This location of North Star is terrible. This started with all information being in mychart which…read morethey didn't review. Then they sent a form to complete which they still didn't review. we arrived 5 minutes late which they said they had to reschedule for 30 minutes later. After getting rescheduled the tech comes out and says you need to take this prescription before getting your scan due to allergies but you have to contact the prescribing doctor to get the prescription filled at the pharmacy. Two of the three prescriptions were OTC but one of the OTC prescriptions has been discontinued. For the life of me I can't understand why they would provide a prescription for an expired medication. I've contacted North Star trying to get the alternative prescription but I was told they would call me back in 15 minutes which I never received so when I called them they put me on hold and never returned to the phone. The two ladies at the front desk never have a clue and do a terrible job with patient handling.

I had the strangest experience there and probably the most surreal and uncomfortable situation at…read morean imaging place I've ever encountered in my life yesterday. I had to reschedule my first x-ray appointment in Wylie because their equipment had broke down and they were able to reschedule me in Allen the same morning. When I checked in, the lady I worked with was in the far left corner and she was very polite. I had mentioned to her. I did not fill out the online check-in information and preferred to fill out paperwork and she said no problem. When I returned the paperwork to her, I mentioned to her that my birthdate was wrong. I then noticed the lady on my right. (Her name was Coy) spoke under her breath out loud and said ,"If you had filled out the online application, you would've noticed that." It was very flippant remark and with a snippy tone. She was working with another patient and I was taken back by what she had just done and I decided to speak up and advocate for myself, and I said, " Did she just talk under her breath about me ?" to the lady in front of me. And then Coy spoke up again said," oh I didn't mean to hurt your feelings," in which I then replied," you have not hurt my feelings, but you're behaving in a very unprofessional manner, and I can't believe you would be checking out this patient beside me and also be talking under your breath about me which has nothing to do with you." She tried to defend herself and I just walked away and sat down and waited for my x-ray. Once I'm called back, Tricia takes me back to the x-ray room and as she's getting things ready there's a knock on the door and Tricia opens the door and isn't surprised to see Coy at the door and let's her in. !!!!!!!!! Mind you I feel like I'm in a movie right now. It's the craziest thing! I look at Tricia. She doesn't look surprised and is avoiding eye contact with me so I'm thinking to myself, "Had Coy asked permission from Tricia to allow her to corner me in the x-ray room to talk to me again about the situation up front? It was crazy. Coy starts apologizing to me and states that I've misunderstood and she had no bad intention. I'm still freaking out that this is even happening and I look at Coy and I tell her that I didn't appreciate her talking about me under her breath when she wasn't even the person checking me in or taking my payment and she kept talking over me and she wouldn't let me finish my sentence. Tricia, the x-ray tech was just watching not doing anything about it not telling Coy to go away not protecting me as a patient and I finally had to raise my voice and tell Coy to get out of the room so I could get my x-rays completed. It was absolutely bizarre and frightening at the same time and I couldn't believe Coy had gone from the front desk to the x-ray room to talk to me about this when I'm trying to get an x-ray. I was so shaken up. It was very hard for me to go through the next 15 minutes of x-rays. I was so upset. I was on the verge of tears. It was horrible. I spoke to the manager Lauren afterwards and she was very kind to listen to my experience and she assured me that they would be escalating this to upper management and it would be taken care of. I have not heard from their office yet, but I hope this never happens to anyone else. It was truly traumatic and it made no sense.

Nurse was professional, a good communicator, friendly, and cheerful. It is wonderful to have a nurse who smiles and can relax a patient. Nurse explained everything in an easy way for me to understand. I appreciate her expertise and her willingness to have short conversations with me. She gently inserted the catheter that was used for contrast dye. She also gently removed the catheter after the procedures were complete. MRI and CT technicians were also professional and good communicators. They also explained everything ahead of time so I knew what to expect. Two days later I returned to Envision Imaging to pick up my CD-ROM of previous imaging. I also picked up a CD-ROM of the MRI and CT that Envision Imaging performed. You can use both entrances, but if you use the parking garage, you have to ring the bell so they let you in. The have a snacks and coffee counter for you to raid when you are done with whatever it is you need. I had imaging with contrast, and so I wasn't supposed to eat before my appointment. I had a coffee and a snack before I left and a little bottle of water. When I had to come back to bring my imaging disc to my referring doctor, it was just a quick call and it was ready for me by the time I came to pick it up on my way,which was about 20 minutes! I am a DCC fan, so it was so cool to see a DCC name in the CT scan room (although unfortunate that she had to get a scan!) Whenever they have athletes in,they can sign the wall. I thought it was neat.

This is my third time to visit Blue Star Imaging at the Star. The first two times were over 3 years…read moreago. Just like three years ago, the whole process was streamlined and quick. This time, I arrived more than 30 minutes early. At intake I was presented with a few forms to review and sign as well as the expected out-of-pocket expense. They took me back for my imaging after maybe a 5-minute wait in the reception area. I actually was out of there BEFORE my original appointment time! Technicians and staff were friendly and efficient. Overall, a very pleasant experience if you're in need of medical imaging. I highly recommend them.
