Besides the new computer, I am still running two desktops he built (ages 5 and 10) and a laptop that is approaching a decade old. All still run flawlessly, though obviously the technology has passed them by. You get a clean install of Windows with no bloatware or OEM "enhancements." You can get something for less at a big box store, but you get what you pay for.
