The thing I love most about Crystal's Kitchen is not only the excellent quality of their dishes but the variety as well. I found this place because I was looking for an Indonesian tofu dish called Gado-Gado. Crystal's calls it satay tofu and it was yummy. For anyone thinking to come try this place you won't regret eating here. The food is so good for Asian food in the south shore this place is the best I have ever found in the area. The only thing keeping them from a five star is that sometimes the food can be a little unpredictable as in it taste different depending on the different chef and the spicy levels seem to be always different when I order. Became plant based vegetarian thanks to a friend who made me watch the movie fork over knives! It is very hard to find a restaurant that offers many items without meat, eggs, oils and dairy. Most of the vegetarian menu has sautéed items using oil but I was still able to get suggestions from our waiter and walked out so full! I had garden salad with cucumber sauce since it is made without oil, miso soup, brown rice and mango rolls without the mayo! Second visit I tried the vegetarian tofu soup with another order of mango rolls no mayo. Can't wait to go back and get the veggie miso soup I think I will have them add buckwheat noodles oh and I can't forget the mango rolls. Hope you enjoy this place as much as I do! Crystal's exemplifies what good Thai food should taste like. Some other restaurants in the area come close, but nothing truly compares.

It's almost impossible for me to say what my favorite is over here because everything I've tried is so good. If I had to give one word about the food, I would say it's so "fresh". I love many of the stir fried noodle dishes like Pad Thai, Penang Char, Hokkien Mee, Mee Siam, and my new favorite is the Suki in the pot. I can only comment that those who think this place is "awesome" are obviously only drawn to it's sweet and sub-par, very Americanized flavor. I kept hearing the buzz about Crystal's Kitchen, I kept wanting to go. And then one night, we went. There was a bit of a wait, which the peach of a hostess was up front about. Nothing too long and certainly not off putting. We sat, we ordered, we ate, we LOVED it. We went back the very next night. It's now our go-to for Asian! We keep trying new dishes and everything is delicious. The place is small, almost intimate for such a bustling business with a very robust take out business. You'll find almost as many attentive, kind, caring servers as customers. You'll notice all of the staff looking around, waiting to help, clear dish, or ask if you need anything else. If you aren't sure about something on the menu, ask! I have seen them pull out smartphones to show pictures of the dishes almost every time I have been. They are truly helpful staff. There are also many pictures on their website of the dishes on the menu. The food is outstanding. A good variety with a number of different Asian styles represented on the menu. Reasonably priced with good portions, we still plan on an appetizer and have some of our entrée to take home. And although we don't usually have the room. Crystal's homemade bread pudding is to die for. From curries, to stir fry, rice dishes to noodles, I haven't found something I didn't love on the menu. Scallion pancakes are light and fluffy and stuffed with scallions, not the typical limp scallion pancakes that are often served. Beef rendang is hearty and filling with just the right amount of spice. Drunken noodles, penang char guay teow, Singapore noodles (with amazingly delicate thin rice noodles) have all been some of the many hits! Whenever we leave we can't wait to go back. My date (who suggested we go) ordered us 2 mai tais (yum) and started us off with the sample platter. The chicken satay was tender and juicy, the crab rangoons were delicious. I'd like to give a shout out to the carrot flowers...it's the simple "extras" that can really set a place apart. My dinner was the drunken noodles, huge portion that was more than enough for lunch/dinner the day after. Crystal's Kitchen is my new favorite restaurant. I absolutely love the Saigon Chicken and the coconut fried rice. Yum! The service is over the top good. I have really liked everything I've gotten. The prices are fair, and you get a good amount food. I day dream about the coconut fried rice with chicken, peas, scallions and egg. I could be happy just eating that...but why would I want to limit my choices? Huge menu. I'm planning on trying a good part of it. Crystal was the original owner of the Chatta Box. When she left us, so did her dedication to the food. Chatta Box has never been as good as when she owned it. Not the fake customer service you get at some restaurants, but they really give you a good vibe. Best customer service I have had at a restaurant. For example, my boyfriend was eating a dish that was spicy and when they heard him cough, they came right away without us asking or anything and asked if it was too spicy and if it is they could take it back and tone it down. Very caring. The food, the menu is overwhelming!!!! But there are sooooo sooo many choices. & it is all authentic Asian food too. I had a hard time picking!!!
