I celebrated my daughter's 10th birthday party here, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. She chose the clay art activity with a "Sea Friends" theme because it sounded creative and exciting for the kids, but the actual experience did not meet expectations at all. There were only three very simple animal designs offered, which was far too limited for a two-hour birthday party and not engaging enough to keep the children interested. The employees assisting with the activity did not appear to be properly trained to host or manage a children's party. Their instructions were unclear, they spoke very softly, and there was little enthusiasm or interaction with the kids. The atmosphere felt dull and unorganized instead of fun and energetic like a birthday celebration should be. Many of the children lost interest quickly because there was no excitement, guidance, or effort to keep them engaged. What was most disappointing was that, despite booking a two-hour party, the actual clay activity lasted only around 40 minutes. After that, there was very little for the kids to do, leaving them bored and restless for most of the remaining time. As a parent spending money to create a memorable milestone birthday for my daughter, I expected a much better-planned and professionally hosted experience. I chose this place hoping it would create happy memories for my daughter and her friends, but instead it turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience for both the kids and the parents attending the party. read more

First of all, I want to say this rating is from purely a walk-in experience and not a birthday party. I decided to take my son here as we love crafting together. The pros: The space was bright, colorful, organized and clean. The staff were friendly and informative and didn't mind giving us extra paint when we wanted additional colors. Love that you can just walk right in without reservations. The cons: Wow is this place expensive for what you get. Most of their items that you can paint can easily be found in the dollar section at Target or for less the $5 at Michael's. The cheapest item to paint was $15 and those were very small pieces which can easily be painted in less than 10 minutes. My son chose a wooden snake and I chose a window clings wind chime. Each were $22. I would expect more expensive prices for items like this if maybe you get some special tools or paints to use. You simply get a paper plate with acrylic colors of your choice and paint brushes. I do not feel this is worth the price when I can easily replicate this experience in my own home for less than $10. Overall, the idea is great but they need to make this experience more unique in order for it to be worth the price. For example, there is another craft place in Pleasanton that you can create ceramics that have to go into a kiln for around the same price. That is not something I can replicate in my own home and is therefore worth the price. read more

Nice place to do birthday parties. Our daughter has been here a few times now and enjoyed it every time. They have a private studio out back that one can book for large parties, as well as an open area with tables for individuals and smaller groups out front (past the check-in kiosks). The service is solid and they have COVID protocols in place. They can arrange for food and cake, or you can bring your own. Bathrooms are clean and there is plenty of parking. From planning to day of the party, staff were really attentive and responsive. I wanted specific things for my son's party and the Danielle definitely took really detailed notes. Jaya, the owner, was always so quick to respond by email. All I needed to do was to set up the dessert table. The staff (I was lucky enough to have three), did everything from leading the group of kids, passing out the pizza and drinks, cutting the cake (yes!), and to bagging up the kids' ceramics individually at the end with their names written outside the bags. The (Garlex) pizzas that we had to order through Creatif turned out to be pretty good! Guests loved them too and were asking where they were from. The pesto chicken combo was my favorite! The one star off which really should be half is just me now realizing that a ceramic which I had not picked out for my guests prior was displayed as an option at the party. While some items that were part of a collection I had selected weren't displayed at all until I said something. Either way, I considered this issue to be minor since the staff was able to bring out the other ceramics after I had asked for them. If you're still debating, just go with Creatif so you don't have to stress about anything else other than setting up dessert/display table! read more

We spent about an hour or so here this Saturday morning with my 3 year old daughter. It was not crowded since it's a big space although there was a birthday party going on in the inner room. Big selection of nice paint colors and many items to paint, from basic canvas to ceramic items. My daughter mostly painted a cupcake which was a neat little piggy bank open-able at the bottom. I booked this place for my daughter's 6th birthday and it turned out AMAZING!! We had close to 25 kids in the back private room! The staffs were very knowledgeable of what to do. I loved that the instructor will show the kids step-by-step to completing their masterpiece art work!! Kids were able to follow along, while allowing them to be creative with their own painting. I wanted to throw my daughter a paint party for her 10th birthday. I checked out Creatif and saw they had virtual paint parties through Zoom, as well as provided the supplies. I emailed and received a response right away (as well as all the subsequent emails)! The owner, Jaya put together all the supplies. She was very helpful and organized. I had about 10 girls in the class, and they all loved it! I dropped off supplies, grazing boxes, drinks, and a favor that morning to the local participants. The instructor, Sindu did a great job and answered the kids' questions, gave more time, etc. Only thing was at the end of the 2 hours she rushed, took a picture, and ended the meeting. I went there with my three year old for a perfect father daughter date! The place, in a strip mall, was unusually quiet for a Sunday. But that's good for me and my kid :) the staff was very friendly. This is how it works. We checked in and picked (my daughter) an item we wanted to paint. You lay for the item and They provide everything else. Paint, brush, apron...They even have high chairs. We dried the item and painted again and dried again. You can easily spend an hour. Not bad for the price. We would come again. They also do birthday parties. This place is also good for adults. This place is great for artists! My daughter loves everything art and this studio was perfect for her. The worker was very kind when we walked in the door and explained everything well. You go in and pick what item you'd like to paint. There are 3 different shelves with different price points ranging from $15 at the bottom and up to $25 at the top. My 6 year old picked a canvas and they have little iPads that show a video step by step how to make a painting. I knocked down 1 star just because I think the price point is a little to high for what you get. My son love this place. So, I'm giving it five stars. I asked him if he liked the ball pit or painting place better, and he responded with the painting place. If it was strictly my review, I might give four stars. I missed the paint that gets treated and is glossy. That sort of paint seems common in these painting places, but it's not here. I just missed the experience of anticipation of picking up the figurine when it was ready and seeing the final results. They use high quality acrylic paint. It does allow for painting canvases, rocks, and wood. They have a lot of options. So, that's a great positive. It's a clean and beautiful shop. The interior is welcoming. The staff and it might of been the owner I met was super friendly. This is also great because there is no clean up for parents. They give out aprons to protect cloths. GREAT birthday party place!! I recently attended a birthday party at Creatif with my 8 year old daughter. It was so fun! They had music on that was appropriate for the girls' age, and the room was large enough to move around easily. There were 2 artists on hand to explain the project (which the birthday girl designed herself ahead of time). My favorite part was that all the guests had a chance to paint a portion of a canvas for the birthday girl to take home. We came for an after school play date on a Friday late afternoon, drove 30 min from Castro valley, and WOW were we disappointed. We were the only ones there, which may have been the first indication that people don't support their business. The workers were so rude, I was appalled. Each worker had the worst attitude and customer service I have ever experienced at a place that caters to children. I was also told that breast-feeding my child was "unsanitary" in the private party room that NOBODY was in. Every time we would ask for something, they would answer as if they were annoyed. The only time there was any dialogue is when they were telling us what not to do, or what our children were doing wrong. I was in the area and decided to check this place out. I was greeted immediately and asked if I've been here before. When I stated that I had not, I was given a tour and I was amazed at how clean, organized and inviting the store was. They explained that there were many options in regards to objects to paint on from canvas, to piggy banks to plant planters. I figured this would be a great place for my 7 year old niece, who's birthday is coming up and they went over birthday packages as well. By that point I was excited to paint something so they showed me to the check in station which was super easy to use. I don't know anything about art, but the app had simple and step by step video which helped me a lot. My daughter got super excited when she got to fastdry her artwork. They have drying stations at the back. I loved the interior and the environment it was perfect for us. The color scheme just brings joy to your mind.
