Umm seems more set up like a factory. They don't even offer chairs, they corral you around like an animal. When you're finished they take their time to take the needle out. Biolife is a better option. You can schedule your visit. They are friendly don't treat you like you're in the penitentiary. When you're finished giving they usually remove the needle with 5 mins and have the staff needed for all the machines they have. Also the new machines they use leave scars. It's like the machine has some suction to it. Biolife depends on the natural flow and will alert when you're not pumping enough to create the flow it needs. The center was dirty, and the staff was lackluster. They informed me that I needed to see a doctor, assuring me that it wouldn't take long since there wasn't a line. There wasn't a line, but I sat there and watched the medical staff laughing together for a whole 10 minutes straight (I timed it) while I was sat there waiting on them. I walked out and did not donate. I didn't need the money as badly as some other people. If you're not unemployed, my best advice is to fix your spending habits. Don't come to these places; they're run-down and unhygienic, and they can't even treat you with basic respect. They make more money than you from these donations, but to them you're on their time not the other way around. read more

I sit up front waiting on someone, 30 mins go by... 2 more people walk in and sit in the area waiting, one lady called one of the people and another 30 mins, someone starts walking up to the desk that worked there and the lady beside me ran up and got help before I had a chance to be like excuse me, I had an appt an hr ago and no one has even been up here! The app said I would receive $125 for my second donation as a donor but after I donated, they told me I was only getting $100 because they "just changed" their rates. Decreasing their rates right before Christmas when they know their donors are desperate to make extra cash for the holiday, is a really dirty way to treat their donors. CSL gets paid a lot of money for each sample of plasma and can easily afford to not decrease their rates. The staff is really nice, professional and friendly but CSL corporate jerks can go kick rocks. read more

The only reason I'm giving them as much as 2 stars is because of the attentive staff when I commented about tingling in my arm and pain in my chest, then I passed out. There were many techs around me to help me when I woke up, but I feel that I was released too soon because I had to pull off the freeway to passout again and then rested on the shoulder for 20 minutes. My blood preasure was still too low when I was released. I explained this to them during the follow up call the next day, but they didn't care, they just wanted to know how I felt that very moment. In the beginning I was there for the expected 2 hours for my first visit, but if I had used the bathroom earlier I would had left right away, I had been there for so long that I just wanted to get it over with. I drove over to CSL for my donation day to find out that they had randomly screened my protein and didn't have the results. I was turned away from donating. I didn't know they were doing this. They didn't bother to contact me. CSL can do this through the app, it's so lame and unprofessional. I was speaking with Ida a manager and I voiced my thoughts that CSL really doesn't care about their donors time or gas spent. I mentioned going to another center and she jumped all over that concept to definitely go. Again it was confirmed to me they don't really have a concern about the donors. I went in to donate plasma after being advised to by a friend. While the reception staff and the nurse who performed my physical were as friendly as could be expected, staff on the floor were somewhat rude to me. After damaging the vein in my arm closest to the plasma separation machine the IV was tossed over my chest in such a way that I couldn't move without disturbing it. After about 45 minutes a nurse snapped at me that I should be done by now, and that I should have been pumping my hand the entire procedure. (Which was not explained in the supplemental material provided, nor by any member of staff). After my donation I received a Visa gift card for compensation, which I later discovered was blank. I was instructed on the phone to come back in and receive a new card after calling to complain. read more

Sometimes they are very slow and the associates who do the sticks tend to miss alot. The customer service has always been good. Payments could be a bit higher due to the long waits at times. (I just realized this review is for the location on Elle rd. In Houston) I have been going here for a few months to donate plasma. Usually they did a pretty good job, but the last few times have been a bit rough. They have some new staff, and when they went to place the (very large) needle, the cuff wasn't on to hold off the vein. The first time this happened it was an easy correction and she got in right away. When I went a few days ago, they dug and dug and even pulled me in the chair to get a chord from behind me to make the cuff work. Still not in the vein. The lady got in, and the second she walked away it fell out. Someone else had to come place it, and she got in and it stayed. I woke up the next morning and it hurt so bad I couldn't bend my arm, and now I look like a heroine addict with all the bruises. read more

