Absolute waste of time and never felt so judged and violated in my entire life. I work full time and am a parent of 3 and went with my wife as a gesture of good faith in humanity. I don't need the money, I just wanted to make a difference. After waiting an eternity and going through all the videos and paperwork, I was sent to a room for someone to examine my tattoos. Fine and dandy, I understand tattoos can carry threats of bloodborne illness so I complied. All of my tattoos are years old and no longer a threat, but I was forced into explaining the MEANING and SYMBOLOGY of my religious tattoos to the point to where I felt personally judged by the woman (I'm a man, which raises another issue when it comes to personal exams) who was doing the exam. She grew increasingly agitated and personally upset when I described my tattoos but refused to disclose what they symbolized. None of my tattoos are race or hate related, mind you. After the invasive exam was completed I was put in a line to have my vitals checked. I was denied (after 2 1/2 hours of my day was wasted filing the prerequisites) because my heart rate was 1 BEAT PER MINUTE over their requirements. I left at that moment and swore to never return. I have never felt so violated and belittled in my life. All I was there for was to be a good human and help somebody out, not to voluntarily be profiled like a criminal and forced into such an uncomfortable situation. The worst part is, they have my information, ssn, signature, vitals and MANY other bits of personal information that could be potentially shared with anyone they deem fit and I didn't even go through with the donation. If you really want to help, just fill out the donor info on your license and worry about it when you are just a cadaver. No living human should have to be put through what these people force upon you. If there are any attorneys In the Southeast Michigan area that would like to help me with this matter, please respond because I'm very upset by how this all played out and would like to discuss my legal options on this matter. read more

Had a phlebotomist cause a bruise on my right arm 8 days ago. Used a heating pad and bruise cream to bring the swelling down. Went to donate today, and the first technician claimed the bruise was purple, and I would be unable to do so. I disagreed, as the bruise had turned light green; the difference was clearly visible between my bruise and the photos of purple bruises I was showing them. So, she calls a second technician over, and that one claimed the bruise was red. They also that the Amica bruise cream I was using was makeup. I'm done dealing with a place that causes the injury, then claims you are ineligible to donate because you have redness on a bruise that they caused 8 days earlier. read more

Customer service for the card is terrible. They don't give any instructions on the card and charge you every time you login to your account to try and figure it out. They then tell me that I was supposed to call them first so they could give me instructions. Why not provide them with the card? Make them available on their website? Not list options that don't exist? Make at least one way to get the money off the card? They charge for balance inquiry? If I want to check my balance online, fee. Check balance at ATM, fee, call them for balance, fee, txt balance, fee. read more

It's is actually not that bad at all. I enjoy donating for me, it's relaxing. I went in for my first time two days ago and I will be back. The staff were very nice and very polite (which I didn't expect). They were very patient with Me. Would definitely recommend. Now for the pay... Your first 5 visits you get $50 which have to be within 30 days. And after that it's $20 for you first visit and $44 for your second consecutive visit ( if your over 175lbs like I am) this is a great way to help people and to make some money along the way. Your first visit expect to be there about 2-3 hours. And for a regular visit anywhere from 45 min to 2 hours depending on how busy they are. CSL is so horrible with their treatment to the customers, payments, and mistakes. As soon as I get done writing this review, the CDC will be notified about them not changing their gloves. They probably have spread infections diseases through contamination. Just imagine, you were in perfect health when you went to donate plasma a few months ago. Now you just tested HIV positive. Was it worth it to go to CSL to make $25.00? They can careless about you. They will get an attitude if you ask them to change their gloves. They are the lowest paying out there and have the longest wait times. You would think you would get compensated for your time. "Over worked and under payed." that sums it up. It is not a mater of if, but when! You will be deferred. They do not know how to stick the needle in your vein properly. Once they withdraw 200ml of blood from you and can not return it, you will get deferred for two months. When you come back and you are under the impression that you are still a new donor and will get new donor payment. Wrong. Why would you go back after you see what is like on your first visit. I can't believe people would subject themselves to such horrific conditions. These are just a few of the many reasons why it is not a good idea to go to a terrifying CSL center where the people are nasty. Your chances of receiving HIV or any other non curable disease are extremely high at this place. Stay healthy and be careful about this center. read more

I just left a CSL center. I had been there as a new client for 2.5 hours and still hadn't reached the donation process. I learned many negative things about the process and what a pain it is to use the prepaid Visa you are given. I hit a glitch due to a medication I take probably 4 times a year and was denied until I jumped through numerous hoops. Also found out that at a weight below 149 lbs, I was only getting $15 for my time! I also expected a better area in which to spend 90 minutes during the process. Don't take a coat or purse. Nowhere to even put the bottle of water I was given. Looks like a good place to catch an illness due to proximity to others. read more

