The little shop was nicely decorated and has the largest collection of spreadable cheese knivesI have ever seen. We also bought a box of a variety of fudge slices, bridge mix, malted milk balls (my husbands fav and he said these were the best he has ever had). For me I could hardly get one in my mouth and they had a thick layer of chocolate. Good but not something I could just pop into my mouth like my husband can. We got a gift box of chocolates for a gift. My husband tried one chocolate off the shelf and said it was really good. So we are hoping our friend likes hers. I have been working my way through the creamy fudge. It is delicious and they have a large selection of flavors. I ate the bridge mix but for me it had too many of the big malted milk balls, which I gave to my husband. To be fair the bridge mix was almost out in the caseso I was getting the bottom of the barrel. I would have liked more raisins and other nuts. We plan on stopping back to try out some of the cheeses and getting a cheese/sausage gift box. Will give another review on the cheeses.

I have always been satisfied with their products and service. Chrlie's has a large variety of top quality cheese to choose from. Their deli sandwiches are made fresh to order with your choice of bread, deli meats, veggies and condiments. They don't skimp on the ingredients either -- their sandwiches make for substantial meal. The grocery department includes both staples and specialty items -- mostly at convenience store prices. Their ice cream is generic but acceptable and the scoops are always generous. For my daughter's wedding rehearsal night picnic we ordered pulled BBQ pork & hot turkey for sandwiches, potato salad, bean salad and a few other items from Charlie's catering kitchen. I'm not a fan of packing catered food to go in apparently reused cardboard ice cream cartons (because I'm not sure exactly how to clean and sanitize them after the ice cream is served) -- but everything tasted fine, all of our guests were satisfied, and I would definitely order from Charlie's catering kitchen again.

So glad I found this place...was scoping out a casual spot for s good sandwich and a beer and took the recommendation of a neighbor to try this new deli. I found a nice beer selection (a full bar as well) and a GREAT sandwich. I had the Italian Beef with hot giardiniera and it was as good or better than any beef sandwich I have ever eaten - and I ate at least one a week while living in Chicago! I took my wife, daughter and her boyfriend back later that week. We ordered more Italian Beef but also the House Smoked Pulled Pork and the Avocado/Egg Sandwich. Everyone raves about their orders. Chef Tom visited out table and even offered a few samples of his jerky and sausage sticks...yummy. We are now working our way through the rest of the menu! We'll be back whenever we are in town. read more

Best lunch spot in town. You will find actual chefs here putting together a standard menu plus a creative variation of culinary delights. They have special events like cooking classes, wine pairings, small plates, and sushi night. You won't find food like this anywhere else in the northwoods. I have eaten here around 100 times trying many different things. It's just all varying degrees of good food. Try the great northern haddock sandwich, the grilled cheese of the week, or any of the fantastic specials. Dustin operates Butcher Shop Bake Co. inside the restaurant as well for the most amazing giant cookies you will find anywhere. read more

Had a couple impressive sandwiches today. I really enjoyed the brisket sandwich and the pulled pork Cuban was excellent as well. Being the first in the area to have the new commercial Stella Artois draft machine was a great surprise. I can see where some in the area may think it's over priced, but truth be told some people aren't used to having sandwiches that are truly made from scratch. It's a craft!
