Some of their people are tardy, they do not cook or do any real housework. They do minor cleanup only. They accept extra cash from my parents which they are not supposed to do. The caregivers overcharge my parents for Uber rides. When we called to talk with Rose about these problems, she said she would take care of it. Instead she told the caregivers we'd told on them and the caregivers told our parents who got mad at us. The cash and extra checks continue to flow directly into the care givers hands. We think that some may be grocery money but we don't think that the $1-3K per month cash and checks being given to the caregivers directly is entirely legitimate. One of the caregivers has completely manipulated our mother to gain her trust so that our mother considers her another daughter. She consistently arrives late and often leaves early but claims a full day's work. She is always sweet but manipulative. The caregiver who is supposed to watch our dad and make sure he doesn't fall does not. Every time I've visited I've caught him going up and down stairs by himself with no caregiver in sight and had to admonish his caregiver. Granted he doesn't want someone around but it is her job to stick with him. These people are manipulative and greedy. They have taken advantage of our elderly trusting parents who are easily manipulated because of their age-related cognitive problems and total lack of short term memory. They do not properly supervise their workers because they just want the large checks my mother is writing them. Note the negative reviews from other clients from the closed San Leandro office. These are the same people, they just relocated to Castro Valley.

Three days prior to leaving for a week long vacation, my Mom started having some health issues and…read moreended up in ER. It quickly became obvious that I was going to need full-time in-home care for her during my absence. That evening, I made a phone call to Visiting Angels of Livermore. They offered to provide a full no-commitment assessment, and I accepted. The next day, Mr. Keith Beck, Executive Director, came to my home and evaluated Mom's situation and needs. Mr. Beck was on-time, professional, organized and efficient. Following the assessment, we were introduced to a recommended caregiver who, assuming my approval, would be responsible for Mom. She was professional, very conversational with Mom and an experienced caregiver. By the end of the appointments, I was confident that Mom would have good, comforting care while I was gone. I was extremely impressed that Visiting Angels responded so quickly, and was also able to provide and dedicate quality staff in a timely manner. I continued the caregiving services on a part-time basis after I returned home as Mom was still not quite stable. Another caregiver was introduced and assigned. After a couple of weeks of continued part-time care, Mom became much better and I was comfortable with stopping the services. I highly recommend Visiting Angels of Livermore. All of my experiences (and my Mom's) were positive. It is a very well managed business with a reliable, kind, and supportive team: owner, office staff, and caregivers. She made me feel very comfortable right away and gave top quality care. I felt immediate relief after she worked on my neck and gave me exercises to work on. At this point, I have seen so many physical therapists throughout my life and Gina is quite competent. Substantial progress was made each visit and I would leave visits feeling refreshed and pain free. Meanwhile, at other places, I would be in pain for several months before seeing any progress. After seeing Gina for a month and a half, I was 90% recovered and after three months, I feel so refreshed and able to do all my regular exercise routines and activities.
