll have an assortment of seating varieties to choose from. Cuckoo's serve your typical Asian snacks/street food such as chicken nuggets, fish balls, Takoyaki, mochi ice-cream, and Taiyaki. They also serve boba drinks that all come in one size, each with the straw+sip 2-in-1 styled lid. What I noticed that Cuckoo does that many other new boba teas don't have is the free "first standard topping" with each drink. Standard toppings include: Tapioca pearls, chia seeds, egg pudding. and all jelly toppings. Premium toppings include: Aloe vera and popping boba toppings (flavors include mango, passion fruit, and lychee). After the first standard topping, additional standard toppings at $0.50 and premium toppings at $0.75. As we walked up to look at the menu, we were cheerfully greeted by the cashier on duty. She was super sweet and bubbly. I didn't catch her name, but she remembered us the next time we came back and had the same welcoming reaction. My friend ordered a Passion fruit tea, while I settled to my usual go-to drink whenever I visit a new boba cafe -- oolong milk tea, regular sugar, regular ice. We also shared an assortment of snacks: chicken nuggs (a staple), Takoyaki, and pork intestines/chitlins. The cashier asked if wanted to spicy up our nuggets with the addition of garlic to it and agreed. She told us it would be extra, which I appreciated and accepted. Each order comes with a number, but since the cafe is so big, we weren't quite able to hear out order number called. Fortunately, our cashier probably knew this was the case and was king enough to bring out everything to our table and even thanked us for waiting. Thank you again sweet Cuckoo cashier/barista! As for the drinks and food, everything was pretty good. - Chicken nuggs ($4.99): Pretty standard/average. I don't know if the garlic added a ton of additional flavor to it, but it's a nice option to have. Ton of nuggs given with the order (like your Quickly's nuggs sized serving; I know people know what I'm talkin' about) - Takoyaki ($6.99): Good, standard. Comes in 6 pieces. - Pork chitlins ($9.99): My friend and I both agreed that the pork chitlins was the favorite. Very well seasoned, came with onions, nice and crispy. I know this might not be everyone's o' tea, but I think it's one of those things to try at least once! - Passion fruit tea ($3.99): Super refreshing. 100% sugar would probably be the perfect amount of sugar for this drink. - Oolong milk tea ($3.99): Pretty good, however probably not my fav oolong milk drink. 100% sugar would also be just fine though. I did find my go-to drink at Cuckoo's during my return a few days later and that is their Wintermelon Milk Tea. Oooooh, the flavor is just on point. Very creamy, delicately sweetened, smooth. I love it. I just go all out with 100% sugar. I haven't tried their boba topping, so I don't have an opinion on that as of right now, but Cuckoo's Cafe, you have a thumbs up from me! read more

Here I am again on the quest for some good food and good drinks! I actually came across Cuckoo's Cafe by accident and it was a happy accident. I have been to Cuckoo's Cafe 4xs already in the past 2 weeks and I have also recommended several people to the place since then. It's hard to find some good Taiwanese food and I am happy to come across some amazing snacks at Cuckoo's Cafe. I am also loving their bubble teas and the PRICE. For the size that you get, the price is hard to beat. I have tried brown sugar milk tea and also Jasmine milk tea. They are both delicious, I just wish there was more Boba in there.   Food wise, I have ordered the Cuckoo chicken sandwich (original and spicy) Spicy comes with jalapenos if you want along with the special sauce (Spicy mayo). In the original, sauce is on the side but the spicy comes with sauce in the bun. Their coleslaw is not like your average American coleslaw. It's Asian style and for those who don't like coleslaw, I find that this coleslaw will do just fine in your sandwich. All chicken are prepared fresh so be aware when you order it, it will take time. But while you are waiting, find an available seat because there are tons around and the décor is very unique but welcoming.   The staff is absolutely amazing. Very friendly and patient. I met the owner when I was ordering their brand new item which was the pork chop sandwich. I recommend the deep fried pork chop because it was amazing. I received my sandwich on toast instead of bun but it didn't bother me because I was still able to enjoy it.   Things to try would be the calamari rings, Taiwanese chicken nuggets, Tai yaki red bean, sesame balls, the chicken sandwich, pork chop sandwich, and try the pig intestines. (If you like it spicy, let them know but sometimes they might ask you. If you like it extra spicy, you can request for more and it'll come in condiment container.)   Overall, fantastic food, great atmosphere, and great service. I have heard of this place for a few weeks now and finally got the chance to stop by on a weekday afternoon. This replaces the 7 coffee store - I have never been to this place previously but the place is a little dark with a lot of seating. We heard the snacks were good - we opted for the chicken nuggets. I recommend getting the garlic ones - it is much more flavorful. For the price they give you a good serving. We also tried the fruitarian drink - which had chunks of grapefruit and passion fruit. I came here the opening week and tried the taro milk tea - it tasted great. It was a very large size. I also tried the taiyaki with bean inside and those were good too. I want to go back to try the chicken sandwich. The staff said it is great and supposed to be better than Popeyes sandwich. I visited this new bubble tea place recently, and I was amazed at how pretty it is! Cuckoos cafe is very big and has a bunch of private booths and outdoor seating, so you don't have to worry about social distancing. While I was there, I ordered a grapefruit flavored green tea and a