World Market in Newport News is the new E-Mart and has only furniture, not the Asian food I was looking for. Instead, I went next door to Fresh Market and bought two bags of red, white and blue potato chips. The woman of color behind the counter knew I understood what they had done. She said something out of context with my shopping trip: "It's my turn now." When there was interaction, me and my party were treated very rudely. My guess is that it was because 1. they were scarred by the other people there that were being very rude and irritating first. And 2. some of the staff are very preferential when it comes to certain demographics and not very partial to others. Love that old double standard, it's even more delectable than anything on the menu! Final word on this place: not the best, not the worst. Service could be a LOT better.
