Side of Black Beans and white Whie Rice

Great serendipitous experience while stopping to get gas and being hungry. The guys there are very nice and cool. The hood is ready in 6-8 minutes. I love the bread that made my sandwich but the steak was a little bit tough. The rice was nicely cooked and the black beans were hot but weren't seasoned much. Nice little hole-in-the-wall spot for a quick eat.

Beef Empanada -loved the whole green olives! Great!

A terrific, somewhat divey find thanks to Yelp. From reading the reviews of locals or visitors from Miami, this spot must be right out of Little Havana. The owners, who cook and run the show at Cuban Window Cafe, certainly speak the Spanish lingo. It's wonderful seeing newcomers doing so well and living the dream!! Of the empanada and the Cuban sandwich, my favorite today was the beef empanada. Delicious! It was packed with seasoned ground beef and green olives, $3 each. Loved it. While I tried the Cuban sandwich, the empanada stole my heart. However, my son in law can't wait to return for another pressed Cuban sandwich! So happy it's close by!

I love this place!!! A hidden gem in a gas station parking lot. Authentic cuban food with really inexpensive prices. The perfect combo. The $5 BREAKFAST is great- Eggs, toasted cuban bread, bacon and a small cuban coffee. What more could you ask for?! For LUNCH... the $5 #10 Pan Con Lechon Sandwich is where it's at. The Pork is super juicy and flavorful, not at all dry and comes with sweet onions pressed on cuban bread. With a $2 side of Maduros (sweet plantains) you are set up for success. The food is always ready in 10-15 mins for pickup, and they take cash and credit. Please support this local business and order yourself some amazing food!!!!

Exterior. Normal Sunday afternoon vibe. You can order via the window on the left side of the doors or walk inside.

I have visited Cuban Window Cafe a couple of times, each time trying something different from their menu. All of the menu items are available all day, so it is a nice business to visit if you prefer a late breakfast or early dinner. The atmosphere is authentic, and it really does seem like you have stepped into a a slice of Little Havana in Miami. You can order via an outside window or walk inside if you prefer. The staff is very friendly and are more than helpful in explaining the menu items. The food is always hot and tasty. On my visits, the freshly prepared food is ready in ten minutes or less. All of the breakfast combos include Cuban toast and a small cup of Cafe con Leche. From the pressed sandwiches, daily specials and breakfast items, I have always been happy with the food I have received. If you prefer not to wait for your food, they have several grab-and-go items available. They include croquettes, empanadas and pastelito. Cuban Window Cafe is located two blocks from Forsyth Park, so it is very easy to find, and a welcome addition to the cuisine choices for Savannah.

Cuban food in Savannah?! Of course we had to visit. As a Miami transplant now living in New England, every time I see Cuban food anywhere I must stop by. Our trip to Savannah was no different. We stumbled upon this place and we just had to try them out. To our surprise, the food was quite delicious and truly authentic. If I had closed my eyes and you told me I was in Little Havana, I would've believed you. The taste of the food definitely transported me there. Although this restaurant is super casual -- I'd probably do takeout from here if I ever stop by again -- the food was amazing. The tostones were crispy and accompanied by the yummiest garlic sauce and the croqueta preparada (croquette sandwich) was SO delicious. The pastelitos were okay, not the best I've had but I'd still order them again. What this place needs, in my opinion, is more of a vibe inside. There was no music playing or much going on inside, so dining in almost felt a bit out of place and awkward. Come for the food, but don't expect much of an ambiance. But there's potential for that. They already have the all-pink flamingo theme going on, so I'm hoping to swing by one day in the future and find more of a lively scene. We paid $27 for a good amount of food for two people. Definitely not the cheapest for Cuban food, but just remember it's also not Miami.

There is a line - that's good and bad. Then there's the half hour wait once you've ordered. Is it worth it? Yes if if it's only say 15 mins. Otherwise come back some other time. The pressed Cuban came out piping hot. That combination of ham, cheese, lechon that's a little salty was excellent. Beef empanadas was juicy with a touch of sweetness - I like it. The chicken empanada was fine. The fresh pineapple juice is perfect not too sweet no hint of sourness. Let's not forget it's in a gas station. Tons of character and a really chill crew.

Welcome to Little Havanna in Savannah's chapter of Drives and Dives. This joint is located in a gas station. Color me happy or pink in this case with its bright interiors. The last time I had Ropa VIeja (Beef stew special) this good was in Miami. You can get a hot lunch for $8.50 with sides or rice, beans, and plantains. I also had the papas rellena, a potato fritter stuffed with meat. It was perfectly fried, so light, crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. They also offer pressed sandwiches. Cafe con leche, fresh to order, will probably take the longest if you choose to order one. As most of America is dining in, this place is perfect for take out, or a picnic in the park. It is three blocks from Forsyth Park. There is parking available if you choose to dine in at the counter. I look forward to having someone else cooking for me for a change. Most of the food is already prepared and kept warm on a steam table. If you are in a super rush the pastries (savory and sweet) are the way to go. Some minor items, the rice was slightly under cooked. The order counter is a bit cramped.

