The Chef used to be at Holiday Acres and their food is or was excellent. CT Deli is his dream and has been open for a couple of years now. Never been disappointed with their food. I like the fact you go up and order your food, give your name and find a place to sit. During the summer months you can sit outside and bring your dog (on leash). Excellent salads too. When your name is called you go up and get your food and chow down. I love their tuna sandwich, their pulled pork, tried their avocado/egg salad sandwich (great). Great place for lunch. Very nice decor, good service and great smoky flavored food: I had the salmon pita and will be craving this in the future. It was nice to have the option of sitting in the beer garden out back. This space could be really nice but needs some work. Get rid of the rocks, extend the pavers and cover the unsightly areas. One of the better sandwich shops in town. It's hard to get that true Texas brisket flavor, but they come as close as anywhere North of the Mason Dixie gets. Their bar is stocked with good scotch. This is my first time visiting and I am glad that I came. A great selection of sandwiches and sides. Very warm and friendly staff from the moment I walked in. The chef gave me a welcoming greeting. Sandwich was delicious and exactly what I expected. The WiFi is fast and free. I dined alone midday and felt comfortable doing so. In 2 words, overpriced Meh. "Smoked" Brisket sandwich was dry and had the mildest smoke flavor I've ever tasted in a brisket. Could barely tell it was smoked, no bark whatsoever. Tailgator soup wasn't bad but much like most items on the menu, I found it wanting. Italian beef was tolerable, won't have to worry about any heartburn for sure. IMHO, the bread they serve their sandwiches on was the best part. Pretentious dining at its finest (for the Northwoods anyway). read more

Fantastic deli, high quality meats and cheeses. Not sure how many or what soups they make throughout the week (wish they were on the menu) but have had a couple different ones on days I walked in and absolutely loved them. Staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed and overall everything is neat and clean including restroom. They do a 1/2 sandwich 1/2 soup special. I ordered the "Tailgater soup" and 1/2 Italan sandwich with smoked gouda. The soup is made with beer, cheese, brats, onion and pretzel. It was AMAZING, sandwich was an absolute thumbs up at well. Stopped for lunch based on Yelp reviews. A little disappointed. I had an Italian Bomber sandwich. Pretty much just a salami sub sandwich with little in the way of anything to moisten it. Comes without any sides. Wrapped in paper for $9.95. My wife had the salad with apples and turkey etc. It was big but the turkey appeared to be just deli turkey lunch meat dumped on top. All with a balsamic dressing. Our friend had a gyro sandwich that tasted good but was too soggy to pick up because the cucumber dressing was thin and appeared to be applied to the pita first which made it very wet. Again, just wrapped in paper and foil without sides or utensils. read more

They've done great things with the former Elbo Room bar's space in DownTown Rhinelander. And, they've managed to pull off combining a tavern with a deli...definitely get the vibe of both, plus family friendly. The Bloody Mary's are great as are the pulled pork and the cuban sandwiches. The staff is knowledgeable and it's obvious they care. The care is obvious in the food and presentation as well. It's been a year since I went to this place and I can't get it out of my head. The best deli I've ever been to, and CERTAINLY the best meal I've purchased for under 10$. Great place. Wonderful sandwiches, I had the very tasty brisket and my wife had the equally great beef and cheese. She also really enjoyed the cheese soup. We will be coming back and recommending it to friends. The staff was very friendly, including the head chef, who stopped by our table and spoke with my wife about the variety of olive oils the sell. My wife ended up tasting a few and purchased two to bring home. We also loved the way the set the place up. They did a great job of making the place unique, appealing and inviting. Decor is awesome!!! Food is good but you do not get much for the money. A $9.50 sandwich is just that. It's a 6 or 7 inch sandwich without sides. Sides and a drink are extra. $30 for two sandwiches and two soft drinks at lunch is a little high. Owner is on the obnoxious side. Very loud and cocky. We will probably not be back :( read more

This place hits the mark on all sides.. don't be deterred by the few foodie wanna be reviews decrying the lack of profile in their sandwich, that it was served wrapped in paper, or that it cost $9.00. A frickin tuna sandwich combo meal at Subway costs $11 these days. CT's prepares all their own meats in house and uses premium ingredients versus the Sysco prefab menu. Take it from a Chicagoian (I don't like to play that card) that CT has perfected his Italian beef to rival those found on Grand Ave or Taylor Street so if it doesn't play in Monico, the world will get over it. The rest of the cured meat sandwiches follow suit. I could go on and on, but if your hungry for a good lunch and not still holding on to your communion money or looking to judge a place by the lace curtains in the windows, stop on by, I'm sure you'll agree with me and be happy you did. read more

This is the best deli/restaurant I have ever visited. The meat is so flavourful and juicy, it's hard to even put down the mac and cheese. The outside renovation added a whole new level to this experience. By far the best smoked brisket I have had in a while. Every time I am up in the area me and my family stop here to get a bite.
