They allow their Covid patients to roam the hall freely, and for residents of the 2nd Floor who have been exposed, to come into the general population. Unmasked. Recently, Ivy Park asked residents to post positive remarks so we could get more people and their rent wouldn't be raised as much. So the good reviews you're reading are those nice people who decided to do a nice thing for Ivy Park. We have a new cook, and we have inadequate protein in our diet and most of our vegetables are canned. Staffing is very bad and supplemented by agency who do not know the patients. The comments about Joseph were right he was wonderful. He was strongly advocating for our needs and we believe that's why he was fired without notice. We also had a great chef and good food with good nutrition and fresh foods. He was fired too.

Really? AGAIN? Ivy Park (owned by Oakmont) is going to remove all my reviews a THIRD time because…read moreI put links to corporate websites and phone numbers??? That says a LOT. Luckily I save all of this. Big corporations trying to hide what they do is not good. This might make a really good news story. I think our local state representative and senator might be really interested in this. You want me to change my review? Do what Joseph did and improve everything, or better yet, fire the upper corporate staff, bring him, back, and use corporate salaries to pay caretakers more to provide the best care for such fragile people in memory care. Then I will change my reviews, as I did after Joseph came on and AFTER he fulfilled his promises to staff more. This place was a mess a year ago June when we moved my mom into memory care. Joseph Valenzuela came in in the summer and had to deal with a lot of angry residents and family and did it in the kindest, most graceful way. He worked to get staff morale up with more staffing and better pay. We had monthly meetings for the memory care floor where he kept family's apprised. He got staffing up and asked for more. Kept asking for amendments on pay screw ups and more staffing that were approved, and then backed out of that he kept telling us about. After he improved residency from 40 something to 60 something %, I changed my review to a 5 star, because the facility and staff are great and you need enough good, happy staff to take the best care of people. It's the corporate management that is the issue. On July 27, 2026 he was walked out of the building with no notice, and a very inappropriate letter to everyone from corporate. We know why--he demanded the regional director do his job and allow him to get the pay amendments and hire more people that had already been approved of and asked for, but were repeatedly walked back, ignored, etc. We know this because he showed us the repeated requests. I was lied to by the regional director and and the senior VP of operations saying they never got anything about this and Joseph never talked to them about this. With each yelp review, suddenly all of the things Joseph has been asking for, are being "worked on." Hiring is happening. Some minimal wage increases. But we do NOT trust Ivy Park corporate. We want Joseph back, whom we all trusted to make sure our led ones have enough staff to take care of them and check on them. 9/8 No improvements as promised. Temporary ED rarely here, sometimes regional director. Hiring fair a big bust because, despite many applications, most turned it down because they are paying less than next door. Increased staffing on second floor promised not happening. Even the washing machine for the 2nd floor ordered in JULY is not here yet.

My aunt and uncle are residents there and are treated like family by the staff, who know my aunt and uncle's quirks, moods, preferences, needs-- including the setting up of my aunt/uncle's weekly Zoom bible study. Staff gracefully indulge my aunt, who has a rather demanding personality at times. (I wish I were as patient as they are with her!) Unlike many other nursing homes, Oak Creek staff seemed to love their work, which they perform as a true vocation. The building sits under a canopy of trees, nestled against a forested hillside. Residents have access to a large patio area with a garden, an aviary with cooing mourning doves, and chickens, with many seating areas. The entranceway is always decorated very festively according to season, giving it a cheerful ambiance. Art, music, movies, meditation, crafts, exercise, and many other activities fill the day. My only complaint is that I would love to live there myself and be pampered as beautifully as my aunt and uncle are!

It is all about ensuring the best quality of life possible for their residents. There is constantly fun happy activities happening. When you first visit you get the feeling of this quaint little community and then you enter and are amazed at how much space the residents have to roam around. I love the outdoor area! It is so spacious and sprawling with wonderful things to do such as the raised planter boxes. Oh and did I mention the chef uses the freshest produce that comes from their very own farm/ranch?! Probably the most impressive thing about Willow Creek is the staff. They truly care about their residents. The longevity of the staff is far greater than many other communities which provides the much needed stability that Memory care residents need to thrive. The cherry on top of all the goodness of Willow Creek is that the cost is among the most affordable in the Bay Area. If you are looking into Memory Care communities for a loved one, I definitely suggest you consider Willow Creek.

