I have been coming to this center for awhile but took a break until this week I had come in…read moreWednesday and my fingerstick had a low level so I had to come back, while I was there I was told I had to do a mini physical as well and read the book and watch a video. I did that but left and returned on Friday. I arrived at 9:15 to get things started, scanned in only to sit and wait (lobby was not busy) I was told at about 9:30 I had to rematch the video and read the book by the guy at the front desk. I told him i did it 2 days ago and needed to do the mini physical and finger stick he said I had to rematch the video and read the book again. I told him I wasn't told that the other day i was told I had to bring up a level and do the finger stick again and mini physical he said well you have to re-watch the video and read the book. So I did. I went and scanned in again just in case. I sat down for a few more minutes and now the lobby was full so I asked how long it would be. He said it will be awhile you just scanned in, I said I scanned in earlier he said that didnt count. It started after you watched the video and read the book. I told him he watched me sit there for over 15 minutes and didn't say a word he said well I didnt talk to my supervisor until you saw me leave the front so I didnt know what you had to do til then so no you can wait I said I dont have another 2 hours he said well you cant jump ahead so you can wait your turn. I said I have been waiting you didnt say anything til I had already been here he said well I didnt know like I said. He said so you can wait your turn. At that point I told him I wanted a supervisor and he told me no so I told him I wasn't waiting and left I called from my car and asked for a manager he said I dont have a manager. I said you just talked to one you told me. He said no I didn't I said you talked to someone, he said that was my supervisor so I said let me talk to them. He put me on hold and left me on hold. I called back he answered and didn't say a word and put me back on hold. I held 5 minutes ans called back and a randy answered I called him. After that I called 1-855-myplasma and I decided to go and schedule that night with a different location as I wont go back to the gus thomasson location I refuse to deal with the treatment I got today again and they deferred me! So I guess if you complain they defer you apparently because there is no medical reason to defer me. I was told Wednesday I would return Thursday or Friday!

This business is practicing Discriminatory procedures…read more I entered the Kedrion Plasma center, Address 8989 sut#100 Dallas,Tx 75243, on July 22, 2021 between the hours of 9:00a.m. and 11:00a.m. I provided them with two forms of I.D. and proof of residence. The KedPlasma personnel then instructed me to thoroughly review the information in a Binder with health facts and other basic deferral knowledge. In this Binder it states "A recent tattoo may affect your eligibility to donate for a period of 4 months up to 12 months, depending on the state in which the tattoo was applied. You may be eligible to donate if your tattoos are older." After reviewing the information in the binder I was instructed to watch a 20 minute video that basically reiterated the information given in the Health Binder. After the video then came a 50+ questionnaire that I accurately completed. Then came the Health screening that was given to me by an impeccably courteous staff member by the name of Aseel. After passing the Screening I met with the Physician, a very colorful woman by the name of Brandi, with a tattoo of a Caterpillar on one ear and a Butterfly on the other. As a part of the physical she had to log all of my tattoos in detail so they would be able to tell if I ever received any new tattoos in the future. Which makes complete sense because hepatitis can be received through dirty needles that could possibly come from a tattoo, but my tattoos are 8 years old and healthy. After logging the tattoos on my forearms we came to the one on my left pectoral and then Brandi the Physician stated "It is the Policy of KedPlasma to deny anyone with a gang tattoo." I am a 27 year old black male that has been denied an opportunity to donate plasma at their facility not because of my health but because my tattoo is GANG RELATED. I have donated at the CSL Plasma and Octapharma Plasma centers with these same tattoos and was not denied. What my tattoo says should not determine the value of the person that who is donating. This is the clearest practice of discrimination I have ever endured and I deeply believe that "Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are." -Benjamin Franklin

How is this even allowed? Studies show that human nails are an incubator for germs and viruses. Add the fakes that trap more and you have a breeding ground for bacteria. You people need to rethink your management choices and heads need to roll. Biolife is a better option. You can schedule your visit. They are friendly don't treat you like you're in the penitentiary. When you're finished giving they usually remove the needle with 5 mins and have the staff needed for all the machines they have. Also the new machines they use leave scars. It's like the machine has some suction to it. Biolife depends on the natural flow and will alert when you're not pumping enough to create the flow it needs. Just a different experience all together.

We were offered a tour of Baylor hospital (virtual due to COVID), newborn classes, and tons of educational resources after booking with NDDA. What stood out to me most was the fact that the all female team there just made you feel like you were so seen, every step of the way. As a Black woman, childbirth can be an extremely scary experience, just look up the statistics of mistreatment in the healthcare space for minorities. Melissa and team advocated for my husband and I. I've worked with Meredith L. and Madison Prez for the placenta encapsulation. They were both very easy to contact and responded promptly over text. I worked with Madison most recently, and she picked up the placenta and quickly processed it and delivered it to my home. I got placenta pills, a tincture, the keepsake cord, and the art print.