So it was my first time in there today and came with a friend to support her (she's not a needle fan). After waiting for a good hour before even being taken back after reading the book and watching the video I'm talk with the woman who is first filling out my info. When you first come in they give you a paper with a body printed on it (front and back of the body) you mark if you ha e any liercings or tattoos and where they are. Well when I was in with the woman she reviewed my peircings and I was disqualified due to a genital piercings. According to her they disqualify anyone with their genitals pierced because it often has infections. Wtf!!! I've never had an infection esp not due to my piercing that I've had for 7 years now! She also proceeded to tell me they disqualift anyone with facial tattoos and gang related tattoos. So my guess is they assume a certain type of lifestyle goes with those piercings. Anyway its crap! They test for infections and I do not in the slightest look like some of the shaddy people in there. I can give a review of the whole process but I stand by my low score based on my jokeof an experience. The worst part is I was stuck waiting at some resturant for my friend I came with for the remaining 2 hours it took before she finally was done! They have no place there to wait for someone. And when you are donating and need assisted and the staff walk away and can care less what you need. After 6 months your supposed to be considered a new donor, after my second donation I only got 20.00, when it clearly states 50.00 for the first 5 donations.I was in an emergency situation and went back a second time. I sat unhooked in the chair for over a half hour.I overheard the staff member say "Oh they are going to have to sit there and just wait!! A HALF HOUR!!! while they stand there joking and playing around.They make a huge profit as it is. I have had good experience at the 1334 E. Broadway location. Most of the people at the 1334 E. Broadway location are knowledgeable and friendly. Payment is instantly added to the credit/debit card and there are no fees associated with using the card as as long as it is used within the easy-to-follow guidelines. My experience at the 1000 E. Broadway location about a half-mile west is not so good and I do not plan to go back there because they repeatedly treated me poorly. I plan to stick with the 1334 E. Broadway location. It is no surprise that the 1334 E. Broadway location gets high recommendations. read more

I went to donate to them for the first time today and waited 30 minutes to even be acknowledged at the counter. They were standing and talking right in front of me, ignoring me. Finally I got helped and she turned me away because my social was laminated which I never had a problem before. I quickly told them my mother did it after I was born and I've never had a problem. One of the girls doing the vitals spoke up rudely, "what did she not read where it says don't laminate " and I get that it does says that but she put it very rudely. And then the girl helping at the counter said I can cut out my social, so I asked for scissors and she informed they don't have any. Not one pair on premise. Which is very hard to believe. So I'm waiting on my husband to finish and I walk over to him to ask for the car keys and an older lady comes up and says I can't be standing there with him. And I say "alright one second." So I can get the keys from him and she gets super mad. I know I'm not supposed to be there but he's my husband what am I going to do, steal his information?" Overall I will not be coming back. My first time donating plasma was amazing. I had a really good experience and everyone was super nice. After that, it was nothing but criticism and staff that don't care. The staff is rude, they don't care about the clients, just a paycheck. My fiancé even said that the staff by him where he was donating were talking about having sex and their private parts. Very unprofessional and a super rude medical manager named Eric who doesn't care about anything but being left alone. Go somewhere else, you were warned! I went to the CSL Plasma center in Lawrenceville Ga. upon arriving i was put through a lot of info about the donation process and what is not a acceptable donation patient, it covers hiv,hepatitis a,b,c and a lot of others that I never heard of when you first get there. So after being there 2 1/2 hours and my final screen, I was asked if I took any med's and I said yes I am diabetic and sometimes need insulin. I was told to see the nurse and she told me no I could not donate but if I quit taking insulin I could come back--its like she was trying to get me to stop treating my diabetes so I could help them by being a patient. Really how could a nurse even suggest that. I was upset that I could have been told within the first 5 minutes that if you are diabetic and take insulin you cannot participate. I asked the manager about this and he said they cannot tell you this because people lie. I asked him don't you think people will lie about other things that are pointed out up front that would disqualify you and he said yes. I filed a complaint with their corporate office and a parrot so to say called with the excuse that they could get a write up if they let people know upfront about diabetes, and she hears this a lot. Side note the staff is friendly but are always chatting with each other instead of focusing on the customer. The wait times are unnecessarily long (2.5~3.5 hours!), they make you watch these pointless videos, ask the same questions multiple times, but worst of all - the staff is completely incompetent, disorganized, and apathetic. After mentioning I had a few mental conditions that don't even affect actual plasma donations I was """disqualified""" (read: discriminated against) because the 'nurse' thought I "wouldn't be able to sit still long enough" for the needle. What? Seriously? My mom was also disqualified because her veins were too thin, but ended up giving her the money anyway, yet I got nothing because "lolanxiety." Wow, just... How has this place stayed in business so long? In hindsight, I wish I had recorded the nurse's lame excuse and took this place to court. First, let me say this is only my 2nd negative review... EVER. I hesitate to write it as the guys I met last night were as opposite as humanly possible from the beast that we dealt with today. Today marks the 2nd time we've driven across town, for absolutely nothing. I certainly understand the need for "gold standard" and the utmost in security when dealing with bodily fluids. I also understand there ought be a certain amount of fluency amongst the same company. Last time, a nice guy (wish I got names) reviewed our documents and indicated the only thing we needed was either a social security card or W2 for me. I got both. Today, the miserable Lady at the counter acted as though we were junkies in search of our next fix. She literally chuckled when attempting to explain what I'd been told last night. She refused to look at other items I'd brought. Again, I work in health-care and respect the mandates imposed. Safety being paramount above all else. That said, I'm confident I had appropriate documents and was merely an inconvenience. I'm livid and my attempt to teach my son the value in giving back has been a bust. We won't stop here, cant help but wonder how many lives are lost due to such dismal encounters. If I've ever seen a woman that hates her job, it was today. A shame. read more