CSL plasma, I had a very good experience at this place.The staff is very friendly and helpful and they treat you like you are a regular patient, the Dr himself gave as follow up call the next day, they move you right along, they are clean, and really show concern for the donor, very insensitive and I don't mean to say they are any different towards the patients that the donations go to. On Wednesday August 7, 2019 I entered a CSL donation center located at 3201 S Cobb Dr, Smyrna, GA USA 30080. About 5 weeks prier to that date, the CSL employee taken my 'vitals' at this facility informed me that CSL plasma just changed their donation policy regarding the maximum age a donor can donate plasma from 65 years old to 72 years old. When I entered this facility I was directed to see a nurse as I was over 65 years old. Upon entering this office the person I was talking to was not a nurse but simply an employee of CSL. It was already determined to not be able to donate so no exam was necessary. I was told that this decision to not allow me to donate was based on: my donation ;frequency. My presently deciding to go from using a cane to a walker. The 'bad reports' coming from all the CSL employees at the 'vitals' stations. Let me 'address' each of these items separately. #1) I am currently a 'Gold Card' donor. That mean I have my name engraved on a plaque. They only do this for the people that donate consistently every two weeks. I have taken the last 4 weeks prior to me coming in (after I turned 65). So unless the CSL employee in question looked at my ENTIRE donation record, they would have gotten an erroneous indication. #2) I made the decision to go from using a cane to using a walker about two years ago (right after I started donating). If CSL had any problem with my using a walker, it seems like they would have said something two years ago. And I have to say here that I am not the only person at this location of CSL that uses a walker. #3) I have over the years saw every person that provides 'vitals'. I donate at such a frequent basis that every CSL employee that gives 'vitals' I have worked with on a frequent basis. Most of the CSL employees know me on a last name basis. *Update* CSL just changed their pricing. It is advertised that with this change, you can actually earn an additional $100 per month. WRONG. On the cards with the new pricing it includes payment for your 9th & 10th donation. Well, if you donate twice per week (which is all that is allowed) and go 4 weeks per month, that is 8 donations. So it is impossible to go 10 times per month. I called to inquire and the girl immediately referred me to customer service not giving me an explanation. I contacted customer service. He informed me that if you go Tue & Thur than you can fit in 10 donations this month. So...the entire town is suppose to go only on Tuesdays and Thursdays?? Essentially they lowered everyones donation payments and worded it to sound as if you win in the long run. If you cannot go twice a week every week due to your schedule you actually are now paid less. There are no more end of month bonuses either. And if you are in a lower weight class you only get $15. It is very deceiving. BLP pays more and aren't trying to trick people. read more

My husband went in to donate yesterday and they kept getting a "no flow" so they tried to readjust the needle digging into his arm and then it was "no flow" again! So they stuck him in his other arm and the needle was crooked so they moved it around each time they moved and fished for a vein they missed they would try to restick!!!!!! Y'all arent supposed to stick them more then 2 times he finally couldn't take the pain anymore and told them to just unhook him his arm is SOOOOOO bruised and isn't gonna be able to donate for awhile due to their lack Of compassion in dealing with sticking the needle in wrong to begin with trying to blame him for not drinking enough water He has been donating there forever and has never had a problem like this! I think that a lot of people would appreciate reading a thoughtful review of CSL Plasma from a long-time, veteran donor. I've been going to CSL (and ZLB before that), off and on for years now. I'm going to address some common issues that seem to come up a lot. Pain... To me, it's in no way painful. I mean, I suppose it's a little bit uncomfortable. But, if anything, my pride hurts more than my arm when I go. Money... The money is okay, actually. People underestimate how much money you can make going. I get an extra 65 dollars a week/260 dollars a month donating plasma. I get 20 for the first visit, and 45 second. If you weigh over 175 lbs then you'll make that much as well. For your first five visits, you get 45 dollars each. The money is tax free. Not too shabby. Look online. They probably post how much you'll get for your time there. Sketchy people... Can't argue with this point, much. You'll see some sketchy people there, I guess. Bring a book and headphones. Now, don't get me wrong; it's not fun to go. Frankly, I hate it sometimes. But, when I've needed the money (like now because I'm a full time returning student at ASU), it's typically a better option than a part time job. I can go in when I want, or not, if I don't feel like it. I have no specific hours to conform to. And I can bring my textbooks in to get some homework out of the way while I'm there. Out of a few hundred sticks, I've only had 2 bad ones, and both of them were by employees that didn't stay with the company long. The staff is real friendly and get's their work done. The plasma center in Abilene Texas has the worst phlebotomists. As one of the employees stuck me in my left arm my vein became infiltrated and started to balloon up. She continued to leave the needle in while another one tried to find the vein before finally pulling it out. Now I've had this enormous bruise on my arm for a week now and they wont let you come back without it completely gone! I've had family and friends complain about this place as well. They need to hire better phlebotomists and get rid of that bitch who fucked up my arm!! read more

