Jerk chicken lunch
Amber P.

Great for lunch! It was fast, fresh food with big flavors! I got the jerk special for lunch. We were in and out pretty fast. Great price point.

The excellent smell hit us as soon as we walked in. Started with the Pomegranate Patron Margarita and ordered the Churrasco Steak for the main course. The margarita was really good. Most of us ordered the churrasco steak, we asked if it could be cooked medium. The steak was good but it was all cooked well done. I would say it was still moist with a good char. The shrimp was cooked fine but did not have any char and relied on the flavor of the steak otherwise the shrimp would have been bland. I ordered the fired sweet plantains and congri rice. Those were the stars of the day. The plantains were perfectly charred and had the good classic flavor. The congri rice was outstanding. It was black rice with black beans, soo good. The service was fast and super friendly. Joseph was our server for a big party and he did a phenomenal job. Good meal, would recommend it.

Beef Empanadas

We stopped by for lunch, and I'm glad we did! It was bigger than expected when we got inside. They were pretty busy, but there wasn't a wait for a table. The service was fast, and we got our food pretty quick too. Their ground beef empanadas came out hot, beautifully fried and the meat wasn't dried out like some places I've had. It was flavorful and filling. Definitely recommend getting some to start with or as a plate (with rice and beans) if you aren't super hungry. The curry chicken was creamy, and while jerk chicken was listed as being spicy, it most definitely wasn't. Between them both, I found curry chicken to be more enjoyable since the chicken wasn't as dry and tastier. The rice, beans, yuca, sweet plantains, and tostones were all good. I usually prefer black beans, but their red beans tasted better in my opinion. All of their sandwich options seem solid, and if I lived nearby, I would absolutely try each one. The pan con bistec was filling, adding fries is not necessary, but I like fries in general, so I found it worth it. The bread used for sandwiches is also given at the beginning with a green sauce to eat it with. I believe one is spicier than the other though the flavor overall is mostly the same. Not that any of the food needed additional flavor, it was nice to have when I want one bite to taste a little extra. My biggest regret: not buying a bottle of their Francesca sauce (green sauce). It added a nice citrusy, salty flavor and brought a bit of spice to the food. It's a very versatile sauce. I will be back for it and their empanadas.

Half Cubano with yellow rice, red beans & hot green sauce!

It has been a long time since I have come here for a Cubano sandwich. I remember them being very good, but I forgot just how good they actually are! I ordered a half cubano with yellow rice & red beans for lunch. I called it in and they had it ready in about 10 mins. I will say the prices on the menu that I looked at on Yelp is no longer accurate, but that is not the restaurants fault. It said a half cubano with rice and beans was $7.99 and I thought that was an amazing deal! Well, as it turns out that menu is VERY outdated. This lunch was about $12, but worth every single penny. I opened up my to-go container and thought I will definitely eat all of the sandwich, but I'll probably stop short on the rice and beans because it was a decent amount of food and I didn't want to be too full. I was soooo wrong, I just kept eating the rice and beans until they were gone. Very delicious and very full of flavor. The "hot" green sauce is phenomenal! I ended up putting some of that on top of my rice. I would put this sauce on just about anything. The sandwich was perfect, the pork was juicy and tender, the ham and the pickles were present in each bite and the bread was exactly what Cuban bread should be for this sandwich. I'll be back for sure!

Great friendly restaurant. Awesome waiters and owner, awesome food, what else can you ask for? Ordered the curry chicken, pork lunch special, empanadas, fries, everything was cooked well, seasoned well, tender and delicious. We will definitely be back when we visit the area again!

Entrance from parking lot.

The atmosphere was good, the service and the food were all "Top Shelf" quality!!! We will definitely be back. This made twice and they do not disappoint :) http://cubanislandcafe.com/tablet/index.html

Cuban sandwich with amazing sauce!

Like, what kind of devil's nectar is that green sauce that came with my Cuban sandwich? It was OUT OF THIS WORLD! I know it definitely has peppers because that thing came with some HEAT, and is either mayo or oil based, but what else? Amazing sauce aside, the sandwich came out incredibly fast despite it being during the lunch rush. Can't wait to try other items on my next visit! 。^‿^。

Amazing, filling and thankful for a authentic place like this here. The Rojo vieja was delicious! The tostones were good, missing a dipping sauce with it, but very good. Service was good, comfortable place to enjoy some good drinks. The tres leches was so good.

