We were forced to scramble, rent a car, and move a significant portion of our items ourselves. At the final location, the situation got worse--the movers refused to carry items up to the apartment and instead dumped boxes and furniture on the sidewalk. We had to finish the move ourselves with help from friends, while still being charged hundreds of dollars for "service" that was never actually provided. When we tried to resolve this reasonably, the company was rude, dismissive, and then completely stopped responding. After being ignored, we sent a formal demand letter and ultimately had to take them to small claims court--where we won. Even then, they refused to pay, skipped a court hearing, and only responded after being served by a sheriff. This was one of the most unprofessional experiences I've dealt with. Save yourself the time, money, and stress--go with a reputable moving company instead.

Once from Boston to Northern New Jersey (Spring 2015) and then again from Northern NJ to Western Massachusetts (late Spring 2018). In both moves The Other Guys has been nothing but efficient, cost-effective, kind, helpful, caring, and flexible. Jane in the office rocks! Their email response time is second to none. Plus, she fields and fielded so many last moment changes in the move from Boston to NJ, she deserves a medal. I recently needed additional documentation to have my employer cove some costs and all materials were sent over immediately, even though my move was a while ago. In the most recent Northern NJ to Western MA, happened very fast and had a tight timeline. Julius and his team were able to help. I did not think they would even be interested in a move that required them to start in NJ, but thankfully, they were. Their quote was spot on and thorough, included toll estimates, mileage, materials, time, and more. Many other companies left out tolls and materials fees. Plus, it was much cheaper than some options in NJ (those NJ movers were BANANAS). They kept me updated the way down to NJ and throughout the drive north. When we got to the final destination in Western Mass, Julius made sure we saw the scratches on the hardwood, right under where we were placing our bed, left by previous tenants to ensure our landlord did not charge us. Each move, I had nothing damaged and everything was handled with great care and respect. I cannot recommend this company enough.

Here's the thing about old documents,like maybe some of you out there, I still had a lot left going back some 16 to 17 years. Now like a lot of people out there I have a shredder. Let's be honest though,how many of us (10 pages at a time) will actually shred such a big amount in a relatively short time? Raise your hand. (Pause). Yeah me neither. This is where neighborhood parcel comes into the picture. They are quick and efficient. If you take the drive up there my advice is to look for parking space 999( no not even making this up) as that is right in front of the building. They remembered me from a few years ago (hey I had a ton of old papers then). They are friendly as well and weigh each loose bag by the pound. Ironically I filled out and had them mail out the notarized certificate of document destruction. They will also email it to you only if you prefer. I can't tell you how much time they saved me (as I am getting to that stage in life of weighing time vs. money vs. the fact I won't do it all myself in this case). The relief of knowing that these old documents I was never going to look at again were all gone is priceless.
