The event included food trucks and a variety of vendors. My friend and I grabbed some BBQ from S&J Catering and it was delicious. We also grabbed donuts from Klassic Donuts and Glazed & Infuzed as well, which were very tasty. As we walked through the different shops, I absolutely loved all the fresh local, produce that was available. One of the shops offered a variety of jarred items and sauces so I purchased Crab Salsa and Spicy Pickled Okra. Both were very good and I definitely need to go back and get more! I absolute love supporting local businesses and I will definitely be returning very soon! Everyone was very nice and I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Old…read moreBeach Farmers Market is located in the vibe district of Virginia Beach near the convention center (18th street). They are open every Saturday 9-noon (May-Oct) and every 3rd Saturday 9-noon (Nov-April). This is also a pet friendly market. Parking is street parking or there is a small free parking lot nearby. Old Beach farmers market has over 30 vendors each weekend. You can find fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, eggs, seafood, flowers, cheese, mushrooms, sauces, baked goods, tea and much more. You can even find a food truck. Some of my favorite Vendors are: Capstone Mushrooms, they always have a great selection of Oyster mushrooms (blue, pink, gold, king) , beech, Chestnut, lions Mane and shiitake. They sell grow kits if you want to try your hand at growing your own as well as extracts and blends you can add to your soups, sauces or drinks. Life is Gouda, they sell a variety of cheese based spreads. My favorite is the smoked gouda. It goes great with crackers, celery and carrots, a must try! Cromwell's Produce & Fritillary farm is my go to for fresh produce. This market does have a few produce vendors to choose from but I frequent these two the most. They always have fresh greens and fruits that are in season. Nick B's Chimichurri sells absolutely the best chimichurri sauce. It has a long shelf life and doesn't need to be refrigerated. This Sauce goes great on everything, steak, chicken, fish, lamb, even a chip. I find the prices to be very reasonable and comparable to the large chains. Definitely recommend stopping by and supporting small business and local farmers.

Just a quick browse today as I looked over the local produce while headed to another shop. Lots of great looking stuff, even if it is a little early in the season for fresh grown. Loved the collection of local honey. Did you know that eating local honey is a great way to build up a ragweed tolerance so that you don't have really bad allergies? Yep. A spoonful a day will help with that! The gent working today was very helpful and not at all disappointed that I wasn't making a purchase at the moment.

I have been involved with New Earth since construction. The market sells produce, eggs, meat, vegetables, bread, flowers and more to the public. Everything available will be harvested from New Earth. Items will be sourced to their their three restaurants, Commune and Prosperity Kitchen & Pantry. The educational component such as Farm Table has been ramped up with the installation of a new kitchen. Cooking classes can be scheduled at www.newearthfarm.organd are for all ages and groups welcome. Other educational items that can be booked through their website are Farm Lab & Food Lab. We learned some cool new tricks and met some new people at the workshop. I was impressed with the little building where the training happened - it was a cold day after a snow and it was warm and toasty inside. I had no idea this farm was nearby (I live just down Nimmo) and spoke to the Training Director who informed me that they have tons of workshops on canning, vinegars, foraging and other things during the warmer months as well as an active farmer's market area where they sell lots of goods grown on their farm. I'll have to add this into my rotation for fresh veggies and new training!

They also had some super great smelling homemade goats milk and other natural ingredients. I bought 3 of those. French Lavender, Patchouli, and Honeysuckle vine. They smell amazing! They also have jarred fruits and jams, frozen and fresh seafood, which was too pricey for me, and some pretty plants. Overall it was a good stop.

Before we let him out of the car, my husband walked up to the stand and asked if our dog could be outside and they were very happy to have him outside of the lanes of the strawberry patch (understandable, he's a dog after all). The strawberries were abundant, big, and juicy! We easily filled up our bucket in minutes. We will 100% be back here next year instead of some of the biggest farms in the area.

This farm always participates in the strawberry picking season and the price is about $4/lb for U Pick. The employees are friendly and it's a no frills strawberry type of farm. The farm itself is on the smaller side but still has enough rows of Strawberries for your picking needs. Our recent trip resulted in a Ton of great looking strawberries but weren't as sweet as we were expecting but it was still tasty. The parking space here can fill up quickly. Recommended wearing closed toes shoes, esp when there is a recent rain storm. Still love to come here and pick some strawberries and will continue to come.

I came here yesterday on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in hopes of picking some strawberries with my family. The place was hopping! Which got me confused when I saw the sign "U pick closed." Evidently they've been so busy with people picking strawberries they were pretty much picked over. They had a fun inventory of gifts, fresh produce, fresh dairy, drinks, jams, and candy. I am coming back year every year and the staff are so kind caring and respectful and so sweet and wonderful people and plus they have little market to buy staff.
