My partner and I recently moved to the area and have been looking for a good go-to pizza spot. This place was recommended on reddit and we knew we had to give it a try. We were greeted by a friendly staff and ordered the hivemind as well as the dungeon dragon pizza. They were perfectly thin and crispy. The red onions on the dungeon dragon pizza complimented the thinly sliced jalapeños very well and had a slight kick to it. The honey and chili on the hivemind pizza was the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside. When we went, it was a bit windy so we took our pizzas inside to enjoy and saw that there were also games you can play while you wait for your meal. Cryptic Pizza is nestled on Solomons Island, and this carry-out pizza place also has plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy your pie(s). It's not pizza-by-the-slice, but 12-inch whole pies that are 6 slices, of various toppings - I absolutely LOVED the names of their pizzas (Marg, Hivemind, Beast Hunter, Dungeon Dragon, Brooklyn Knight, Gandalf, Goblin King, Triforce, Presto, and Vampire Salyer)! They also have key lime by by the whole or by the slice. We ordered: +the Gandalf - this was topped with mozzarella, provolone, Parm, ricotta, garlic, black pepper, and sage +the Dungeon Dragon - this was topped with tomato, mozzarella, jalapenos, red onions, garlic, and chili flakes; we opted out of the pepperoni; the jalapenos were raw and sliced, and there was a cup of 'Xtra dragon' which had pickled hot peppers to add to your liking +slice of key lime pie - the slice is more on the smaller end; this was very tart and yummy! The pizzas are made-to-order and came out hot; the presentation was great! It just tickled me that on the inside lid of the Dungeon Dragon was a message that said, 'Don't fear the dragon. Enjoy!' Excellent take out pizza on Solomons Island. This new pizza joint is fire and just what Solomons Island needed. It's take out only with outdoor communal seating only right across the street from the water - great views! Rest assured there are public restrooms. Their pizzas are served in a traditional pizza box and they're 12 inches big, 6 slices. They have a vast array of pies but rest assured you can get a traditional cheese or pepperoni. They sell canned drinks, bottled water and slices of Key Lime pie. Service was friendly, informative & fast. Our pies came out piping hot and they were delicious. We'll definitely be back! read more

I have been here twice now, and both times the pizza was awesome. It is a little pricey for the size of the pizza, a 12 inch pizza for $14 is a little steep. The food comes out pretty quickly, and the staff has been pleasant. There are dining spots both inside and out. So it is definitely a nice addition to the Solomon's atmosphere. read more

The pizza at Cryptic is outstanding - the crust is a perfect balance of chewy and crispy, and the flavors are as interesting as they are delicious. My favorite was the Green Goblin, but you can't go wrong with any of the pizzas. Plus, they have gluten free and vegan options! Not to mention that the service is excellent. We recently relocated here from overseas after 10 years and since my husband is in the military, we decided to visit the restaurant 20 minutes away from our house. We have a large group of people including our children and our four-month-old St Bernard baby. Our dog thrown up on the floor after ordering 3 boxes of pizza, and we asked the restaurant for the cleaning thing, and they provided us with a small rug. In order to make cleaning up more convenient, we requested a mop or broom; however, they did not have any and we did clean up the mess made by our dog. As a result, the server delivered our food and placed it on the table without providing us with plates and utensils and didnt say anyhting at all . My husband talked to their manager and he apologized for the manner in which they treated us. . As a result, we will not be returning to this establishment in the future since the customer service is so poor. read more

We walked in around 7:40/7:45 and the worker was passive aggressive about us walking in 15 minutes before close. They took 6 of our orders and were about to cut off the last 2 in our group. As someone who has been in the restaurant industry, I understand it may suck. But you still take the order bc that's the hours you are open. If there's a problem you either close earlier or lock the door earlier and say you're no longer taking orders. Don't be a jerk about ordering food within your hours. read more
