The required proof of insurance to move in is ridiculous. Cube Smart makes the rules extremely troublesome to make sure that you grossly overpay for their provided insurance. To meet their expectations you need to request insurance 10-15 days BEFORE moving in. Public Storage and most places give you a one month grace period and make it simple and make your first impression a good one. Cube Smart wants to make sure that annoy you from the start. Then they make sure to reject what you provide so you're stuck overpaying for a second month. Hoping you'll just give up and get used to paying extra every month. (My agent is used to having to send 2-3 insurance certs when dealing with Cube Smart.) read more

So the manager, Dave, is really nice. That's about all this place has going for it. 1) There is NO security there. The fence around the units is falling down in several places, and the gates are left wide open on the weekends, even when management isn't there. 2) There isn't a single dumpster on the property, so you'll be taking any trash with you. 3) There is almost no parking, and Dave's wound-up assistant gets his panties in a bunch if you don't park exactly where he wants you to park. 4) You have to park next to the curb to unload, which is a minor hassle. 5) There are HUGE dips in the road around the units, big enough to dump all your stuff in the back of a truck. 6) They are allowing people to live in there. When we were first shown a unit, the assistant walked by an open unit and said to someone inside, "We're coming through and they will need to get through here." As I walk by I look inside to see who he's talking to, and there's a dude in there eating Cheez-Its in front of his "desk" that he's set up in a 5x5. There are personal items on top of the desk. His clothes are haning to the right. HE IS LIVING IN THE UNIT. How can they allow that?! 7) There aren't enough carts, so if you show up on a Saturday, you'd better have your own dolly. 8) He asked me not to take a sticker off the lock he gave me. I asked why. He said, "Because if it's torn, we'll know it's been tampered with." Um, what? The sticker is not over the functioning part of the lock. So taking the sticker off a lock doesn't prove anything. Bizarre. So no, I do not recommend this place at all. read more

I rented an interior unit at CubeSmart Self Storage in January 2019. The rental process was easy, the payments were ACH'd appropriately. Everything seemed great. I didn't go there very often, mostly because, well, it's storage, and you don't need to get in and out very often, but also because on the third floor, where my unit was located in one of the buildings, several people appeared to be living there. They'd sit either in their units with the door open, or they'd hang out at the end of the hallways, again, with their various units open. In early May, I went to my unit, to add/move whatever, and I couldn't get the lock mechanism to slide like it was supposed to - I banged it, I jiggled the door, you name it. So, I went and found the manager, and he told me that my unit must have been one of the ones broken in to the week before. What? I was kind of shocked, but when we went back up to the unit so he could replace the entry mechanism, I could see where someone had forcibly bent parts and there were scrapes all over the door frame. I asked why they didn't call or send a letter, and he said that he had no way of knowing which units were affected, so he didn't want to alarm everyone. Let's take a minute and digest that. NO WAY OF KNOWING WHICH UNITS were broken into by force. Huh? And, why wouldn't you want to ALARM EVERYONE? I mean, people pay you to securely store their stuff. Why not send a letter/call/anything at all to tell renters that there was a breach in the building and that they should check it out as soon as they can. What's the worst that can happen? You might actually know what happened in your facility? Anyway, a family heirloom was stolen. I was/am devastated. I filed a police report, and filed an insurance claim (by the way - if you MUST rent here, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, get the insurance). I was compensated, and have since cleaned out my unit and completed my contract. I took awhile to post something because I thought my anger or hurt or disappointment would subside. It hasn't, it's changed - I still miss my heirloom, but my anger isn't really with the opportunist who stole it, but with the mismanagement of a company and facility I trusted. Long Story Short, my advice to CubeSmart: kick out the squatters, get better security, communicate with your customers... We all deserve better. read more

With little notice and an expiring lease, we were left with clearing out the storage units, of a friend who died recently. Under difficult circumstances, John went out of his way to be helpful by granting us a "grace period" without extra charge, helping us dispose of some trash and generally being available to answer our questions and problems. We worked in a comfortable, well-lit space and had the use of three handcarts to sort and transport. Great job! read more

I had a very good experience renting storage from CubeSmart. John and Dave were always helpful and friendly. The facility seemed secure and the climate control was important to protect my belongings from Denver's extreme temperatures. There were 2 elevators to my second floor unit, both always operational. There were a few flat dollies on hand. When I moved in, I was able to use their truck, so no need to hassle with a U-Haul. Move out was a breeze. read more
