I got to know several of the caregivers personally as we cared for my father together: I especially treasured my father's time with Yvonne, Rihyana, Sebastien, and Kaye. All four of them were outstanding: deeply empathetic, and highly skilled. I also felt very comfortable leaving my father alone with Home Instead, as they were trustworthy, and even kept my father's apartment clean. I had a few concerns along the way, and the Home Instead administrators were responsive, and made all the changes I requested. Thank you for making a difficult time in our family's life a little less difficult and a little more joyful. Home Instead was everything I was hoping for in hospice caregiving.

It was communicated enough to stop the in-home care services, so it could have been communicated to your sales team in hospice. It's not logical, so I'm left to assume it was just your business development tactic. Plus, the new organization we switched to (By the Bay Health with UCSF) called and notified you, as well as I told the nurse case manager, that's 2 very concrete confirmations that we were switching to another organization, so there's no reason you wouldn't have known. I also failed to mention that it took a week before an LVN or any of the providers came to see my mother after her hospital stay. I also had to call daily to find out when providers were going to come see her, as there was no communication and no sense of urgency to help her. The only reason they started to send people was because I kept calling. Also, the nurse case manager never even came to see my mother. She called to schedule a visit to my mother 2 weeks after her release from the hospital -- only after she heard we were going to switch to another organization and transition to hospice care. It was so unprofessional of her to call and try to do that after our new organization had notified you all that we were ending in-home care services and didn't want your hospice services either. You develop a bad reputation this way and people actively tell others not to use your services with this kind of service and these practices. I assure you that I and others who gave you poor reviews will spread that word.

As someone who's 65,…read moredealing with the range of conditions common to men my age, and constantly traveling internationally for work, I needed more than a doctor who just reacts to problems -- I needed a partner in my health. That's exactly what he is. He's been thoughtful about how my travel schedule affects my body, from medications to sleep and time zone recovery, while staying on top of everything else going on with my health. He also has a real talent for getting patients in front of the right specialists -- not just making a referral, but actually following through. He's what I'd call an old-fashioned country doctor practicing in San Francisco: present, personal, proactive. If you want a physician who truly knows you, Dr. Dolhun is it.

As an example: Because my condition has no cure, but there's constant research happening about it, I read a study about enteroviruses where patients required a sort of obscure blood test. I asked for Dr. Dolhun's help in getting it, and he figured out a way to get it done. I did in fact have some of the weird enteroviruses, and as such found a treatment that gave me a health boost (still not a cure but hey I'll take what I can get).

Their social workers would assume and only listen to my mom's last caregiver (evil minded) instead of really understand what's going on meaning they're destroying a family relationship instead of helping. I've the best relationship with my mom especially after my dad passed away because she's the only parent I've got. Additionally, one of their staff is very rude (back then) when I was just dropping off the last sponsorship for the walkathon that I've collected. NOTE: That lady has the nerve to say "only ten dollars" when it was the last sponsorship I collected. It looks like they're not professional enough to provide service. I told myself that I would never help their organization again nor my friends. They really need to train their staff to have better judgment and behavior. ***If there were zero rating then that's what I would give. This is one of the bad experiences I would never forget.***
