Let me start out by saying that I am a registered nurse working in home care so I know what quality care and case management looks like. Meredith, the owner of this company, was my beloved grandmother's private case manager towards the end of her life. I suggested my dad hire a private case manager as her dementia was getting worse and my dad was having a hard time coping and managing her medical and emotional needs. Meredith coordinated doctors appointments, coached my dad through dealing with dementia, helped arrange for and provide caregivers, and offered moral and emotional support and guidance for my grandmother and the whole family. My grandmother passed away peacefully at home, and I don't think it would have gone as well as it did without the help and support of Meredith and her team. Meredith was very patient with my grandmother who was wary of new people and afraid of relinquishing control as her dementia progressed. Mom loves her CSS caregiver, Judy. Dad at 91 had his hands full caring for Mom, 90, at home. Once Judy came for 4 hours 5 days a week, both Mom and Dad looked and felt better. Mom felt she had the ideal daughter and Dad was free to rest or enjoy other activities. After a few months, Mom's needs grew and senior assisted living was the alternative. Judy remained as Mom's companion for 2 weeks there before a tearful parting. As is standard in the industry (we learned this from friends in other states) it is important to use CSS's deep bench of care providers to find the particular aides who fit your family needs and disposition. Always ask for new options if any once care provider is not a good fit. Jill Dellich and particularly Alexis and other members of the management team are rapid and effective in response. Adminstrators and care providers were kind and precessional. They were flexible and worked with us to find providers who we and parents comfortable with. I fired another care provider and hired CSS to take their place. What a wonderful find CSS is. Their management and billing are ultra professional and responsive. And importantly the CSS HQ is on Grand Ave in Oakland; so they are easy to contact. They have a gerontologist who makes regular house calls on the memory facility to check up on my wife and the CSS care givers assigned to her to ensure the match is sound. And the three CSS care givers assigned to cover my wife 10/7 are kind, alert, and caring...often helping above and beyond the expected.
