Parking can be difficult as it's public street parking with a two hour limit resulting in many trips to move our cars. Don't believe any one star reviews without clear examples of mistreatment while slandering staff. Crazy tirades on Yelp are not helpful.

Oh and for this, had to pay out of pocket $200/day and even for the full day despite being transferred home by 8 AM. When confronted, the staff and administrator was defensive and reluctantly helpful getting belongings and meds back- we had to make several trips back there.

Still the family wasn't 100% Mom would receive enough care at home but she insisted on going home to pass. The hospital (UCSF) seemed to be a hurry to discharge Mom because it was Friday but I insisted on all equipment and people be in place before she's discharged. It was a rush, but HBTB understood and we worked to get everything ready. The admission nurse probably spent 3 hours at the house helping get the room ready. All of the people we worked with - nurses, social workers, etc. spent time to answer all our questions and make sure Mom was as comfortable as possible. One issue is that if any supplies are needed they take a couple of days to come. In the meantime you're on your own. Overall they did a very good job and it was clear they really cared about their patients. Pro tip: Always, always take charge of your health care. Don't let anyone - hospitals, doctors, insurance talk you into something you're not comfortable with.

When my dad passed at 2:45am, the hospital operator left one voicemail for my mom. If they looked at demographics on hospital side of charting, they would have seen to call me first as I am the Durable Power of Attorney. Family listened to voicemail at 0600am and rushed to UCSF hospital. My dad was already taken to the morgue. Apparently, they needed his ICU bed. We had stressed to the bedside nurses to call us for any reason. The nurses failed to call us. The ICU doctor failed to call us. Per By the Bay Health, the nurses followed protocol to alert Hospice team when passing. When we called the 800 number, they had no record of my dad. When we tried to sign up for grief counseling--same reply, no record of my dad. Stay away from Hospice, they have no heart and are incredibly disorganized. My dad became very sick very suddenly and we needed to spend the last moments with him, his body, on earth before being taken away. We were robbed of this moment. Funeral home charges $195 to view body when delivered to funeral home just fyi. STAY AWAY from BY THE BAY HEALTH HOSPICE CARE. They are criminals and liars.

Illynne Lammer RN, the director of the hospice, made sure my grandmother would have all of the medication and equipment necessary for home assistance. Dian Lopez MSW, a social worker, was able to guide me through paperwork required from the family. All in all, I have had a great experience with these two professional staff as they acknowledged my grandma's critical condition and immediately assigned nurses for 24 hour care. This included checking on my grandma every hour to make sure she felt as comfortable as she could be. Through this experience, I can see that "Crossroads Home Health & Hospice" is professional, and that they genuinely care about their patients. My sister was in an assisted nursing care facility for 6 months, and the thought of her continuing to reside in a similar environment was heartbreaking. While there, the numerous and almost monthly visits to the ER due to UTIs, inadequate doctor and care oversite, lack of consistent and timely drug and therapy services was truly unacceptable for her health. My sister is now living with my family in our home, and CrossRoads has allowed us to find an alternative path to her care along with using other support teams. From CrossRoads, we received scheduled physical, occupational and nursing services. Their exceptional services have allowed my sister to remain in a home environment and us to build a secure loving environment for her long-term care. I have used other home care services, and would consistently request for CrossRoads services. Her medical needs are addressed by a caring, effective, reliable, proactive and incredible staff at CrossRoads. I could not have asked for a better team to help with this unprecedented emotional and physical challenge my family has undertaken. When my sister arrived at our home, Sabrina, Occupational Therapist, immediately identified tools, equipment and recommendations that provided additional comfort to my sister and to our family and support caregivers in mitigating our physical demands. She was incredibly efficient and facilitated accommodating our needs immediately with her experience and resources. I feel our sister received the best care from Sabrina and CrossRoads in tailoring our home as effectively as possible in maximizing my sister's care. Equally important as the effective direct skills of the CrossRoads staff, is the intangible support they provide my sister and to us. I give this program five stars because of the nurse who came to my house. Her name is Emily Skaff and she is so terrific. The way she talks and explains things is so soothing and she just seems like a person who genuinely enjoys what she does. She had such a gentle nature both my husband and myself really enjoyed talking with her. As first time parents, we don't know much so we asked a bunch of questions. She answered them all. She offered to check out my stitches but I said it's ok. So the home nurses do everything: physical assessment of baby and mom, and wound care for episiotomy if you want. For nurse Emily, I give her five stars on her home visit. It cost $290, by the way. If you get her to do your home visit, you are lucky! She was here for about an hour. She brought a lot of stuff and also a scale to weigh the baby. She cleaned everything off with antibacterial gel afterward. I think Emily is wonderful.

The staff changes all the time and they don't communicate with each other. They let my dad run out of supplies and left him in the wrong set up over the weekend. There have been several other serious issues that I won't detail in this review. If you have any other option, use that instead of Sutter.

While a few staff seem compassionate and want to provide care, the overall atmosphere feels inconsistent and dismissive of legitimate concerns. Families should look very closely at how care plans are followed, how staff respond to resident limitations, and how complaints are actually handled. Proceed with caution at this facility.
