First time here so wasn't sure what to expect. You ordered from the Counter and grab a table and they call your name. My southern comfort old fashion was wonderful. The Reuben sandwich was absolutely delicious. My friend got the chicken Panini and she loved it. Typical small dark busy Wisconsin bar with excellent food. I will definitely be back. read more

Used to love stopping here on r way North ...coming back with friends several times in years past. Great food. Friendly staff Stopped in for first time this year. Sat at bar where TWO bartenders never "saw" us per one of same bartender who eventually took r order at walk up counter??? Then to make matters worse. R $13 Airport sandwich (aka sandwich wrapped up so tight and obviously made days before) was not worth r time. Once a favorite stop but not anymore unless u like airport food and "service". read more

This is a place I have made a point to visit any time I'm in the area. The drinks and food are great. You can't go wrong with the grilled Italiano, trifecta, pulled pork, Italian beef, grilled cubano, or salmon club. I've tried and can recommend each. The soup is great and the "salmon candy" is excellent. The poke bowls are surprisingly good. The place has a nice sized bar with plenty of bar seating, a handful of tables inside, and a bunch outside (both covered and uncovered). The staff is courteous and helpful. The food is pretty quick. read more

More like a 4.6 -Ordering is a little confusing - but the food is so fantastic we've been here a couple times they have a unusual options with smoked meat sandwiches and a poke bar - I would say the place feels more like a hipster coffee shop than a smokehouse deli but not on a bad way. The seating is varied but you can find someplace comfy to sit. Pictures of sone famous rock stars line the walls which is fun to look at while you wait. read more

First time there and the place was clean and kinda neat. Plenty to look at. It only took 5 minutes to get our food. So they had all that going for them. They smoke their own meats. Average at best. I'm a BBQer myself and know what to expect. I thought the meat only had a very light hint of smoke. Almost like they use liquid smoke to have that hint of smoke flavor. Brisket was over done and they tried to hide it in liquid. Otherwise it tasted OK. We order the food at the bar, pick it up down the way when they call your name. We cleaned up after ourselves too. It's one of those places were you do their work for them. read more

So, as a first time customer, I was a bit confused when I walked in. It was obvious that CT's was not a "sit down" establishment, but it was equally ambiguous about how to proceed. Fortunately the cashier immediately recognized our confusion and inquired, "Is this your first time here?" And then quickly, but clearly, she explained their system which included placing your order with her and then picking it up at one of their prep stations, or selecting something from their readymade options and then returning to pay at the cashier's counter. Now that I know how it works, our next visit will be a breeze. We were looking for a light lunch so I decided to go with a freshly prepared sandwich - an avocado egg salad sandwich on toasted whole wheat. It was really green - which might not be the most appetizing color for an egg salad - but the balance of egg, avocado and herbs (including cilantro) was just right. The salad was creamy and well seasoned. The bread was under-toasted - I like to see some nice golden-brown on the surface and not just a toasted texture on a slice of bread. My dining companion took a readymade Italian sandwich which he enjoyed. While it skewed generic, it was obviously prepared the day it was sold. All in all we were satisfied with our lunch. Now that I know their system, I'm anxious to return to try the rest of their menu. While my initial rating is "average," that could easily go up. Especially because we don't have many classic deli options in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. BTW - the deli restaurant is integrated with a full service bar which is accessible through a portal into the next door building. I'll have to check that out later. read more

This place is absolutely phenomenal all around. The food is some of the best I've ever had, the indoor eating area and patio are great, and love the grab and go store also. The staff is delightful and we visit this place every year we come to Rhinelander. I cannot express how good everything is prepared. This Rachel is in my top spot for these sandwiches and I would eat it daily if I could. Do not forget a side of this magnificent mac and cheese that pairs well with anything. Enjoy!! read more

Funky, eclectic decor in both the bar and its companion-next-door deli. The hot sandwiches were excellent but the self-service style of operation seems poorly implemented and unnecessarily chaotic...customers milling about, unsure where to stand or what to do next while either trying to order or trying to receive what has been prepared. read more

If you don't like CT's Deli, either you've hit a REALLY bad day or there is something wrong with you. Pastrami is some of the best you'll find, not thin sliced like NYC but some chunks and you can taste the amazing bark. Wow. You can order at a couple different locations, or just sit at the bar in Wisconsin style and have a drink (or some...) while you wait. The turkey sandwich is also amazing, and pretty much everything here will bring me back. There's arguably a bit of a "Hipster" vibe, but CT's Deli is one of the best - probably THE best - dining option in downtown Rhinelander if you appreciate an amazing sandwich. Bravo! read more

The hot pastrami sandwich from this deli just went on my "best things ever eaten" list. Wow, is it fantastic, smoked chunks of spicy pastrami with mustard on marble rye bread. Got their beans as a side and those were amazing too with lots of bacon and flavor. My husband got the Mac and cheese, also outstanding. This place is a must stop if you're in Rhinelander. read more

Great spot for a tasty, casual lunch in downtown Rhinelander. CT's is a lot bigger than it might look from the outside - there's a full bar area, a casual deli counter, bakery and a nice amount of seating. In terms of food, they have tons of sandwich options (hot and cold), three soups including a bratwurst cheese, and a good number of salads. The mister went for a brisket sandwich and I had an excellent Italian beef with nice spicy giardinera. Prices are reasonable, food comes up quickly (you order at a counter and they call your name) and if you want a Caesar salad with a shot of Fireball you can sit in the bar and do just that. As a bonus, they actually were enforcing mask compliance - something that seems scarce in these parts. read more

Highly recommend this for anyone in or around Rhinelander. Yum! read more

We have loved CTs since we started going and still love it now after the renovations. Outstanding service, outstanding drinks, delectable and amazing food. Chef Tom will always say hello and ask you how you are doing. The rest of the staff are very friendly even while they are busy. The new interior is beautiful and much more open. There are two different order spots. The outside patio area is beautiful and dog friendly ! Bloody Mary's are delicious. If you want a meal then order the lunch box bloody! Divine !!!!!! Perfect spot for a delicious lunch while exploring downtown Rhinelander. We were on vacation so also had a refreshing beer and cider to compliment our lunch. Great selection on subs. We come from PNW, and for small town feel with a big town taste, it truly compares with those out West.

The sandwiches that my friends and I ordered were very good. Service at the check out counter was polite and helpful. I'd give this restaurant 5 stars were it not for the cook handing out the orders who was extremely rude. read more

Let me start with you must read the signs as you enter. Luckily for me, I read everything. When you walk in, follow the signs to order at the bar. Everyone seemed ok. I ordered a double of jack Daniels and coke along with a sandwich and a side of mac n cheese. I wasn't really looking forward to eating a sandwich but I'm not from the area and the five stars is what brought me here. I was originally across the street at another restaurant and they couldn't even give a menu while serving everyone food around me, that's what also led me here. But then it seems the locals know something I don't. I didn't see no wings on the menu! I would've gladly ordered some wings. I probably would've ordered extra wings because I was so hungry. The sandwich was ok. But my issue was that they never brought me no napkins at all, not even utensils. What was I supposed to do? Eat the Mac n cheese with my hands? I don't even live here so there's no Utensils at the hotel. But I shouldn't have to rely on the hotel to get utensils. But I sure did walk to my car and ate the Mac n cheese with my hands like a whole cave man. While others around me had napkins, I couldn't see if they had utensils. If not, they would've got five starts from me. But yet I'm a better man than them, because tho the waiter didn't deserve it, I still gave her 15% tip. Because I'm different. But I would t come back at all. read more