I've had a good experience thus far. Staff seem capable of doing their jobs and duties. Some employees are slackers. The rest are professional enough to get you in and out. I wish there was a better way to control the clients that come in that they don't need to "YELL" to talk. Have courtesy for others, Please! I went in yesterday and the guy beside me yelled a conversation the entire time he was across the isle from another man that they could have probably heard both of them in the adjoining stores. He talked "yelled" so loudly, from the time he arrived at 1:15pm till he left around 2:45pm. Well, I was leaving he was still hanging around talking very loudly to the staff. He finally left the building, as I was exiting about to get in my truck he went back in and started a furthering conversation with someone else. I realize people are lonely, but this was more of the aggressive annoying I've ever heard. He was very narcissistic and very inconsiderate towards others around. I called the home office and spoke to the security team and requested to be notified and I have not been after 5 days. I am very disappointed about this company. CSL is a multi million dollar company that prays on people who need plasma to survive and those who donate. The corporate suites only care about lineing there pockets and won't help correct a center for being unclean and rude and unprofessional! Corporate won't even bother calling you back even if you request it cause they can't be bothered so it's a total waste of time! They just have the center manager call you which does no good cause they are even more unprofessional than the brates who pull crap out on the floor. There is one good team normally a.m but, Team B usually p.m suck! They play and are rude and if you call them out on it they ban together to make sure they waste your time. Even messing with your results! And will make sure you wait longer and waste as much as your time as possible!! If I acted this way at my work or treated patient's the way they do I'd would get sued and they should be held accountable too! But, they won't cause it's all curuputed! I am gonna call the health board though and see when they were last reviewed! As far as the unprofessional people well carma and judgement comes for all!! My biggest proublem is the pulse ox if my pulse was as high as they say sometimes than my heart would be beating out of my chest and so I gonna have a cardiologist look me over all thought I call BS!! And people if the face the machine were you can't see it you do have the right to see it and make sure the write it down correctly and you do have the right to have the nurse manually retake but, watch out cause some nurses don't like to do and I will fail you because of it! Today had that trouble after being there hour in half. She tried to tell that she didn't Know I was waiting same thing to lady before me and for that reason should go back to booth but, she was training and didn't want to be bothered!! Do not give plasma it's not safe here the staff are very young and don't know what they are doing they spill blood on the ground all the time and act as if it's not that bad when I filled a complaint this really big girl with tattoos told me I was not allowed to comeback for a year even do she didn't have the power to do that so I called the corporate office number to file a complaint and they let donate blood trust me you would be better off standing in the corner asking for change or selling news papers just run and don't look back! read more

I'm sure their awesome for everyone else but so far all i've experienced is pain and annoyance. First they've bruised me every time, and the staff seemed less than happy working there. Some of them were nice but others seem like they should be in a different line of work for sure. I have been donating for years, very slow to donate at csl. They have no problem makeing you wait while beds are available. They run minimum staff and the average hour promise is more like two hours avg every time. On top of that there is no communication between staff and management, the staff has no idea what is going on for bonuses and if your careful you wont get the bonuses promised. This easter your supposed to get a scratch off ticket with every donation in april, yet no one knew what that meant so I didnt get one, now they have them. I called and the manager talked over me and told me that they got them today. So I get crap for my eligible donation. False advertising, in my opinion. She said it is while supplies last,... you have the supplies, where is my scratch off? I had a note in my account too.. but hey, if you like to wait, have incompetent staff stick needles in you, and any question beyond when to come back is like a foreign language because they have no clue, then csl is the place for you. read more

My first four visits were great, in and out with all my vitals on point. Now I arrive 30-40 minutes before closing and I always get turned away due to my "pulse is over 100", the first time I blamed it on the machine, the second time I think they have it all setup where they just don't want to be there any longer than the closing time 7 pm or they just need to get their machines recalibrated after 50+ vital checks. You can hear them joking and laughing, and only two rooms open to check the vitals when they have over 20 people waiting. Of course, you are going to be still at work well after 7 pm. Today I wasn't the only one they turned away because of their pulse was too high. It's an efficient setup and I need the money for right now. I just don't need the bullshit when I'm attempting to provide CLS with something they need. The people that are employed they need to recognize that their name isn't on the markee. read more
