Awesome experience at MID Pizza today! It's nice when you can get a pizza made the way you want and not have to share it with anyone else. I normally have to compromise when ordering Pizza, so at MOD Pizza you can order and individualized Pizza and really don't have to find middle ground. Today I had pepperoni, olives, mushrooms, tomatoes, corn, peppers, sweet peppers, regular tomato sauce with crushed red peppers sprinkled on it and wow it was amazing! The ambience is clean, relaxing, modern, and organized. Service was friendly and attentive. We got exactly what we ordered with in a few minutes of ordering. There were no issues. Okay so the deserts were too tempting to pass up and boy were they ever good. We loved our experience at MOD Pizza today here in California, Maryland. At the Chipotle-esque assembly line that is MOD pizza, I was prepared for food by the ton mediocrity and wound up actually enjoying my Frankenpizza. You order ahead and choose from a laundry list of toppings and miraculously pay one price. I kept it tame with mushrooms and sausage (face it, coconut invalidates any pizza) with the end result not only edible but remarkably tasty. In the pizza wars many have fallen and it's far too early to tell if MOD is a gimmick in search of a market or a legitimate player. A make your own pizza with unlimited toppings, with just a little sauce and very little cheese. We were in the mood for pizza after watching a movie and decided to try this place out. After walking in, the people behind the counter greet you. There is a large menu on the wall with a list of their toppings and some specialty pizzas and salads. You choose either 6" or 11" pizza, thin or double size dough, and there is an option for gluten free or a cauliflower crust. I opted for a 11" cheese, 11" sausage and pepperoni, and a 6" margherita pizza. After ordering you get to watch them make the pizza. The dough is stretched out to make a thin crust pizza. Then just enough sauce to make the dough red is spread on. Then a ladle is used to scoop just enough cheese to barely cover the pizza, even for the cheese pizza. I would have thought for a plain cheese they would at least put a bit more on. Toppings are sparingly put on next and then the pizza goes in the oven. The pizza is thin so it doesn't take long to cook. The 6" is sliced into four slices and the 11" sliced into six. The margherita and meat pizza was kinda ok tasting, but the cheese was not that great. Even the kids didn't want to eat it, and that is saying something. There are two tea choices and a (fresh made?) lemonade and blackberry lemonade next to the soda fountain. The blackberry lemonade was the best tasting. This is an interesting concept, and nice that there is patio seating (something this area is seriously lacking), but not sure this will be top of my list to eat at. I've been to other Mod Pizzas with family and the employees weren't the most friendly. Not to say they were rude before but they haven't greeted with the same welcoming experience as this specific MOD. I ordered for myself here for the first time and was able to get any concerns addressed and my Pizza topped down to my desire with no complaints. I was also addressed kindly at checkout. I waited about 3 minutes and was HANDED my pizza. This is a great place for a good pizza, they have two size for there regular think crust pizza. One is about 10-12 inches round the other is 5-7 inches you can get any toppings on your pizza you don't pay for each one you can load it up for one price. they have a thick crust but I haven't had that one and they also have salads that you can also put what ever kind of lettuce and then toppings. The place is pretty busy continuously throughout the day the line moves along pretty quick. If your n line and have a few people in your group stay together don't have one go save a table it messes up the table by the time you get through the line and your order is ready someone will have finished and you will get a seat when its your turn to eat. The positives: I have been there twice and the service and food is what you would expect from a quick service restaurant. The price is a great deal as well. The ingredients however are the difference maker. Ok, so the pizzas were good as always, no issues. The customer service was a little suspect. Leys start with my salad. How do you screw up a Ceasar salad?? I ordered a regular Ceadar and they forgot half the ingredients. How do you forget half the ingredients when it only has 5?? Lack of attention to detail. To their credit, they did make another one. Now this is what pissed me off. I went into to the bathroom, and although it was clean enough, the stall door (was only one) was not able to be secured. You had to do some major powerlifting of the door on its frame just to get it to secure. If there is only one stall, you have to make sure it actually works. If it was just based on pizza, 5 stars, but when everything else sucked, it drops to 2 stars. Let's try and get these things fixed Mod, you are a great place. My first time at MOD Pizza was excellent! Because of COVID, we ordered through the app. What was odd was that some people had their pizza brought out to them but I didn't see that option in the app so maybe they called in their order? It would've been nice to have that option from the app so that we didn't have to go in. We decided to do a more traditional pizza and a non-traditional one. We each got the 11" create your own pizza. I got red sauce, cheese, green peppers, onions, mushrooms and pepperoni. My partner got the white sauce with all the cheeses, mushrooms and onions. She really wanted caramelized onions which would've been the bomb. She topped it with the balsamic fig sauce. It was the better of the two pizzas! Incredibly thin, crispy crust and just enough to have two pieces left-over for later. We finished off our meal with the no-name dessert which is like a Ring Ding (or is it a Ding Dong?). A small, round, chocolate covered, moist cake with buttercream in the center. Yum! We keep talking about when we can make it back to MOD Pizza to try a bazillion other pizzas! read more

Love this place! They have salads and of course pizza! One price for a pizza made your way. You can order their suggestions (on the board) or modify your pizza to fit your specifications. Which is what I do! In case you were wondering this is my MOD: pepperoni, sausage, spinach, mushrooms, black olives, with mozzarella and feta cheese. We've been to this location about three times now. The first two times we had to wait in a line that was backed up to the entrance and the last time we went just before rush hour and we were the only customers in there. The atmosphere is unique. The employees are friendly and efficient. I enjoyed the last visit because we could find a clean table and it was not as loud. The Pizza is good. I think I'm getting a craving. It's neat that you can watch your pizza being made and have input to how you want it built as its being built. If you don't have enough toppings, it's your own fault for not speaking up. Went tonight for dinner and while there were a few hiccups I'm definitely errring in the side of 3.75 stars. For $8 you can get an 11 inch pizza (definitely enough for one, or could be shared with another person w/ maybe a salad) with unlimited toppings, sauces, extras, etc... so it's really a great deal! Just be sure to keep an eye on them as they prep the pizza because my daughters extra pepperoni pizza started off with them putting on maybe 6 pepperoni slices until I asked them if they could add XTRA pepperoni for her lol! So kinda like chipotle with guacamole #anotherone The sauce is great not too sweet and the crust is a great combo of chewy & crispy. Ingredients also seemed very fresh and honestly there is a million combinations you could make because of how many options they have! While I'm not a fan of the ordering process...think subway, you tell them how many pizzas and the types and then you move down the line where they add toppings, sauces, etc... then they're whisked off to bake... I gave my order to the first girl who basically only paid attention to half of what I said. I was giving her the type of sauce, cheese, and toppings I wanted for the pizzas and she would only check off like every other item I said. I kept asking her if she got this or that because I wouldn't see her check it off on the paper she just kept saying "mmm hmm yes I did" Luckily I paid attention and realized she wasn't marking everything because unlike subway they don't ask you down the line what toppings or cheese etc they look at what the first person has marked on the sheet...which in this case was inaccurate. So yes ordering was hectic and not my favorite...maybe it wouldn't be so bad at not such a busy time but I still suggest keeping a close eye on your pizza and make sure everything you request is actually put on there. Our food came out pretty quick (within 3-5 minutes of ordering) which was nice all except for one of the pizzas which might have come out a little too quick because it wasn't quite as crispy as the others. I asked them if it was possible to pop it back in the oven and they actually just offered to make up another one which I thought was great. We will definitely be back and are happy to have a quick, affordable, fresh pizza option! read more
