It's interesting that Yelp reviews have garnered Crystal Nails 2 1/2 stars, yet the sign on the door designates them "Best of Savannah", an annual competition, for 5 years running. Are Yelpers too brutal when reviewing? Or is it human nature to take time to complain but not to compliment? A came here because of a friend's recommendation. This salon appears very clean, plenty of natural light, comfortable pedicure seating with flat screen TV. Foot baths are lined after each use. I observed during this Covid time, as customers came and went, each employee cleaned their station prior to the next guest. I was greeted immediately by an employee and asked to choose a pedicure color. Next question was pedicure preference: Deluxe, $41 or regular, $31. The difference, from what I could understand, was the sloughing of dead skin and a massage. I would have preferred somewhat of a salon menu explaining their offerings. The massage was lengthy and I almost dozed, my toes look great, and they're taking plenty of precautions to protect their employees and customers during this Covid time. read more

I called last minute to see if anything was available and they told me to come in. I wasn't in a rush, I was able to wait if needed when I arrived. They rushed through my gel manicure. Uneven edges and polish stuck under my nails. Cuticles barely touched. I also got a regular pedicure. The poor girl seemed very new and uncomfortable. I had to ask her to even out my nails after she cut and filed since they were crooked. She hit my cuticle a few times with the clippers. She put acetone in the nail polish - I know it's used to thin the polish, but why? There's no way it'll last as long. An older women, her mom, came over and took off, added more acetone to the polish. I asked why and if it lasts as long because acetone takes off polish. She got a new color and started over, which was fine, she offered. I wasn't picky. When I went to pay, I was SHOCKED they charged full price. $65 for both. I usually do my own nails, but didn't have time. Unfortunately, don't waste your money. I was more than happy to wait for people who had more time, but they insisted on squeezing me in. read more

I really hate to give negative reviews, but I definitely want others to know what to expect when coming here. If you want a nice relaxing pedicure or a clean and beautiful eyebrow waxing, then this is a great place for you. If you want a simple manicure, this might also be a great place for you. Unfortunately my regular nail salon was closed on Labor Day, so I came here instead. I wanted a dipset set in a matte seafoam green. The staff there didnt seem to know what matte even was, and it was a very weird experience having to explain what a matte overlay on a dipset meant. We came to the conclusion that they just don't have matte. I decided to go ahead with a good finish. I chose my color, and once the tech began to add the pigment, it was obvious that it was no where near the color that I wanted. Again I said nothing. A dip set will hold typically for about 3 or 4 weeks for me- VERY rarely chipping. The photos attached are after 5 DAYS. Needless to say I'm not happy. I did have a lovely pedicure and eyebrow waxing, so I'm giving 2 stars for that. I'm also very aware that I took a chance going somewhere id never been before. I hope they update their nail skills to 2022, as there are so many other nail salons offering a huge selection of services, and unfortunately they may just get left behind. read more

Had a walk-in pedicure, was attended to quickly. Was seated and my pedicure began. Then I was asked what I wanted, I asked for a menu and was verbally told regular, deluxe and super deluxe. I was at no point quoted a price. The pedicure was not done very well, Helen the lady that attended me did a bad job of scrubbing my heals, I left the place with dead skin on my foot. She also scrapped the gel off my big toe and told me it was the positioning of my foot. She readjusted me and proceeded to then scrape the gel off the same toe two additional times. Overall the experience was "ehh". I will say they were friendly and I was attended to quickly. But this place really does quantity over quality. read more

