Please Read Before Visiting CSL Plasma I'm genuinely shocked by the positive reviews of CSL. Based on my experience, they must be from bots or staff--there's no other explanation. If I could give zero stars, I would. I've visited three times, and each visit was worse than the last. I'm officially done. I originally chose CSL because it was closer than Biolife, but that was a huge mistake. The difference between the two is night and day--like comparing a thrift store to Neiman Marcus. CSL is dirty, disorganized, and unprofessional. On my first visit, the needle fell out and caused a large hematoma, sidelining me for two weeks. Every visit since, I've been forced to wait for medical clearance, even when unnecessary. The check-in process is chaotic and poorly managed. The most concerning part: during my last donation, no staff member was monitoring donors for an extended period. If something had gone wrong (as it did during my first visit), there was no one nearby to help. At Biolife, staff are always present and attentive. No bruising! These other reviews left me terrified and put off coming to this location. Big mistake. The staff was so welcoming and accepting, they are LGBTQ+ friendly, and super good at communicating with you. It was my first time donating and they got me through the process swiftly. My biggest concern was getting a bad nurse, due to these other reviews, I was horrified and anxious (I have a bad history with IVs being inserted as well). Dawn was the nurse attending to me and she was SO sweet and professional. She handled my bad jokes like an absolute champ, and when I wasn't feeling good she and every nurse available was happy to assist. They are so attentive and genuinely happy to help. And not a single bruise!!!! Im ASTOUNDED at how good this treatment was, and not to mention you are doing a good thing for money in return. An absolute all around win. I will be returning. The last few times I went there would be problems with the machine not working and ending up with bruises. But, what really is frustrating is the new donor visa card with PAYSIGN. I could never get a pin number to use atm. Can only use debit card to buy stuff. Not cool. This location is going downhill fast. I use to come here and donating was very quick and easy. These days expect it to take three hours. Getting checked in is still quick but then you are in for a wait. Not sure what process they changed but typically now there is 8 workers on the donor floor and the line moves about every 15 minutes for one person. Rarely do they have both sides open. I transferred from octapharma as this location and company is closer to my house but I think I will be transferring back. There is no reason the donation process has to be this slow read more

Extremely understaffed. I waited for AN HOUR in the screening line alone, because there was one person working. Then, I get to the donor line and there's still nine people in front of me and only three phlebotomists. This is the third time in a month this has happened and it's never the same time either, so it's not unrealistic to be frustrated. Prior to this, never had any issues. I don't think I would go here because they were so rude when I called to ask for information. I haven't been to the location yet but my goodness I thought it was just the first person I spoke with but the second person was just as rude and hung up on me at the end. So I assume they probably have a very happy job situation there. If that's how the employees are feeling then I cannot imagine being treated well for two hours during donation. WORST PLACE TO DONATE ESPECIALLY DURING THE DAY. there is one girl that is there when we come around noon. shes younger and absolutely butchers the stick everytime. she would not stop adjusting the needle and my boyfriend and i were both bleeding out. terrible. she needs to be fired. my bruising did not go away for over 5 weeks. there is a women at night and her name is mikeo and she is so much better!! my boyfriends arm was not sore or bruising and he even wanted to go back until coming during the day. my mom is an RN and has worked in a plasma donor place before and she agrees that bruising is normal but this type of bruising is not. this is horrific read more

So I went in today, I'm a regular here, usually I have the best experience because everyone is so nice. Today however, I don't know if she was having a bad day or just hates her job, but Cassidy was very very rude and stressed me out where I couldn't even give plasma today. I tried to calm down my stress and tried being super nice to her but she kept her bad attitude and kept getting on my case about stuff I wasn't doing. This place needs a lot of work. The people that actually check your vitals and put you on the machines are way nicer than the people up front. I'm not sure of the heavyset white female that "took care" of me last time but this was a few months back and she had just started apparently since she needed one of the other girls to come in and help her out but she seriously needs to take the stick out of her butt or find a different career path because working in the customer service/medical field clearly ain't it. Her whole demeanor stunk and she only changed her attitude when she accidentally used the f word around me and I guess got nervous that I would tell. I've donated plasma at a couple of places and CSL n McKinney is hands down the least clean and least professional center I've been to. It's in a shady part of town. Homeless people will ask you for money when you enter and leave the facility. There's always long lines to donate. The employees are always overly busy and disorganized. There's always new people training that don't know what they're doing. Last time I donated, the machine broke 1/2 way thru my donation, a manager came and checked the machine out, determined I wouldn't be able to finish my donation, and just left me sitting there with a needle in my arm for 30+ minutes because she was helping unload a truck of new equipment. She didn't communicate a single word to me about the problem with the machine, that I would be ok with not having the blood that left my body able to be put back in me, she logged the machine error and walked away to unload the truck. I had to call someone else over to help me. I can't stress enough the unprofessional nature of this facility. Stay away from this location! read more