This was a delicious, charming experience. A small diner next to a gas station. With about 10 stools at high top window bar and also cook view. The employees were all upbeat and friendly.. Main thing... The food was so delicious. Choice of menu or entrees and sides from cafeteria style counter. Breakfast menu looks good. I'll be back

I've heard so much buzz about Cuban Window Cafe (CWC) recently on Yelp and beyond, so while running errands, I made a tiny detour to check it out! Located next to an El Cheapo gas station (next to the shop part of the gas station, but in the same lot as the shop and gas pumps if that makes sense?), places like CWC keep adding to the places that make me take a closer look at eateries located in gas stations now. - Eats - I was in between stops and needed something quick and on the run. I chose a box of finger foods like Croquettes and Empanadas and took some Guava Pastelitos for the kids to ease my mind of enjoying these foods without my little foodie munchkins and going home empty handed. *Croquette - Mashed potatoes and some kind of ground up meat (I tasted hot dog maybe?) I stopped listening to the lady after she said "fried mashed potatoes with ...." Whatever it was, I could have eaten ten of those. The meat and potatoes are completely mashed up smoothly together and it was fried to perfection (see pic for inside). Sadly, I only ordered one because for me, first visit is always the sampling phase. *Chicken Empanada - tightly packed with flavor and huge chunks of breast meat! The amazing thing was, the pocket of goodness didn't fall apart as I kept biting into it! The chicken had so much flavor and the shell wasn't soggy and kept its shape. The crusts have crimped edges to tell them apart from the beef ones. *Beef Empanada - Same as chicken, but with big chunks of ground beef and just as much flavor. The crusts have twisted edges to differentiate it from the chicken. *Not sure what they call it and I'll have to ask next time, but I'll just call it the "Awesome sauce". They included a small container of this creamy sauce packed with herbs with the savory items and my only complaint is, CWC, why didn't you include a TUB of this?! Not sure what it was supposed to go with but I dipped all the items in it until I was shamelessly licking the container clean inside the car, by myself, outside of the Target parking lot. *Guava Pastelitos - I've said this before and I'll say it again, the only time it's okay to be flakey is if you're a pastry and in this case, a Guava Pastelito. These delicious pillows of air with flakey layers and a perfect amount of guava jam/jelly spread consistently throughout on the bottom are just delightful (see pic for cross section). Having lived in Hawaii, I've tasted my fair share of guava food items, but this is probably the best guava food item I've tasted! As you bite down, the crispy thin layers come crashing down and burst all over your face and shirt. (If you're eating this on a date and and if this person isn't making the same mess next to you, it's time to move on....) Anyway, I should have bought more, because I basically had to beg my kids to give me a bite, but just the more reason to go back soon! The fried items still tasted pretty good by the time I got home, even though they had cooled. My kids only got around to the pastelitos the next day and they were still fresh! - Vibe - On the outside, their sign is pink and blue with Cuban flags and there are 2 pink flamingos marking the entrance, as if squawking for you to go inside. The open kitchen and order counter is on the left as soon as you open the door. The set up is bright pink and somple tables and chairs. The order counter had a lot of items on the buffet on display and I can't wait to go back and try a plate. - Service - The lady was super nice and answered all my questions. She made some great recommendations. - Parking - Handful of spaces but extra bonus points for having their own lot! - COVID Observations - * Paper menus were placed outside for you to look at before you enter. I really appreciated this because I really like to take my time and read menus front to back to explore ALL my options and I could do so outside while social distancing. * Staff were wearing masks. There are so many things I want to try like their Cafe con leche and Flan. I can't wait to go back and you shouldn't wait either! Stay safe, Friends!

Just wanna go ahead and give these guys 5 stars hands down. I love good cuban food and in Savannah it's hard to come by. Being from south Miami I love the old style cuban bakeries and delis where you can pop in for cafe con leche and a bag full of croquettes and be on your way. Ive missed that so much and now that we have it here in Savannah I'll be there often! These guys just opened up but we're already a hit when I went. The man running the show said they were from Miami and moved up to get away from the busy populated area while covid first happened. They were jumping in there and seemed to start with a bang. Everything I got was phenomenal and reminded me of Homestead. Empanadas were to die for. Can't wait to come back and try more of their menu, especially the sandwiches and plates! Good work here!!

The amazing woman at the counter that was a master multitasker.

From the outside, this place might look like one of those hole in the wall places that you would not give a second thought to, but you are missing out. The service was fantastic and friendly. The food was tasty and the portions were huge. I got a beef empanada that was delicious. I also had a Pan con Bistec de Pollo sandwich (which is basically a grilled chicken sandwich on this amazing bread.) The pineapple juice was delicious. The staff was friendly and the woman working the counter was absolutely impressive. She was fabulous at multitasking and taking orders, filling orders, and communicating with the rest of her coworkers. You could tell they respect each other and that love goes in the food. I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu.

I got the bowl with everything, off yellow rice and black beans ( NO RICE AND GONDULES, not made here) roasted pork, salad and avocado and corn ( which I didn't want but was added, even though it was told...‍). Good thing I don't have an allergy to corn. Very nice girl at the counter but i guess was distracted. Although it's a nice size bowl which I couldn't finish in one sitting, I was disappointed with the pork. Yes it should be tender like pulled pork but not mushy. Not only that it could have used more flavor, in our culture we love to use numerous spices. Our food is definitely not bland. All I can think is that maybe at one time in the beginning the food was on point and over time it's lacking. The dining area is a nice size for eating indoors and they share the space with a Bolivian establishment which serves meat Pattie's and fresh juice drinks. The food is mediocre and not an option for me. I will continue my hunt for some Spanish food that will please my palette.