Absolute most horrible experience. Took my three girls to get their nails done. They wanted specific designs which this place had zero clue how to do. They were so rushed they refused to give one of my daughters what she asked for and dipped her nails (because it's faster) and that costs an extra $10 and they look like CRAP. She's the youngest so she didn't really argue but did NOT get what she wanted. The oldest of my girls who has a little more moxy had to stress to her technician multiple times that she didn't want them DIPPED. Had one of the worst experiences ever here! Got acrylics and the lady got super glue all over me! The nails were wider then my finger nails, they looked hideous and had absolutely no shape... she made me bleed trying to file them then said she wasn't going to anymore because there was too much glue. They started lifting within 2 days!! Not to mention the French manicure she painted on was a straight line of white... not fitting the natural curve of a nail at ALL! So frustrating!!! What a rip off. We went in for a menu pedi. All we wanted was a simple mani pedi. At no time did they explain that a deluxe would be an additional $10. They do not speak discernible English so we sat down for a rushed pedi. No hot stone. A quick rub. No clear before the colour, and no final coat. There were huge gaps and my cuticles are still there. I have been going to Crystal Nails for a few years now, and I have never had a bad experience. I love how clean everything is, and how they give you a bag containing the file and buffers they used on you so that you know everything is one use and sanitary. Also, they have some kind of magic in making polish not chip because my manicures always last AGES when I get them done here. I paint my nails a lot at home, but they always chip after only one or two days, which has miraculously never happened to me after a professional manicure. Probably the products they use. Anyway, I definitely recommend going. They always remember me and ask about my family and are super nice with reasonable prices. read more

I literally just stepped out of this nail salon. I'm visiting from LA and I needed my eyebrows waxed. I went on yelp to see if there was a place with good reviews close to my hotel. I called another place but they were by appointment only so this was my second choice. I go in. The place was really nice and they seemed friendly enough. I got my eyebrows done -- shockingly, pain-free -- but the lady didn't give me the handheld mirror to look after she was done. I didnt think too much of it, so I just took a peek at the large mirror in the room and it seemed good enough with the given lighting. I pay, give a tip, then get in my car. When I looked in the mirror in my car, I was able to see little hairs left in the area where she waxed. It was probably because the wax wasn't hot enough to begin with, which aided in the pain-free experience that I had. So, I simply go back in to get those hairs plucked but the waxer made it seem like it was "my skin" that I was looking at and not actual hairs left under the brow. :/ Maybe they don't service a lot of people with darker hues and are unable to decipher skin from dark hairs. I really can't say. I just know that if you wax eyebrows for a living, you should be able to tell hair vs skin. I kept having to point it out and she would then pluck it. But she also kept saying, "your skin," right after she'd pluck it. So my question to her was did she think she was plucking skin bc I clearly see hair and she's clearly plucking hair. She didn't want to admit that the job was not complete in the first place. I usually do my own eyebrows but since I'm on vacay I wanted someone else to do it for me. We all get like that sometimes, where we want to be pampered. But this experience reminded me why I stick to what I know, and do my own eyebrows. Two stars for nice decor. read more

I decided to take my powder acrylic nails off at home, due to the chipping and cracking. Once I removed the powder gel I noticed a green stain underneath my middle fingernail. I am disgusted to find out it is a fungus! Before seeing them (crystal nail), i have never had any fungus. The reason i came to them was because the place i went to on a regular basis didn't have enough technicians to do fill ins. I would not recommend this place to get anything done. I am so disgusted by what I found on my nail! I have 14 plus years experience in getting manicures. This is the first time I have ever experienced a fungus!! read more

Been coming here for a few years now, and after trying out several new salons due to them being closer to where I live, I can easily say Crystal Nails is still the best! The friendly staff really pamper you, and the soft background music combined with the most incredible massage chairs creates such a relaxing environment, it's definitely one of my favorite reasons for coming back. I live a fairly hectic lifestyles so I always look forward to my regular appointments, knowing not only will I leave with beautiful nails, but also that I will leave feeling relaxed and refreshed. The shop is very clean and it's nice that it doesn't have that typical nail salon smell. I can often get a headache from the strong chemical smell at other places, and I like that I don't have to worry about it here. All the technicians are true professionals and after getting to know them over the years, I know I can trust any one of them with my mani-pedi's. I can be a bit picky but I never have to worry since they are all obviously well experienced and really seem to take pride in their work (not to mention they give the best massages!). Their prices are really reasonable considering the level of service and "splurging" on the deluxe pedicure for only $10 more is a must. It really is a treat and makes my day! Very disappointed with my service. My technician rushed through everything, even cut me twice. I have sns powder, and you're supposed to soak off and file, soak and file. She soaked and then proceeded to file the color off, eventually filing my nails to the extreme. When she put the new color in, it was very bulky but I assumed she'd file them eventually. When she didn't, I asked her and she looked at me like I was crazy, then all she did was file my nailbed even more. Now my nails look extremely fake, I have two cuts on two different fingers, and my nailbeds are ruined. Do not waste your time or money going here! read more