I am telling you DO NOT donate plasma here. Please It's not worth it at all. I don't want this to happen to anyone else. I am 18 years old and this was my second time donating here and literally have not been able to move my arm since. I am an athlete who works out every day and this has affected me so much. I am out of work, I barely can go to school, I can't drive a car. I can't do about anything. I have serious pain everyday and I hate looking at my arm. I am super healthy and drink tons of water everyday. They told me "the doctors are going to like you" because I had easy veins to get to. I guess not. This place is not professional at all And I ADVISE YOU DO NOT LET THEM GET CLOSE TO YOU WITH A NEEDLE. This is the worst experience/nightmare of my life and what for a hundred dollars ? I have been told my veins are tricky ,however I have had people with 6weeks of training get it without any problems. my girlfriend went to donate plasma and the woman there stuck the needle way to far in on two consecutive occasions causing pain and for the machine to not work properly. On the most recent donation, she stuck her underneath her vein and into her muscle. Blood was going into the tube that wasn't from her vein but from her muscle, causing blood to also leak out from the puncture site out from under the needle leaking down her arm. As of right now her arm is going numb and she thinks she might have muscle or nerve damage and her whole upper arm is bruising and solidifying where it shouldn't be. It's rock solid 2-3 inches above the puncture site proving that the woman missed the vein and hit her tissue This is the second time this has happened and myself nor her will ever come back here and the woman there clearly isn't qualified to work there. i would do 0 stars if i could. read more

From them letting a brand new employee, who was very inexperienced do my needle stick, which caused a lot of pain and made the donation take almost 2 hours, to them having 1 employee at check-in/vitals causing me to wait 30 minutes to even be acknowledged when I was having an issue with my questionnaire, to them having very low staff in the donation area causing myself and many others to have to wait 30-45 minutes to even start the donation after laying on the bed, to them not communicating that they're system assigns you certain days and changes them randomly if you've missed a donation so I wasted an entire 2 hours because of this issue with their customer service. It is not worth it. Go to BioLife and save yourself the trouble. It is a night and day difference. read more

Today, CSL called my elderly father regarding negative feedback he left on your CSL website. An incident occurred on Saturday 2/11/23. My father has psoriasis, and it is currently managed well, without the need of steroids, both oral and topical. He was treated in a very unprofessional manner at the clinic by his nurse or plasma tech. He didn't catch her name, but she refused to allow him to donate plasma, due to "psoriasis on his AC joint, and "her license is on the line"." as he has been doing since October 2023. He has disclosed all of his medications, but was never rejected in the past for this skin condition. It hasn't flared up, he's not currently taking any meds for it, and there IS NOT a rash on AC joint. I respectively disagree with the Dx that the tech reported that Saturday. Today, 2/13/23, my father was contacted by 2 representatives from CSL on a 3 way call. During the conversation, my father was repeatedly talked over, cut off, and at times, shouted at. I'm sure that you can pull the phone call recording to verify my statement. As a paramedic, I'm appalled at the way your providers spoke to an elderly patient. I attempted to intervene to deescalate the situation, bc all 3 of them were screaming at each other. I was simply trying to verify what form and actions were needed to resolve the issue bc the psoriasis has never been an issue in the past. I have taken photographs of his AC joint to show that not only is his AC joint clear of any rashes or other underlying skin issues to document this "rash." I feel that your team treated an elderly person in a poor manner, and after looking at the comment section on your McKinney page, the same theme of disrespect, contempt, untrained, negligence, and rudeness is common thread among many of your patients. I don't recommend donating plasma at this center. Went many times to donate over the course of a year. Most staff is extremely friendly however Jessica was very rude. I understand that the staff don't get paid more than $14 an hour which seems underpaid for such a difficult and skilled job. Last time I went in to donate I was told I was no longer allowed due to me ripping my needle out and losing a huge amount of blood. That did not happen! It was my first donation today. The wait-times were fine until it was time to take my photo I.D. The camera in my screening room was blurry and it took the staff member 15+ minutes to find an alternative approach (ended up going to a different room with a different camera). After that wasted time, it was time for my vitals. My weight and blood pressure were fine, in fact my blood pressure was near perfect (121/82). However, I was refused to donate because my heart rate was too high, by two beats per minute. Usually my heart-rate is at most 100 but I have anxiety, so it tends to increase at moments of high stress. They sent me to the waiting room for 15 minutes to "calm down", which only made me more anxious. By the time I was reassessed for heart-rate, my anxiety had peaked and my heart-rate had increased even more. They told me to come back the next day, as if there would be different results. Won't be returning no matter how badly I need the money. If you have anxiety or have a heart-rate over 110 they refuse to take your blood, so don't bother coming and having three hours of your day wasted. Staff were nice, though. read more