Cuckoos Chicken Sandwich. The cashier was super friendly, offering a bunch of different options. The value of the items here is great. The chicken sandwich was only 4.99, but the portions are so generous that I ate half of it for lunch and the other half for dinner! This sandwich was so delicious it knocked my socks off - it was juicy and crispy and the perfect level of spicy. They also had a photo area with a giant metal chicken where you can take a photo. The staff members asked if I would like to take a polaroid and hang it on a little photo wall, which was really cute. Overall, this place is a 10/10. The staff is super friendly, the cafe is pretty and clean, the prices are great, and the food is incredible! I really didn't want to write a bad review for this place, but my experience here was just not good. We came on a Friday afternoon. The place was pretty empty so we were far from any other guests (a requirement for me). It's a cute place and I like how they had curtains up on the booths for privacy and protection. I did find it dark in there though as the windows on the side have a deep tint on them. We ordered the Taiwanese chicken nuggets, crab cakes, spring rolls, Taiwan sausage, a strawberry slushie, and a Fruitarian. Our food order took over twenty minutes to be called. That might be standard, but it seemed a mighty long time to me. I have received full meals in less time. This was not a big deal though. What was a big deal was the food itself. One bite of the chicken nuggets and it was clear that something was very wrong with the chicken. It had a funky and horrible taste like it was spoiled chicken. If you've encountered bad chicken before, you know what I'm talking about. It turned my stomach immediately and had to be discarded in a most unceremonious way. I've had my share of Taiwanese chicken and this was just subpar. The crab cakes were full of filling and I couldn't even identify any crab, real or imitation. They were flavorless. The spring rolls were mushy. The Taiwan sausage was a winner. They were delicious. Also, the drinks were outstanding. After coming here several times just to get drinks and snacks to-go I came in several times to work on my computer since they had lots of seating with power outlets. As far as a place to come and sit with friends etc it's nice as they have several large tables with curtains you can close as well as a shelf of games you can take to your table to play. But unfortunately, the downsides of this place have prevented me from returning. To start, when you place an order for both food and drink they will make each item separately and call your number even though only part of your order is ready. Sorry, did I say call? No, they scream your number! On my second dine-in visit I remembered this and waited for them to call my number a second time and go get it all at once. That didn't work. If you don't come to get your item immediately they will repeatedly scream your number until you come to get your partial order. Since many order both food and drink they scream the same numbers multiples times the entire time you are there. Every food item I have ordered has been very salty. I have inquired while ordering if the items can be made with less salt, they cannot as everything is prepped in advance. Since everything is salty you end up consuming your drink faster. This leads to the next problem, they have a minimum credit/debit purchase amount which is about $0.30 more than the cost of a single drink with tax. So if you only have a card for payment you can't get another drink. I have attempted to pay with a card and give a tip to bring the amount over the minimum but according to the employees, the owner will fire them if they do that. They also welcome people to smoke on the outdoor patio by placing ashtrays on the tables. Gwinnett County banned smoking in outdoor seating areas of businesses in 2004! This shopping center was built in 2007 so ashtrays should not even exist in that space. This place has the potential to be a nice place to sit and work but the constant screaming and inability to buy a second drink if I don't have cash has prevented me from returning. read more

Cute little boba shop on the ever growing Pleasant Hill. Once you step through the door, you get a nice modern grass wall touch but the further you go the more chaotic it becomes. The interior was a mix of a lodge/inn, fancy hotel lobby and restaurant. One thing I thought was interesting was that the booths on the side had little transparent curtains, just for a tad bit of privacy. I decided to come here with a few friends and I ordered the brown sugar milk tea as it was #1 on their menu. It was pretty typical, nothing overly special. My friend ordered the lemon tea drink and it was super tasty and refreshing. Sorta tasted like there was a hint of jasmine in it! One downside is that there's only one size drink. It is pretty pricey... close to $7 for one drink! They have a little game station so while you're chilling with your friends you can totally get out some cards and play. I would definitely consider this place a hidden gem. It's a small cafe where you can chill or study at which is nice. They specialize in their small bites which we ordered for Togo. We ordered the pork & egg sandwich, chicken sandwich, and crabby sandwich all spicy. We also got the chicken nuggets and tako yaki as well which were super good as well. Everything was delicious and the perfect amount of spice. The food is cheap as well for the amount they give us. The lady that helped us was super nice and friendly. I enjoyed my visit to Cuckoo's Cafe. I ordered a Brown Sugar Boba Tea with Coffee Jelly inside and some hot Sesame Balls. Both were very good. It felt like there was a young and diverse group of high school and college aged kids who come here the most. However, I am sure most anyone would enjoy their experience here. I agree with other Yelp reviews I read in that your items are ready separately