I go regularly because of the convenience of the location. I do have several gripes though. 1. Staff is very unprofessional. Some fun and joking around is great, the staff here acts like a bunch of middle-schoolers. They are usually more interested in joking around than doing their jobs. 9 times out of 10 the person doing my physical tries to tell me about their crazy weekend of partying, or show me the disgusting injury they got. The lack of professionalism definitely gets annoying. 2 Pay rates are fair. BUT they can trick you with the pay scheduling. If you come twice a week, the first visit is $20, the second is $39. Seems pretty straight forward. WRONG. I went on a Saturday and got $20 then on Monday and got $20. They never tell you that 7 days does not constitute a week. Pay rates run by the calendar-week. 3 Yesterday when going, there was an older red-haired woman working; not a phlebotomist, responsible for clearing out the used machines, setting up new ones, and removing needles and bandaging people up. I watched her go from person to person, machine to machine and NEVER CHANGE HER GLOVES EVEN ONCE! That's not the norm though. Disturbing none-the-less. Realistically though, if you are in the situation where you need money bad enough to sell your plasma, that stuff probably won't stop you from going to CSL. Things are not going well at the mesquite clinic. 5/28/21 was the worst wait time ever. It took more than 4 hours! Most of that time was standing in a line that moved very little. Eventually, they got more workers on the floor and moved a big group of donors is to sit. It was still a long wait to get hooked up. Lately, the waits have been long which makes it difficult to donate. I have to work and may not be able to keep donating if doesn't get better. read more

Went to the 1000 Broadway. AZ location a few days ago. My first time donating plasma and ti was not skanky or sketchy at all. The staff was professional and the only problem was that I was three for more than four hours. Part of the reason was that my blood was not flowing very quickly. The next visits should be easier. Payment is $60 each for the first four donations as long as you do them within four weeks, but then it goes down to $20, increasing with each subsequent visit. The more you weigh the more money you get. I have to warn that this is not a fun way to get money - let's face it, almost everyone does it for the money. As teacher, I was going to try this to help pay off my student loans, but after four visits I will not go back. $20-25 for my plasma is not worth it. The staff is fine. Quality measures must be put in place to assure needed donors are not taken for granted. I left. This is not how those attempting to help others should be treated. If you are transgender, I suggest not going to this location (162nd and Glisan, Portland,Or). I have had several occasions where staff disclosed my transgender status loudly in front of a room full of people. I also had one guy wanting to ask me tons of questions about being on testosterone even when I said i was uncomfortable talking about it with him, as he was sticking my arm. Told me over the phone that I qualified for new donor fees. I identified myself as a new donor. Was there almost 3 hours doing the new donor process, answering 60 questions all that just for them to tell me after I donated that I was a few weeks early for new donor qualifications. So I got 30 dollars for three hours. And the management said it was nothing they could do. Would not have donated here if it wasn't for the new donor fees i was promised since telecris pays more on a regular basis, so I was pretty mad that I not only have to wait a whole 6 months from now to try for new donor fees but also sat and did all that for 30 bucks. Which couldn't even cover my phone bill which I planned to pay today. read more

Went in Wednesday, started signing up to discover they require a printed SSN. Went to my employer's office (office is 6 miles from where I work) Thursday and requested a copy of last years W2, which I collected from my employer's office on Friday. I then went back to CSL, where I am turned away again as I didn't know I had to have eaten within 4 hours. Went back today (Sunday) to discover that because I'm British (I had showed my green card on all visits and have the accent), I cannot donate at all. Each visit was a ~15 minute wait followed by 5 minutes of the staff trying, then failing, to process me. This is shambolic. If I'd been told the first visit everything that was required, I could have saved two return visits to CSL and visiting my employers office twice. New donors are unlikely to know anything that is required to donate! Being short staffed, staff are trying to get rid of people ASAP, without considering that processing my refusal took CSL staff nearly 3 times as long as it would have done if they'd taken 1 extra minute on my first visit to click down past 'has donor eaten' to 'absolutely no Brits'. Seriously CSL, tell people what they need to do to donate and save everyone a lot of time. Even a leaflet would work if you can't be bothered to verbally tell people what is needed. read more

I tried to apply for a 3 positions of employment on their website. Instantly, after each application was submitted, I received emails saying my application was not successful. There was no indication why. And conveniently for them, there is no contact email or phone number for feedback on their website. No way to get it appealed. Basically I just have to suck it up with the time I wasted. There is obviously an automatic screening process on their site but they don't state what it is nor do they stop you from applying. It seems CSL hires anyone body these days. I haven't donated in months. As soon as I arrive no one greeted me or anything. I took me 30 mins to get customer service. Not only that the staff are lazy. All they do is gossip and make fun of their donors or crack jokes at themselves. It's sad really, the environment is toxic and you will feel as soon as you walk in. I had staff making fun of me or calling me slow for not answering the basic questions they ask you. Only go here if you need some cash other that. Prepare for the toxic comments from the staff. I normally have some good experiences here but the last two times I went on two separate occasions and different locations the phlebotomist's literally butchered my arm and I'm pretty sure it was intentional because they don't like me as a donor. They put the needle in sideways, not in deep enough, etc. On my last two visits both phlebotomist needed to call over 2-3 other nurses and I had to get stuck like 3x which left me with significant bruising and unnecessary extra pain. Most of the phlebotomist are severely under trained and the locations are extremely understaffed(especially Johnston). If this doesn't improve I will be contacting corporate and putting these stories up on social media with the phlebotomist name who does the actual butchering. If and when done right the patient should barely feel that needle enter their skin. read more