Before my mother, her mother lived there from 1992-1994. So, as you can see, my family has had a lot of experience with St. Regis. This is a difficult journey. I try to do the best for Mom, but it's really hard. Thank God for St. Regis & the dedicated staff that works there 24/7. They care for all the residents & their families. I know, if I have a problem, they will work with me to help solve it. Anyone who is dealing with Alzheimer's knows that there are always problems. I am grateful for all St. Regis does to keep her well cared for & safe. Without the help, guidance, & counsel of Shabbir Chinikamwala, Administrator, & Nisha, Supervisor, this would be a nightmare. They are are always gracious & calm. I don't know how they do it. I know that the women at the front desk are always cheerful & helpful. Many hands are at work here to ensure the smooth operation of St. Regis. I would be remiss not to mention & thank the maintenance men & the kitchen cooks & waitresses. Thank you all for all you do & have done in the past to make Mom's life as pleasant as possible. Laura It is now February 2020. Mom passed in December 2019. St. Regis is the reason I am not in a mental institution! Alzheimer's is a horrible disease. I watched her slowly shrink until there was mere skin & bones in the bed. She still smiled & told me she loved me. I think she said that to everybody but that's ok. She was pleasant, kind of happy & sweet which is a positive memory for me. I know the staff at St. Regis was the reason her last months were good or as good as possible in this situation. They provided for all her needs with respect & love. I liked Baywood Court the best because there is no expensive buy-in and the monthly rent is reasonable. From number 16 on the waiting list I was able to move in at mid-February. I have a one-bedroom apartment of 600 square feet facing the pool. It's between two exits so it's very convenient for my dog to go out for his business. Plus there is a half-mile trail inside the facility for his daily walk. I enjoy going through the Rose Garden and the Gazebo along many beautiful flowers and plants. Living at Baywood is like living in a hotel or a cruise ship. There is 24/7 lighting and air conditioning/heat throughout the building. I get weekly house-cleaning, change of bed linens and towels. I just leave my garbage at the door and all the packages I ordered are delivered to me . The two meals a day can be stretched to three because of the many options I can choose. In the one year I have been here, I have not cooked one meal for myself. No more driving to the gym. I just walk down the hall to my Tai Chi, Chair Yoga, and Zumba classes. We also have lots of performance by outside artists and regular health and informational meetings. Just this week we had Martini Monday, Coffee Social, and Tequila Thursday. You can play pool, jigsaw puzzles, Mahjong and many table games at the Game Room. There are also daily drive to shopping and regular visit to museums and scenic areas. Baywwod also has many group activities such as Sunday mass, Thursday Bible study, grief sharing, Spanish class, arts and crafts, movie and sports night, etc. I joined the Knit Wits to make projects for charity. I am the inventory manager and also volunteer as a cashier for our general store called The Cubby. The staff at every Department here are friendly and efficient. I love the community of other residents. The management does such a good job that I was pleasantly surprised when our rent did not go up for this year. I am so glad God provided me Baywood Court where I can live out the rest of my years feeling safe and secure.

(For context, a year ago my mother was at a different facility that I would definitely not consider again, plus I have toured several other places, talked to many people, and done lots of research.) Baywood SNF has the highest five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The nurses and doctors are amazing. Dedicated, knowledgeable, compassionate and always available to help my dad or answer our questions. I received regular updates in-person or over the phone. And importantly, they were always well-staffed and attentive - staffing ratios are important for patient care and to avoid staff burnout. Baywood is also clean and new, with beautiful landscaped grounds and good food. For a challenging time in our lives, I had such peace of mind that my dad was in good hands and well-taken care. I imagine we might need a skilled nursing facility again and I will only consider Baywood Court.

Our family is indebted to Sandra for helping us find an appropriate placement for our 80 year old…read moremother, who has advanced Alzheimer's dementia. Due to this and some other health issues, Mom needs a high level of care and we are paying out of pocket so our budget was tight, especially for the Bay Area, where care costs can easily exceed $8000 a month. When COVID hit, our mom's former facility ended all visitation in the name of safety for the residents. While we understood the need to do that, it came with consequences. Our mother was neglected by this facility, and as a result became gravely ill and nearly died of sepsis in early July. We knew we needed to find her a new place ASAP, but having been through that when we first placed her 7 years ago, we knew it was an arduous and overwhelming task. Through a series of fortuitous events I was given Sandra's name and contact information by the coordinator at Sunrise Senior Living in San Mateo. When I called her she was comforting and understanding, but you can tell this lady is a steel magnolia, and she gets shit done. She listened carefully to our wish list of needs for Mom, and said she knew of several possibilities that she thought could be a match. Even just hearing that we had options, was an enormous relief! With Sandra's help and guidance, we found a fabulous new care arrangement for Mom, that was within our budget, in four days. FOUR DAYS. If I were religious I would say it was a miracle, but I'm not so I credit Sandra's expertise and extensive network of resources and contacts. We visited Mom in her new facility a week ago and she is doing better than she has in years. We were astounded, because dementia patients are not known for reacting well to changes in their routine and moving to a new living situation is an enormous adjustment. In some cases it can take weeks for the person to settle in. Not so here. After about a week of confusion (night wandering, escape attempts) she settled in HARD. This was very apparent during our visit. Even though she lost her ability to speak due to the dementia, our mother's moods still come through loud and clear, and it's very easy for us to know when she is not happy or doesn't like someone/something. During our visit she was content, smiled a lot, and was extremely friendly with her new caregiver. For the first time in a while, our family has peace of mind and the certainty of knowing our mother is truly safe, in a good place, and that we have done right by her. We can never thank Sandra enough for her part in this outcome. You cannot go wrong by working with her, so if you have a family member in need, do not hesitate. Pick up that phone now and contact her. You will not be sorry.