Food was amazing! Very flavorful! Clean inside. Fast and friendly service. If you're ever in the area definitely stop by!

From the moment we walked in, the vibe felt like a cozy cabin retreat with rustic accents. It was clear that a lot of intentional thought went into designing this space, it's one of those cafés where you keep noticing little details the longer you're inside. Merch is everywhere in a very on-brand way. Immediately to the right, there are T-shirts, mugs, and other coffee-related items for sale, including ground coffee beans. Just about everything is branded with the café's name. Personally, I'm not sure I'd wear a hat or T-shirt with a restaurant's name unless I worked there, but I can see how fans of the brand would enjoy it. Seating options are plentiful and varied, which I really appreciated. You can sit inside, on the rooftop, or on the outside patio. According to their website, they also rent out the Legacy Room, rooftop, fire pit in the rear, or even the entire house, with pricing clearly listed. They also host monthly events, which makes this spot feel very community-oriented. While it wasn't super crowded when we arrived, the chatter was lively and created a nice, welcoming energy. The staff matched that vibe, friendly, warm, and attentive from the start. The menu offers a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and smoothies, along with breakfast, lunch, and a custom brunch menu on Sundays. I would love to see more vegetarian options added to the menu, though. That said, there was a solid pastry selection, including several vegan and gluten-free options, which was nice to see. I ordered one of the January specials, the White Mocha Valencia Latte, and my husband went with an Americano. Drinks are available in 12oz, 16oz, and 20oz sizes. We also ordered the Flatbread. The online menu listed mushrooms as an optional topping, but they didn't have any available, so I opted for no toppings. We decided to eat the flatbread there, and a very amicable young lady brought it out to our table. I really appreciated that the staff took the time to double-check with the kitchen before saying no to anything. I asked if they had crushed red peppers for the very cheesy flatbread, and after checking, she let me know they didn't. My latte was enjoyable, well balanced and sweet without being overbearing. The flatbread was just okay for me. I wasn't a fan of the marinara, and I think crushed red peppers would have helped elevate the flavor had they been available. Overall, we enjoyed our time at Woodlands. The space was clean, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was ideal for writing, reading, or catching up with friends over coffee. It's definitely a thoughtfully designed café with a lot of potential, and I'm glad we finally made it in.

The first time, we came on a weekday and stood in the lobby for about 5-10 minutes before someone who appeared to be the owner told us they weren't open. The second time, we came back on a Sunday, well after their posted opening time of 12 PM. The restaurant was completely dark and the doors were locked. After waiting another week, we tried one last time on a Saturday, assuming they'd definitely be open. Again, no luck. The shop was closed with a handwritten sign saying they might open at *1 PM "if everything is prepared." Consistency matters. If the business hours aren't reliable, it makes it really difficult for customers to support the shop.

I'm sure they have good stuff but they seemed like they were unprepared and didn't have stuff ready and also while I was leaving I heard them say they are done taking orders for the day , keep in mind they had just opened and took abt 3 orders including mine so idk what was going on with that but it was a waste of almost 10 dollars and. It honestly sucked but I'm sure they have good stuff js that the didn't have there shit together and weren't ready to start taking orders which usually u would assume that any place who serves drinks or food would have their stuff ready to get the day started but yeah

Although it's small and has only two tables, food is prepared once it's ordered, so it's really fresh! Best thing here was the tandoori half portion that we ordered. It was flavorful and the salad underneath had a nice crunch and made the meal more refreshing. I would get it again if I were to return. The curries, green chicken saagwala and bhuna murgh masala, were spiced but not spicy. We would've enjoyed them more had they been spicy, and I expected the bhuna murgh to be because it said hot & spicy, but it wasn't. The small garlic naan we ordered were alright. They tasted good and were indeed small, yet for some reason the middle was dry and crunchy while the outer was soft and fluffy. We got takeout, and I just wish we got the samosas we ordered. We should've checked, but we didn't, and it was too late to really go back.