Not a very good experience here. Im visiting and my nails have gotten jacked up during my fun. My sis recommended this place. We walked in about 1 and was told they were all booked until 3:30. Okay, no biggie. I called and scheduled an appointment for 3:30 for an acrylics mani & regular pedi. The lady misheard me and said they have availability at 2:30. So that should have been a red flag. I ended up reserving a 4:30 slot. I get in 15 mins early and had to come back. I came back at 4:30 exactly and I had to wait 30 minutes. The woman that did my pedicure was nice enough. Overall it was ok. When it was time for my manicure she said she doesn't do long nails, and didn't bother to refer me to another tech that could. Wtf? What a waste of my time. Do not recommend, had a $45 gift certificate so I decided I would go because I needed fill in and wasn't near my normal Salon. It has only been 4 days and nails are chipped, paint is see through, all are lifting, and two have now fallen off. The lady I had kept urging me to get SNS and I said no thank you I would like to get pink and white and she would not do it so I just settled for pink polish and now have to regret it. Their pedicures are wonderful and on every visit to Savannah I love to visit their salon go get my nails done! I always feel papered and taken care of in their relaxing environment. This is by far the best nail salon I have ever been to. The atmosphere was super cool and the staff was extremely welcoming. The seating was super comfortable and my nails look fabulous. My feet are so soft and feel like a baby's bottom with no more dead or rough skin. I maybe caught then on an off day. I went on a Saturday afternoon and felt communicating difficult. I wanted a gel manicure and I had a friend coming in 10 min who also wanted one. I told her we would wait to get them done together. There was clearly a language barrier as they planned to complete mine and then hers after she got there. I asked her to trim my nails and she said yes and never did. There was no file or trimming involved. I did not wash my hands after the cuticle process and my gel has been chipping 3 days later. I went to crystal nails with my 2 nieces and sister to have mani-pedi for nieces wedding. We were very disappointed with our experience there. We were very rushed to get polish picked and seated for mani...my sister wanted French gels and got acrylic French nails...she wasn't really aware of what happens when you get gels. My second Neice never got seated for mani and we were going to have pedi she said never mind..we did have reservations. Pedis were all different depending on the tech...nothing out of the ordinary. One of the worst experiences EVER! Went in for a polish change on my toenails, a new set of dipped nails on my fingernails. It should've been a clue when he stopped in the middle of one lady's pedicure and came over and started working on me. I had to pick out a polish color, and everything I picked, something wrong with it... too light... no not that one... we finally made it through the toenails and started on my fingernails. We had to remove the old set of dipped nails. He wrapped me in acetone and foil and left. He went and did another complete pedicure and left me sitting with acetone on my hands for 30 minutes. It was on there so long that it not only removed the dip nails, but the tips as well. He was very quick in applying the new set of dip nails. However, he has it all over my cuticles as well as around and underneath my fingernails. I gave him the benefit of the doubt assuming he would clean it up. He did not. When I pointed out that they were bumps etc., he proceeded to tell me how I was wrong. When he finally finished, he put a topcoat on and put me under the UV light while he went to take care of another person, again! After eight minutes he came back and did not (in typical fashion for gel topcoat) rub them down with alcohol. He put oil all over them. I tried to point out that they would still be sticky and again he told me I was wrong. Being a tourist, I started walking back to my hotel. By the time I got back they were rough and dull.