and you have to get them right away when they call your number at the front counter. They do not bring the items to you. There is also an $8 minimum for credit card purchases. Prices were fair. The customer service was very good in my opinion as well. I'm quite disappointed with my order today... I ordered 2 chicken sandwiches and an order of nuggets. One of my chicken sandwich was undercooked, as you can see in the picture shown. I've never had an issue with Cuckoo so this is definitely very disappointing. I would normally give 5 stars but I had to knock off 2 stars for the undercooked chicken.. -1 for the carelessness of the chef and -1 for the possibility of giving me food poisoning... The food is good and the flavor is always on point but I think I'd probably wait a while before I go again.. My stomach doesn't sit well with undercooked poultry but more power to those that can handle it. read more

The chicken is freaking amazing! The people that wasted their time in line at Popeye's for the chicken sandwich a while back should have come here. These folks have a great chicken sandwich. It's a perfectly fried, dark meat fillet. The chicken "nuggets". Excellent! Perfectly crispy dark meat chicken chunks. Just like anything in life, your experience will also depend who's at work that day. Today, there were several teenage girls that mostly ignored me the whole time I was there. I figured out how to order online and just wait for my order. I finally asked one of the young ladies if my order was ready and she says, "Oh, it's right here." I am coocoo for Cuckoo's lol. This is my new favorite place to study. It replaced the 7 coffee in Duluth. I've never been to 7 coffee so I can't comment on changes I've noticed. But interior/space-wise this place is literally made for COVID-19. And by that I mean everything is spaced out SO WELL. It's almost perfect. There are booths with ample seating and walls in between so they give a nice sense of privacy. The chairs and couches are all well spaced out. The interior is super open and spacious. There isn't really any reason to have close contact with strangers. Of course it's always best to avoid dining in and practicing what is most safe. For me personally I felt comfortable studying and eating here. I do not know how often they clean the tables though so take that into consideration. It's not noisy inside so it's good for studying. There are outlets by most of the booths. The decor is cute and they have some nice plants. Their chubby little chicken logo is so adorable. The snack menu reminds me so much of Quickly's. They have a bunch of Taiwanese fried snacks, basically almost everything Quickly's has but more. Some unique items include their chicken sandwich, fried chicken cutlet, crabby sandwich, Tainan shrimp/chicken rolls, and they also allow you to add garlic or onions to your snack which is pretty nice. You can also ask for sauce like spicy mayo, seafood sauce, and more. Their prices are pretty reasonable. Their tea menu is waaaaayyy better than Quickly's! They serve much better quality tea. They may not have as much variety, but they still offer some unique flavors. They make interesting fruit cocktails as well, and they have non-dairy options. I also saw whipped coffee and vanilla soy milk on the menu. All bubble tea comes in one size and while it is not the best I've had, it's still good quality and can hold on its own compared to other boba places in Duluth/Buford Hwy. So far I have tried their Oolong Milk Tea, Coffee Milk Tea, Taro Milk Tea, Snapdragon fruit tea, and Morning Dew fruit tea. All were tasty. I usually do not like fruit teas but I was surprised to find that I really enjoyed the Snapdragon. I would definitely get that one again. I don't remember what their boba is like (trying to avoid boba because sometimes it is too filling for me) but I think it's usually ok. A friend of mine said she thinks she got a slightly old/stale batch because they were a little hard? As for snacks I have tried the Taiwanese chicken nuggets, popcorn shrimp, onion rings, and the crispy tofu. All were delicious and the bags were filled to the brim. I'd say it is pretty close to Quickly's quality (sorry I keep comparing them), they just need time to perfect it. One thing I noticed is that they are not as heavy handed on the spice. I like spicy and sometimes I find they don't add as much as I thought - so keep that in mind. My brothers tried the chicken sandwiches and enjoyed them. My only gripe is that sometimes when it's a hot day out, the inside of the shop is hot as well. Idk how other customers are faring but sometimes I come out of there feeling gross and sweaty. Excellent customer service, the manager is so sweet and so nice. They really want to make sure you have a good experience! Sweet Hut used to be the MacDaddy of cafes in Duluth... but that was until Cuckoo's Cafe came to exist. Unlike the workers at Sweet Hut, the Cuckoo's Cafe staff never give me the "Get lost fatty. It's barely Tuesday and we've already seen you come in 3 times this week" face. Maybe the Sweet Hut workers look at me like that because I shove 5 extra boba straws into my pockets every time that I go there.. but that's besides the point. The point is: I love Cuckoo's Cafe. From the low prices, to the chubby chicken mascot that's displayed all throughout the cafe... it's needless to say that I am now a Cuckoo's Cafe "Clucker" (P.S. Please make that our fanbase name). read more

I came here three days back to back for their Taiwanese Chicken Sandwich because of how delicious it was! The sauce and pickled veggies all compliment one another so well! At only about $5 a sandwich, it's a nice switch up from the typical Chick-fil-A spicy chicken sandwich and I get to support a local business!! Next time I'm trying it with a fried egg!! If you're ordering pick up, make sure you call ahead because they make it fresh so it'll take about 10-15 minutes for your order to be ready. read more
